I don't understand why we are all so desperate for a peace treaty with Syria when it hasn't been any threat to Israel for decades. If we go for the peace we don't need it will cost us the strategic high ground and no doubt Syria would get the standard military aid package like Jordan & Egypt got. He would get to replace his Soviet junk with exactly the same modern American equipment Israel has which would cost us the advantage we have now, so were there to be a war Israeli casualties would be much higher.
