Longevity depends on two main factors: It is an interplay between Genes and Environment. Difficult to tell which of the two was the main contributing factor for individuals living up to their 80s and 90s. But for someone who has lived up to the age of 124 years, I think the main contributing factor is quite obvious. She had a great set of genesthat gave her longevity!!

By having best friends you can call and tell them how much they mean to you. A baby is born with the need to be loved and never outgrows it. Be happy and useful . And have plenty of luck,Charles.

By "how" i meaned the physical condition . I have seen people in the home in our birth town , they were not living , but vegetating . They needed help for everything , did'nt recognise their own children , and so on . Is this living ? Ora , all the best to you , and why not : a happy healthy 2013 . They can't feed themsleve , they need pampers , they don't recognise anybody , they can't talk , etc etc . You see this kind of elderly also here , in wheelchairs , with a caretaker . Sad to see . Regarding tranquilisers , i'll ask it to a doctor i know very well .

I just spoke to the doctor i know . traquilisers are ONLY given when medically needed , not to maintain them quiet . And even when they receive , they can eat by themselve , don't need pampers , etc , they LIVE and are NOT vegetating .

Some cases are reported of drug abuse . Also an article written by a "civil rights" person , a prendre avec des pincettes . And even he does NOT talk about a general practise . There are certainly cases where there is ABUSE of such drugs , in the same way that elderly are abused in other ways . But it's NOT a general rule .

a good doctor.Not all are that conscientious. I have seen elderly deteriorating very quickly in such a home.

And this doctor said what i wrote . Elderly are sometimes put in such a home because their health IS already deteriorating . Generally , when they are 100 % Ok , and have a good envirronnement , they stay at home . Those i have seen were already in this vegetating condition for a long time i was told in this home . PS no doctor can replace our beloved one , he wanted to make alyah too ....
