1. Very dangerous situation
Zed   (12.15.12)
Not taking sides in Syria, the Turkish do have an inalienable right to protect their sovereign borders and citizens from harm. With that said, flooding the area with ground troops, various countries flooding factions/sides with arms is very worrying, virtually guaranteeing an upswing in violence and casualties. I only hope it gets resolved soon. Civil wars cause so much damage and carnage -very ugly indeed. My heart goes out to the poor people who are trapped in the country, innocent civilians who just want to be free of the violence of war.
2. yeah Iran, anti-missile batteries threaten
the mad zionist ,   sf-ny-is   (12.15.12)
a world war. and applying missiles and soldiers to syria is peace advocacy. Jesus, this world really is upsidedownsideways. and I'm not saying Turkey is good though. I love the people of Turkey, but Erdogan is no different than achmadinejad, maybe even more dangerous because Obama turns a blind eye to his provocations in the ME. my prayers are there for the innocent civilians in Syria and Turkey. Jake
3. Iron Dome also setting the stage for world war
zionist forever   (12.16.12)
Me thinks Iran's real problem is they want to rule the roost and their main weapon right now to intimidate everybody in the region is its missile program. Saying putting Patriots in Turkey to protect it from Syrian missiles is going to lead to war is like saying that having Iron Dome protecting Tel Aviv is going to lead to war. Typical arab / Persian logic making war is ok but protecting yourself in a war is going to lead to war. Its like when a terrorist carries out an attack and we retaliate by killing him and his pals say we must avenge his death, they think they are the only ones allowed to do the killing and you have no right to defend yourself if they want to kill you.
4. Heh heh Iran...EXACT OPPOSITE is the case
NudNik69   (12.16.12)
These people are just something else. They dont want an anti-missile system deployed, might they have plans to attack Turkey? NO!! NEVER!
5. Turkey has taken a moral stance
Mike ,   Ramat Gan   (12.16.12)
Although I dont like to admit this but Turkey's stance on temhe Syrian regime is admirable. It should have been Israel who should have taken a moral stance on this issue and support the rebellion against the murderous regime. Had we as a state stood for morality and justice by asserting our rights to our homeland and expose the myth of palestinianism, then we would have been in a position to defend the rights of those being butchered now in Syria. Second point i would like to make is that we should be wise enough to think about the long term consequences of deploying NATO missile defense in Turkey. This could potentially be used against Israel in a case of potential war or military escalation between Israel & Turkey. I bet Turkish leaders have that scenario in mind when asking NATO to set up missile defense. We should be wise and moral.
6. oh..please
les ,   canada   (12.16.12)
great "iranian generals". get on your camels, and ride in to the sun set already.
7. Turkey playing with fire.
Uzziel   (12.16.12)
They act like the bully of the neighborhood invading the airspace and territorial waters of Greece, Cyprus, Armenia, Syria and Israel to cite known examples and when someone lost his temper and responds they run to the NATO seeking shelter. Obviously it´s not like perfoming genocides against defenseless civilians like the kurds or the armenians...
8. Iran is edgy
Stephen in New York   (12.16.12)
Why would Iran interpret defensive missiles as a provocation that could lead to war unless Iran had its own aggressive intentions in mind? Perhaps Iran feels under strain. Notice how the Iranian threatens "the future of Europe itself."
9. World War
WWW ,   denver   (12.16.12)
... yah ... the world against the mainiacs controlling iran

11. The general must've missed something.
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (12.16.12)
Namely how close the Turkish-Iranian ties are, and have been for the last couple of years.
12. Iran
Deepak ,   Mumbai   (12.16.12)
Look who's talking. The Iranian General should not forget they are biggest candidates to begin a World War. Let them examine their own statements in the past & you wouldn't need a genius to figure out where the fault lies. A piece of advice for the General. Rewire your brains. Israel is small but they've invested time & talent in innovations that benefited all peoples of the world. Unfortunately they've had to deal with many crazies around them. Had there been peace always imagine what they could have achieved. Still time to change course Iran.
13. Iran: Patriot missiles in Turkey threaten world war
Stephen S ,   Australia   (12.16.12)
In fact, the US decided to put in place their Patriot missiles along the Turkish boarder long before any scud missiles were even launched. So that shoots down NATO's US commanders comment as total lies! Just like the mongrel dog Obama Pupet. The people of Australia don't want the US on our soil either. Gillard will ousted next election!
14. After Syria, all roads lead to Iran
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (12.16.12)
General does not like odds stacking up against inevitable regime change in Iran and sabre rattling is all he has The mess from 1979 has festered long enough

17. # 2 and his foul cursing
Frisbie Monarch ,   USA   (12.16.12)
Look at this thing in # 2 curse the Lord's name. It would not only blaspheme His name with his dirty mouth, but the thing even has the gall to write it out. This is where Ynet news should have enough sense to draw the line in Comments!
18. #1 actually
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.16.12)
You can show no sympathy to the Turks, they started it by intervening to overthrow Assad: legally speaking Turkey started the war. That aside, for reasons of "power politics", the Turks, Saudis, Qataris and Obama decided to install a Sunni Jihadi regime in Syria. If you can stomach the 50000 dead, and the eventual genocide of Syrian Christian, Alawi and Shia, you have to admire Obama for outsmarting Putin. What will happen next will be interesting.
19. Let's Finish The Job
ASTRONAUT ,   ME, USA   (12.16.12)
already. How many more years is the Free World going to put up with Iran's blowhard threats? Bring it on, Hassan. Then stand back and watch your terrain go into meltdown.
20. This time I agree with Iran.
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (12.16.12)
The world must create a Kurdish Republic between the two bandit state, to avoid world war.
