2. The one thing that nobody can accuse Meretz of
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.26.12)
Is having either Israel's best interests or any brains. Only total idiots would ever trust another document signed by Arabs. They have violated every treaty they have ever signed
3. Clearly Meretz Chairwoman Zahava Gal-On is brain dead
Neil B. ,   Jerusalem   (12.26.12)
Does anyone take Meretz seriously anymore? There is a real chance that Meretz will not pass the threshold on election day. What a shame!
4. the new Zahava
Debbie   (12.26.12)
I saw her on TV and didn't recognize her face, only her voice. Complete makeover of her face. Zahava, if you read this please tell us what the plastic surgeon did to you and where. Your brain is the same but your looks certainly have improved.
5. Experience shows that deadlines lead to stalling
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (12.26.12)
Experience shows that deadlines lead to stalling by which ever side thinks it will be better with the enforced default end result. Thus if it is based on the Arab document, it would mean that after 4 years Israel would have to give up East Jerusalem and all land liberated in '67 so the Palestinians have no reason to negotiate. If the document says that the security wall is the default then Israel has no incentive to negotiate. In the past 20 years, deadlines have only made things worse
6. but Oslo has been dead for years...
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (12.26.12)
What is there to rescind? First you have to bring it to life in order to rescind it. Oslo is long dead, buried and forgotten in the grave of grave political mistakes that no one wants to talk about or remember.
7. why we know the Meretz plan WILL work
zionist forever   (12.26.12)
The only countries Meretz wants to involve as mediators are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey. I am sure we can trust ever single one of them to be totally neutral and not favour either side. She has also committed herself to handing over the Golan to Syria as soon as the civil wars ends, apparently its going to bring peace. I got a feeling Gal-On will be having another tantrum in January blaming the whole country for not being left wing enough to give her the predicted 7. seats.
