3. WOW! I still will NOT buy something make in Turkey!
For years Jews did not but German goods because of the Nazis. Now we should boycott Turkish goods becuse of the Neo Nazis or Muslim Fundamentalists in Turkey! I hope others will join me!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (12.23.12)
4. turkey scared of syria, iran and russia
Erdogan hates israel;however, with forces opposing him, his general stuff says bring israel back in the fold. Israel, do not give iron dome to turkey cause he will give it to iran and putin. and do not give it to putin who now has turned out to be like stalin-small man paranoia.

5. Mark up a success...
...for Mr Netanyahu and Mr Lieberman.Turkey blinked first. Now make Obama and Abbas blink first.Don't be cowered by mendacious power-mad tyrants. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!

6. As if Turkey is doing Israel a favor!
A ,   Belgium   (12.23.12)
7. Hmm
Either NATO read Turkey the riot act, or Turkey is beginning to understand that it is helpless without Israeli aid. Or both. Probably both. Turkey is choking against the mess in Syria and the fact that their so-called "allies" in Teheran already have troops in Syria. So they do what everyone else does -- scream for Israel to come and help. We should just let them stew in their own juices. Turkey is not a friend of Israel. Neither, for that matter, is NATO. Let them handle their own issues. Israel should sit this one out.
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.23.12)
8. Correcting a mistake, and a comment
The article writes "Ankara cut off such cooperation after the Israeli army raided a Turkish ship carrying humanitarian aid..." The Mavi Marmara was a passenger ship and carried no humanitarian aid or cargo. As for Erdogan. He talks like a big man and threatens everyone, but as soon as the Syrians look at him he begs the Americans and Israelis to protect him. Hopefully the Turks will get rid of him soon.
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.23.12)
9. A test for Netanyahu
Does our wonderful leader have the intelligence to pick up the gauntlet and make a reciprical gesture - better not hold our breath.
Taxpayer ,   Hod Hasharon   (12.23.12)
10. To no 8
Erdogan is a big baller ? And history shows the isreal desperate to restore relationship with turkey ? Turkey is strong when it come to deal with dictators who has a chemical weapons ? An not afraid to use it ? Turkey will care about Syrian citizens ? And don't forget isreal always ask the Americans to protect them against Hamas rocket wich not eaven explode ? Or makin a flat tire ?
Moh Yemen   (12.23.12)
11. Good news!
Reuven   (12.23.12)
12. This was the condition
of NATO for the deployment of the Patriots, Turkey had tgo agree grudgingly. But as long as AKP is in power in Turkey we should not trust her. Erdogan Sultan just had to bow to reality, which is that NATO in the long run cannot renounce the technical and intelligence knowledge of Israel, not to speak the mastery in terror fighting!
Mira ,   Vienna   (12.23.12)
13. Bibi - Your Move
Good step by the Turkish PM. Now it's Bibi's turn to make a move. Turkey and Israel are good for each other and natural allies. Let's put the past behind us. My guess - NATO said no Patriots without this move - but a good move nonetheless.
Andrew ,   New York City   (12.23.12)
14. Incomplete and unimportant news
A deal was reached between other NATO members and Turkey. In order to back Israel up, Western NATO countries were blocking cooperation between Turkey - NATO and some Arab countries (Egypt - Tunis and Jordan). Both Turkey and Western countries will no more block cooperation, drills, seminars, etc. As to Sarah's post: We do not need any Israeli help. Probably will never need. First solve your own problems like Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, then come and comment about Turkish intervention in Syrian conflict.
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (12.23.12)
15. #1 NSA was spying on Israel during wartime...
and passing information to Israel's enemies. USS Liberty was a regrettable incident but let's stop spreading misinformation.
NSA Cryptologist ,   Maclean, USA   (12.23.12)
16. To #3 Products made in Turkey
In Canada the only Turkish products available are crappy dried figs that go on sale for $1 every now and then. We don't have much to boycott.
Marty ,   Toronto Canada   (12.23.12)
17. turkey lifts ban
Turkey started to act the insulted chicken, when Erdogan insulted Shimon Peres and walked out on him in Davos at the WEF, and not like a year later with the Marmara affair. It was all calculated and not a reaction on the raid.It was strategicly oportune to worsen relations with Israel then, its oportune to inprove them now. Thats all.
Isaac of Vienna ,   Austria   (12.23.12)
18. #9Taxpayer He's already passed the test brilliantly
Mr Netanyahu has the sense not to make the appropriate gesture...with 2 fingers. The days of apologising to your enemies are over. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (12.23.12)
19. sipahi @14, you are being illogical at best or
hypocritical at worst. On one hand you are interfering with Israel's affairs by helping HAMAS's propaganda of lies and on another hand you direct Israel to try to solve its HAMAS problem.
leo ,   usa   (12.23.12)
20. Cooperation
Thanks to last minute ultra-cheap Austrian "gel diffraction filter" technology (Gesegnete Weihnachten und ein glückliches neues Jahr!!!!) now Turkey produces Hyperspectral satellite camera for detection and analyzing electromagnetic spectrum. No need to buy Israeli Elbit's electro optical "Chariots of fire". Who needs tracking Syrian camouflaged and buried uranium movement with this techno? Turkey produces composite / ceramic armor too. Turkey doesn’t need Israel anymore, Israeli general Amos Yadlin says but I don't believe. Politics is a Science.
Obsessive ,   Turkey   (12.23.12)
21. How much theis is going to cost me or EU ??? ,...

22. Turkey and NATO
turkey needs nato more than nato needs turkey. turkey is surrounded by enemies russia, syria and iran. turkish military is western supplied. erdogan's irrational hatred of israel and of jews in general will only lead to his humiliation. erdogan should drop this childish hatred and concentrate on his people's welfare.

30. #10 moh
Israel asked the US to defend it against Hamas rockets?! Where did you get such drivel? Post your sources. Israel created Iron Dome, built functional units, and used them successfully. I understand how bad that makes you feel, but no reason to make up your own fairy-tales just because you can’t stand the truth.
