1. Did the General not teach you how to say the word "Yes"?
2000, 2001, 2008. Three offers made for a Palestinian state. Three rejections.

2. A failed peace.
Peace, what peace?
All I remember was death and destruction.
Oslo a total, absolute failure.
Rabin a failed Prime Minister.
Lipikin Shahak a failed peace negotiator.
michael Pielet ,
3. Peace..a Leftist myth!
Anybody who believes the majority of arabs want peace with the Jews needs serious therapy. Peace was never arafat's intention. He used Rabin, with "Shalom, Chaver" Clinton's blessing. Oslo brought back over 15.000 killers-a deadly virus-into Israel. The intifada started shortly after. Mr. Shaath-go fly a kite!
4. So go back to the negotiating table!!!
Shaath can do one thing and one thing only - return to the peace talks.
Anything else means he is a worthless tool of an Arab dictatorship that is proving to the Israeli people that it is weak and cannot negotiate, let alone sign a peace treaty with us.
Shaath - give your boss Abbas a kick in the butt and make him resume peace talks. Stop using cheap excuses to refuse negotiations.
We know Fatah is weak and you can't sign for Gaza.
We know whoever signs the treaty on your side will have to tell those refugees they are not "going home" to live in Israel - and the signer may get a bullet in the head for it.
But if you want to live in peace you have to MAKE peace, not just write op-ed obituaries about it.

5. Rest in peace
Of course the right-wing and ultra orthodox zealots can scream louder than me. It is their day job. Still, hear my whisper. Rest in peace Lipkin-Shahak. You served your country well.
6. Thank you Mr. Shaath.
Sarita Montiel ,
7. Mr. Shaat: Toda Rabba, Shukran
We have to live together. The challenge facing us now is that you, as most Palestinians (at least in the WB) have more in common with us than with your Arab compatriots. Think about it.
P.S.: I remember how you enjoyed the songs of Ofra Haza, z"l.
USA - Israel
8. Most of our Palestinian leaders are pathetic!
I sadly admit that our leaders, across the modern history, made us pay dearly due to their incompetence and miserable failure. We need leaders who are capable of paradigm shifting towards the benefit and luxury of the Palestinian people. Simultaneously, we need historic Israeli leaders to encourage peace and also be capable of paradigm shifting at their side. The alternative would be hell for all.
Palestine Ispalestin ,
9. #4 is it really dificult for you to understand that you
Cannot negociate And build on the palestinian land. A donkey CAN.
10. Arafat was a freaking terrorist .till the end
He used and abused the good will of many, peace was not in his agenda. Mr Shaath was used as well as I am tempted that he believed in the noble cause of reaching an agreement.
11. I really pray that a new generation of ppl
like them wil come...
It's also not a question of Left/Right - We can also find ppl like Shachak in the right, but usually their voices are not loud.
Arabs build on Jewish land,
commit violence and murder with
impunity, and get away with it.
michael Pielet ,
13. To Beauchard, Amsterdam
"right-wing and ultra orthodox zealots"
Who are these people? Please, inform
us where did you find them? In Israel? Is it a bad joke?
14. I'm not sure to believe in a 2-states solution
I believe in a 1-state solution where Arabs from Yudah-Shomron will get Jordanian citizenship with residence in Israel. And Arabs from Gaza will get the Egyptian citizenship or will make an independent small state. Later when everything will be stable we will make a kind of economical and cultural union with Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt etc...
15. Ask Nabil why he praised Jaabari in Gaza last month
"It is defending Jerusalem and Palestine in its entirety, by all means of resistance - by armed resistance, by political resistance, by going to the UN, by solidarity."
-Published on November 28, 2012 via MEMRI
16. Subdue the Viscious cycle
Subdue the Viscious cycle by a one state for two people's agreement with stringent security to exclude trouble makers. To even the population imbalances the closest relatives of The Holocaust Martyrs ought be allowed to vote projected to this decades population fourth million votes. Then Some Palestinians who have the capacity to live in peace with their Jewish neighbours say a tenth at first can return.
17. Another tragic loss for the Israeli IDF RIGHT ???
Israel suffers far more the Jews world wide suffer far more losses casualtys to the ravages of time the economic erosion of our people than any other race people but the Arabs are a close second ironicialy we both need another war with each other to boost us to a higher level because quite ironicialy and so peace mongers are worse than war mongers these days RIGHT and so any way rest in peace brave Israeli soldier patriot and so you served with honor distinction dignity some thing when I was born in 1944 did no not exist for Jews then and so I was born when there was no Israel we our race people were shot tortured for sport like Syria we need another 1973 like war in 2013 and so to save us before we revert back to conditions we have struggled 68 years that I know of to stop again rest in peace dear Israeli comrade but all those still living should see this as a reminder of what is still needed because death from old age is probably the most horrible way to go causing more losses defeats than any military defeat a military defeat is more like a victory compared to old age defeat the worst kind of defeat I know I am 68 need a miracle need medicial cures not yet known to save me our race people... THE NEXT BATTLE... the biggest battle ever bigger than may be even Moses at the Red Sea is how ironicially to have another Arab Jew war like 48 56 67 73 in 2013 the 40 th anniversary year of the 73 war... because the world wants to naturally of course block it... at all cost... return Arabs Jews back to 1935... only worse even than 1935 - 45 our problem is how to stop any reverting back to that form of a 1935 in 2013 a dedication needed what with so many Arabs Jews suffering dieing from old age other non military conditions other than military and so which is the most dignified way to die... RIGHT ??? Thank You... M.S.
18. Nabil Shaath : You Are Disgusting
I feel like vomitting profusely because of your article .You have just reminded me of the late Anwar Sadat who called the late Golda Meir " a noble foe " upon her passing away in late 1978. You make me feel you are a truly disgusting, repulsive, and insensitive Palestinian . I can see your twisted mind and soul and your sick spirit are quick to remember that deceased Israeli while you do not seem to bother a bit about the bitter feelings of depraved Palestinians . When one of us suffers a tragedy none of you , the so-called Palestinian Authority , cares a bit , and when one Israeli falls dead you are quick to eulogoise him . But I think I can manage to absorb that , after all , for decades already I have not had a sense of belonging to Palestine solely because of selfish and insensitive Palestinians like you .
Abde Karim Salim Sharif
19. Mr.Nabil best to see reality your people do not want peace
20. To #9 about donkey knowledge
My donkey knows that Jews come from Palestine.
We are negotiating about sharing Israeli homeland and Jewish homeland. Palestine will be the national homeland of the Palestinian people. Israel is the national homeland of the Jewish people.
If you say there is no such thing as the Jewish nation, then my donkey reminds you that there would also be no such thing as the Palestinian nation, in which case my donkey says he'll take over both sides and call it donkeyland and invite you to be in his government.
Brian Cohen ,
Judean Peoples Front
You cry about "depraved Palestinians". But what do you do about it? Don't you understand that with your attitude there never will be a peace of any sort?
If you would adopt Mr Shaath efforts, we would have peace many years ago.
So don't cry anymore, because it is all your fault.
22. I feel myself happy at Christmas ......
because of Palestinian Nabil Shaath's beautiful words about Israeli General Amnon. Although there is a lot of difficulties, a honoured peace deserves always a chance. Our God Unique do wants it. Firmness is necessary, Jewish friends. But radicalism must be avoided.
Luiz F Haddad ,
23. You won't find this translated in Arabic
Id like to see that, calling an Israeli a Sabra in the Arab press. Not likely, just the old double speak trick.
