1. Schass
basri ,   paris   (12.18.12)
I suggest chass leaders wears a burka to protect women from their vues.
2. Why is it undemocratic?
Andre ,   United States   (12.18.12)
Should a party not have a choice who they would like and who they would not want on their list. If they don't want women on their list, then they don't have to. Why should someone else decide who should be and should not be in your party. If the public doesn't like it, simple don't vote for them. That's what democracy is all about.
3. they are the keeper of jewish culture, laws and tradition
Yonathan haokip ,   israel   (12.19.12)
4. All this ranting, is a sure sign of secular dispair.
S Judah ,   Jerusalem   (12.19.12)
5. democracy
michele ,   paris   (12.19.12)
With all the respect to the Halacha, Israel is supposed to be a secular state. It does not help its image as the only democracy in the middle east, besides being unfair and its against every principle of 21 century. Shas and UJT should be admitted to the Knesset only if they change this internal rule
6. Women Combat Pilots
Zechariah   (12.19.12)
Charge the IDF with discrimination for not having 50% of combat units occupied by women .Its ridiculous. This is their culture it's not ultraatheistic humanitarian and there are revolting faults but also in the corrupt secular parties in the lack of modesty human trafficking and eating pork in German restaurants on Yom Kippur what is that.
7. Undemocratic?
Aaron Kuperman ,   Baltimore, MD   (12.19.12)
While for an Ameran perspective it is anti-democratic to ban the opposition, most countries in the world (e.g. Cuba, North Korea, etc.) would totally agree that those who are politically correct should be banned from politics and shunted of to a gulag. How can Israel be a modern state if it has dissent?
8. "Don't like it. don't vote for it" is a lie.Since haredi men
tomas kalowski ,   tel aviv   (12.19.12)
are running the show it matters zilch what the haredi women think or wish. Assuming that they still are able to do so. A person brought up in a religious home, in a haredi ghetto, under haredi "education" has a posicle's in Hell chance to shake off religious oppression and truly "see". Not until religion is banned from political life (try doing THAT!:-) will mankind be free. Until then we'll have democratically chosen Hamas (not to mention certain European party from last Century).
9. 5 Democracy - why secular?
S Judah ,   Jerusalem   (12.19.12)
Israel is supposed to be a Jewish State as well and in any event this is a false cry. They could well have women applying to stand and they would just not get voted in , so whats the point
10. Religious women must be brainwashed solid to agree.
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.19.12)
How can a woman vote for any of these parties? How can a woman be married to a man who votes for them? How can she deliver a child to this world who will continue this religious "tradition"? The resistance should have come a long time ago, directly from and under the leadership of religious women.
11. These leftists oppose outlawing anti Israel parties
Mordechai   (12.19.12)
These same leftists cry democracyt when people suggest outlawing Arab parties that ban Jews from being members, support Hamas terrorism against Jews and deny the right of Israel to exist. If its against democracy to outlaw parties that support violence against Israel then is it not against democracy to outlaw haredi parties because you disagree with their positions on women. If you disagree with Shas and UTJ as I do the solution is don't vote for them. Outlawing them is asking their supporters to turn to violence because if they cannot be represented in the government peacefully you leave them no other option. Should Meretz be forced to put settlers on its list because its discrmination. Should Labor be forced to put capitalists on its list? Should Livni be forced to put an intelligent person on their list. Of course not the voters determine what party they choose and the parties should be left alone to choose who they wish to run
12. Why is habayit hay'hudi silent on this???
kippah seruga ,   Israel   (12.19.12)
13. Abuse of Halacha
Tambour ,   Eilat   (12.19.12)
Dispensing falsified laws as Halacha for base objectives is an abomination Some claimants to rabbinical titles are as far removed from Judaism as members of another religion. I blame Obadiah Youssef who ought to know better than to let the ignorant barbars run amock with tennets of Torah Miriam, Deborah, Golda, and the millions of women in society shows up their lies
14. I would rather live in their dark age,
Daniel   (12.19.12)
than you "enlightened" secular world.
15. 14 you state the obvious! LOL
Thinking Jew ,   Israel   (12.19.12)
16. Choice is neither dilemma, nor between Torah or Dark Ages,
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   www.netzarim.co.il   (12.19.12)
Choice is between Torah of the Creator of the real (logical-scientific) world versus Dark Age rabbis of Costume Jewry who are up to their eyebrows in Dark Aged enforced ignorance, consequent injustices contrary to Torah & Halakhah and the inevitable resulting khilul ha-Sheim, lashon ha-ra and motzi shem ra. The cup of Israel is full to the brim with rabbinic injustices, extortions, persecutions, corruption, slander, etc. That is NEITHER Torah NOR Halakhah!!! They have made themselves into the modern Sadducees.
17. Hilarious
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.19.12)
The same Leftists petitioning against Shas were happy to pay Shas tons of money for support of Oslo I, the ethnic cleansing of Gush Katif or Olmert's kleptocracy. This is just electioneering for the extreme Left to build up their "anti Shas" creds.
18. women or no women is not against our laws
Jrebecca ,   modiin   (12.19.12)
but attacking the state is. So if a party does not want to have women in it, that's the party's problem, but when a party has someone on it who physically attacks the state - that is a problem. But for our seculars, attacking the state is less of a problem than not including women, by their own choice. Just like the rest of the secular world, where houses are more dangerous than bombs and threats of annihilation. Seculars here have lost the plot.
