31. looks like the Jewish lobby got to us
Melissa ,   US of Ara   (12.24.12)
I volunteer for the HRW. I gotta admit wewere shocked Israel didn't go in with a ground assault. But we have documented Israeli war crimes regarding the intentional bombing of a poor innocent Palestinian family of 12. Why didn't we condemn that is my question. I'm going to stop volunteering at HRW in protest along with some of my friends. Also quite a few people there had thought Israel showed great restraint, which I do not agree with. I'm willing to bet that the Jewish lobby planted their own people in HRW. I seem to remember an unusual amount of new volunteers at the Castro and 18th st location. And I remember a few instances where they were saying they aren't pro Israel but said they can see great restraint amongst Israels army with all the firepower at their disposal. I'm putting in my resignation as of now. I now consider HRW to be Pro Jewish.
32. after an hour of looking
the mad zionist ,   sf-ny-is   (12.24.12)
There is absolutely no mention of this on BBC, CNN, MSNBC. The only other news source that has mentioned these findings are Fox news. I atleast thought id find it on cnn and bbc but with the words war crimes in parenthesis. When I googled war crimes I found thousands of old articles mentioning Israeli war crimes, how convenient! The US media and the worlds media are so biased it's disgusting. All of them are in one way or another and I'm including Fox news too of course. I happen to love pbs and npr but the second they talk about Israel they are guilty of the same thing. I just want there to be honest reporting. If Israel commits a war crime (a real war crime) I want it reported just as much as if the opposite is true. I worry about the world for this bias in the media, becausea majority of people are extremely naive and only believe what they want to hear. Factcheck.org should start it's own news channel but not owned by a corporation, and run by an equal amount of people with all differentiating views striving to give the world honest reporting, I know that's wishful thinking but that would be a great thing.
33. #8 you are right
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.24.12)
The 190 dead or so in Gaza are perfectly legal and innocent acts. The 130 Hamas soldiers are combatants who started attacking Israeli civilian targets. The 60 or so civilians killed by Hamas or accidental IDF fire are innocent victims of the Hamas decision to base themselves in urban areas. These deaths are also a Hamas war crime. You should be glad that Israel attacked. If the UK or US attacked, instead of 60 civilians, there would have been 260 dead.
34. take hamas to the hague and throw them in jail
mofi   (12.24.12)
hamas the wh ole group belongs in jail. HRW should take action following its report that hamas violated the rules of war and not just be happy wiht a report. of course hamas would not take action cause it was haniyeh and zohar who are in bed with the izzedine rocket brigade.
35. What happened - Saudis do not grease HRW anymore?
leo ,   usa   (12.24.12)
What is so special about this November, where were you before?
36. Melissa @31, do not be upset. Nobody here
leo ,   usa   (12.24.12)
believes in HRW's good graces and you still can volunteer with them without fear of being impartial.
37. Arabs will now say HRW there is a Jewish mole(spy) in it.
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.24.12)
38. starting to clean up their act
Sol ,   America   (12.24.12)
They kicked out Richard Falk, the Hamas loving anti semite, and now they are actually reporting on war crimes committed against Israel? Good job. Israel needs to be held accountable for it's actions, but it is sickening when nobody holds Hamas accountable, despite the fact that they are far more guilty. Like 1000x
39. HRW does the right thing - for every 17,000 rockets fired
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (12.24.12)
against Israel there will be one (1) HRW criticism against Hamas terrorists. That seems to be the formula of "human rights watch". Now do we wait for another 17,000 rockets from Hamas terrorists in order to earn a second HRW criticism ?
40. Who honestly cares about Melissa@31
Ben ,   fantastic Israel   (12.24.12)
who still seems to live in a box!
41. Good Morning HRW
shmulke ,   w coast USA   (12.24.12)
All the information you are citing for the first time ever has long been confirmed by the noted investigator N.S. Sherlock. This is a pathetic and transparent attempt to show your organization is unbiased, and will not undo all the years the HRW has been demonizing Israel and the Jewish people.
42. #15 Get Real,It IS there
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (12.24.12)
This is reported on BBC ME News site, but the BBC has told us through clenched teeth. Before bothering to mention that HRW says indiscriminate firing of rockets at Israeli civilians is a war crime, the BBC reports on the illegal aspects of firing the rockets from population areas. As the HRW says, that could cause injury to people near the launchers and draw defensive fire from Israel. To the BBC THAT is far more important than the potential danger to Israeli civilians and property. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
43. #31 Thanks for giving the reason
Get Real ,   UK   (12.24.12)
as to why the HRW didn't condemn Israel this time round. We all knew it had nothing to do with the misguided missles fired into Israel. Your resignation protest highlights your bias against Israel, otherwise you would have left the HRW long ago in protest at their constant anti-Israel and pro-Arab stance. Should be plenty to occupy you if you take a look at the situation in Syria but you may find it difficult to pin any blame on Israel there.
44. wow now that is news!
koose e mack ,   ny ny   (12.24.12)
For once they are not condemning Israel for defending its populace..... and calling the slimebag terrorists out for targeting innocent Israelis! Now there's a change!
45. There maybe a U.N. resolution condemn HRW for telling truth
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (12.24.12)
The E.U. and BDS will condemn HRW for deviating from the usual anti-Israel line.
46. #39 ANSWER IS YES
Get Real ,   UK   (12.24.12)
based on the HRW definition of proportionality which is the number of rockets fired relative to one condemnation.
47. A bad joke
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (12.24.12)
If this is a joke, it isn't funny. As HRW well knows, the prevailing rules of war are that: "Whatever Muslims do is OK, and don't even think of doing anything about it", and "Whatever Israel does or even thinks about doing is inhumane, and must be stopped."

49. to no 1 wow
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (12.24.12)
mazel tov this wonderful news H R W. BUT I MUST POINT OUT THAT THE PALESTIANS CARRY OUT HORRENDOUS VIOLATIONS AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE IN GAZA.
50. #31 melissa
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.24.12)
And where is your documentation of “intentional bombing of a poor innocent Palestinian family of 12”? You can easily see it, but only with your eyes and ears tightly closed to reality.
51. UN upgrade may have change playing field for bothsides
Bscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (12.25.12)
UN move on a Palestinian state also means more responsibilities for both sides in keeping the peace and playing by international rules.
52. #52 bscot
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.25.12)
In theory, yes. But given Abbas' insistence that Israel has no legitimacy, and the Palestinian ploy of good cop, bad cop with Hamas, they laugh at what you call their responsibilities.
