Russia acknowledges Assad losing control    Associated Press
1. Assads only chanse of survival ?
Go back to the Alawite Mountains, and abandone and leave the rest of Syria. This he should have done a long time ago. Arn.Sweden.

2. I don't understand
why Assad would be given immunity and asylum for his crimes against civilians. Why would he not be brought to justice like any other murderer?
Devorah   (12.13.12)
3. Israel has foreign naval bases but soon Russia won't
Israel has a naval base in Eritrea but since the end of the cold war Russia's only base outside former Soviet block countries was in Tartus. Unfortunately for Russia they have openly backing the wrong horse by giving Assad weapons and support in the UN. I think its safe to say the Russians will be out of Tartus pretty quick once the new regime takes over not only costing Russia their only base but also putting an end to its ambitions of becoming an influential power in the region again.

7. The interpretation
Assad has exhausted Syria's reserves buying arms from Russia and Iran can no longer afford to augment them. The Russian government cannot squeeze another cent from the Assad regime and won't extend credit because it knows that it won't get paid. So ends the Russian government's interest in the Assad regime. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (12.13.12)
Iranians will keep paying for it awhile and then it will be Chinese who will try. And the cycle will go on and on. Let them kill each other instead of us!! THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (12.14.12)
