1. PA leaders fighting for palestine
tiki ,   belgium   (12.21.12)
It reminds me of the story about the scorpion & the frog, where the scorpion asks the frog to take him to the other side of the water, but being who he is, bites him before the goal is reached and they both drown. The PA leadership doesn't care about 'building Palestine, but drowning Israel.
2. Yes, But
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (12.21.12)
B"H - Yes, but Israel has no "occupied territory" according to International law and according to its own law. In order for a territory to be "occupied" it had to have a sovereignty before the "occupation", which Judea and Samaria did not, as the previous Jordanian occupation of these lands, from '48 to '67, was not recognized. But all this is irrelevant. What is relevant is that G-d gave this Land to the Jews and that's that. Read your Bibles people!
3. The PA "power-drunk"?
Cameron ,   USA   (12.21.12)
The PA has become the very definition of corrupt & insecure. The Hez or Hamas flexing their muscle is one thing, but the PA quite a lower grade matter.
4. ICC
Jules   (12.21.12)
If the "Palestinians" go to the ICC, Israel should claim compensation from the Arab countries for the loss and suffering of 850000 Jews exiled in 1948.
5. Wait till their hang-over
Ypip ,   Canada   (12.21.12)
and realize they're still a non-existent state.
6. The PA will never learn ...
robert r ,   belgium   (12.21.12)
All the Arab countries, inclusing the Palestinians, have always taken the wrong decisions. Nothing changes, really...
7. Unelected leader
ehoop ,   UK   (12.21.12)
of a terrorist enclave trying to influence the outcome of elections in a democratic state through blackmail. So where's the news?
8. who is to blame?
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.21.12)
Netanyahu and Lieberman are to blame. For four years, Abbas humiliated and insulted them, refusing to negotiate and upping his demands. In response, they froze Jewish building and accelerated Arab building. For four years, they increased Abbas' power while reducing Israel's power. What do they expect him to do now? If they had kept building for Jews until Abbas agreed to negotiate, this would not have happened.
9. # 2 on relevancy
Michael ,   Haifa   (12.21.12)
You are going to lose your case at the International Criminal Court, if you base it on mythologies. But it doesn't really matter, since our case is already lost there, simply on the basis of International Law.
10. Palestinians power-drunk
mat ,   uk   (12.21.12)
palestinians kept telling lies all the time that israel is their land the world got use to it and that is why they are power-drunk what ever they complain about israelEU UN happy to be with the palestinians and if you tell enough lies people will believe it including yourself maybe israel should start telling lies
11. # 2
David Konig ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.21.12)
Try explaining that to the Chinese. God whoever and whatever he is has nothing to do with the matter and is certainly not recognised as an international authority. Clearly man made international laws will decide the matter. Your private religious beliefs are respected but are irrelevent.
12. Palis power drunk because we were too lenient with them
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.21.12)
13. #9
Mickey ,   Sydney, Australia   (12.21.12)
Israels case in international law is very strong. The League of Nations granted the Jews the right to settle anywhere in Palestine in the mandate of Palestine in 1922. Paragraph 80 of the united nations charter accepts all,the mandates created by the league as binding on the UN. This was confirmed by the international court in the South West Africa case. Therefore, the settlements in the west bankare perfectly legal in international law.
14. So Since These arabs Are Drunk With Power
(12.21.12)
The Israeli Government NEEDS TO SOBER THEM UP, Once And For All!! Annex Judea, Samaria, gaza, Jersusalem And Move On Already!!!!!! Shabbat Shalom/Baruch Ha Shem
15. PA power drunk? thats funny lol
(12.21.12)
Is this Liberman new slogan?
16. International law
ALI ,   state of PALESTINE   (12.21.12)
Dont you people read the news. The UN recognized PALESTINE a state under occupation. That is that and get real. israel must comply and pull out its occupying army from our country and be a civilized neighbour. If it does not happen now, trust me it will happen one day. You know pateince is a virtue.
17. Palestinians power drunk
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (12.21.12)
Not only Hamas, but also Abbas, the PLO, the PA, shortly the Palestinians don't want and never wanted real peace with Israel. Of course Abbas will use the UN to impose sanctions on Israel, go to the ICC in Den Haag,… His recent behaviour can be seen as a personal war and rancor between him and Netanyahu. His quote, where he says to isolate Israel in the international arena, is meaningless because Israel is already more or less isolated after the defection of a majority of the EU states in the vote about the new UN status of the PA. More worrisome are his threats to organize mass demonstrations in the West Bank, to end the security cooperation with Israel… Is the latter a sign to close at least an eye on terroristic attacks in Israel and on settlements in the West Bank? What a kiss with Mash'al can do! From now, beware your back, Abu Mazen! Hamas took already Gaza, next move….
18. Bring down the hammer on Fictional Palestine.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.21.12)
"Palestinians" specialize in deluding themselves. We will soon have more than a million Jews in Judea and Samaria. Within 20 years, we will have well over two million. However, it's time to bring down the hammer on Fictional Palestine. No more games. No more gestures. No more concessions. Let us claim our more than 3,500 year old ancestral heartland once and for all. Make it totally clear that Palestine is forever fictional.
19. This quote sums up the whole shebang :
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.21.12)
"The Palestinians' tragedy is that instead of dedicating efforts to building themselves, they are focusing on trying to harm Israel. Instead of building their future they are immersed in attempts to ruin ours. "This strategy has led to nothing but failure after failure for them. They continue digging in their heels out of some delusional, suicidal power drunkenness," he said.
20. Has anyone bothered to extrapolate?
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.21.12)
Is Abbas seriously thinking he can win statehood by force or threats or violence or intimidation by itself without face to face negotiations with the very country thats sitting on East Palestine? Its a completely insane strategy thats going to shed more Palestinian blood, decimate the economy, dry up remittances and undo ALL the advances and improvements that we have built This is a strategy of no hopers, politicians too long in the job with no fresh ideas and too concerned about staying in their well paid jobs than making brave decisive decisions And all this while everytime there is a prospect of bilateral talks and Netanyahu calls more settlement building yet another opportunity goes Abbas has to sidestep the settlement issue to outcall and out manouvre Netanyahu to get talks moving without preconditions and then the rest follows
21. PA on a roll
Get Real ,   UK   (12.21.12)
Don't think it makes any difference who wins the Israeli election. PA believe they have world opinion on their side and are on a roll and will not desist from any of these actions until they make Israel concede to all their demands.Expect more of the same, so Israel must stand firm and strong in the face of the physical and diplomatic assaults that will be orchestrated by the PA.
22. PA declarations
kapriza ,   tsafon   (12.21.12)
Now don't those sound like words from a "Peace Partner?"
23. To N 2
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (12.21.12)
We, loyal friends of Israel, do endorse and defend her territory, her sovereignty and her rights as a whole. But excuse me; old Palestine doesn't belong entirely to your people. International Law, that ordered partition in 1947, must be respected. Of course, new frontiers have to be drawed, because Israel was attacked several times and she won the wars. We pray to the same God Almighty, but Law and Religion, into a Democratic World, can not be confounded.
24. Unlucky #13
(12.21.12)
Snore. Don't keep regurgitating ancient history to try and back up your lies. And get the hell out of my city!
25. 7
zionist forever   (12.21.12)
Your more right than you know Abbas was elected in 2005 and elections are supposed to be held every four years, so theoretically Abbas was supposed to have held an election in 2009. We are now going into 2013 and still no sign of an election on the horizon so Abbas literally is an illegitimate leader. This Palestinian love of democracy also only matters if your winning. Abbas is now an unelected ruler and when they did have elections when Fatah lost to Hamas for the first time they couldn't handle that and there were gun fights in the streets and pushing each other of rooftops. They remind me of the Assad regime, they hole presidential elections but the only candidate is Assad. Palestinians have elections but the only party considered acceptable is Fatah.
26. Israel should file for origninal war crimes
Carl ,   USA   (12.21.12)
How about filing charges against Jordan for the original war crimes invovling forced expulsion of Jews from Jerusalem in 1948 and the Jordanian legion's subsequent attempts to destroy every vestige of Jewish history and culture? And Israel needs to file charges against Abbas and Hamas for every terror attack since.
27. But Abbas promised he wouldn't pursue the ICC path!
HaifaGuy   (12.21.12)
And now he is! But he promised... I'm so shocked and disappointed! What an unexpected turn of events: an Arab leader who doesn't keep his word! I'm truly taken aghast by this(((
28. #16 - didn't you read the UNGA minutes?
William ,   Israel   (12.21.12)
The vote is a NON-BINDING vote. You won a popularity contest, that's all. Try reading the UN Charter, Ali. It clearly states that the UN has ZERO power to exact borders on any sovereign nation (that's Israel, in this case). It also states that the UN cannot rescind or replace ANY vote in the League of Nations prior to the UN's creation. That gives legal support to Israel's rights and to the land's label as "disputed" rather than "occupied". Or, just start with the many who promised they would vote in favor of your State at the UN. Their caveats were that YOU would NOT go to the ICC and that you would enter negotiations IMMEDIATELY with the end result being a peaceful coexistence of 2 States. Abbas violated that tacit promise 7 hours after the vote was made. The Intl community wants an end to this issue and is not with unlimited patience for your corrupt leaders' actions.
29. #24. Some assistance please!
Harry Wright ,   UK   (12.21.12)
Can you please supply me with a link which shows where and when that law was rescinded? And who were the signatories? Thanks in advance.
30. # 24
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (12.21.12)
Why should he listen to a nobody? I rather doubt you are the Mayor of Sydney.
