1. Muslim, buddhist, hinduist
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (12.26.12)
population are also stable in GB. What is not stable is christian, british people. Britannia is on the verge of collapse.
2. Stable - but ridiculously fragmented
Tim ,   Brighton   (12.26.12)
From Haredim who will have nothing to do with Orthodox who will have nothing to do with with Federation who will have nothing to do with Masorti who will have nothing to do with Sephardi who will have nothing to do with Reform who will have nothing to do Liberal who will have nothing to do with the Non Practising Stable or papering over the cracks?
3. Figure is understated
Anthony Kent ,   Borehamwood   (12.26.12)
some ultra orthodox Jews will not respond to any census (rabbinic instruction) and other Jews don't want to be on a religious register with their name and address.
4. Most Haredim don't even complete the census so it's heavily
Marge   (12.26.12)
Undercounted. Jewish population is most likely double this if not much much more.

Though no precise figures are available, we can make good estimates. In 1998, the size of the UK Haredi community was 27,000. Since the Haredi population doubles every 20 years, it will only be 54,000 in 2018.
6. Correction at #5
Vlad   (12.27.12)
The Haredi population doubles every 12 to 20 years, so 54,000 Haredim, might already live in Britain, but it's still not that many.
7. Manchester Haredi community is estimated at 100,000
Middleton   (12.27.12)
the whole census results are flawed.
8. The Muslim population in UK is *not* stable
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.27.12)
The Muslim population is growing rapidly - doubling between 2001 and 2011. Muslims now outnumber Jews in the UK by at least 10 to 1. As to the Jewish population, it may have stabilized in the last year or two, but it's still down from an estimated 400,000 40 years ago. Within those current numbers there's a familiar demographic shift: emigration, intermarriage and small family size among the UK's more liberal Jews, larger family size among the UK's ultra-Orthodox.
9. #8 I will say the same about Washington DC.
David ,   Vancouver, BC.   (12.27.12)
I went there in 2001 and again in 2011, it was all black now, and Muslims in Muslim clothing. All living in DC, the heart of the American establishment..
