1. It's only tacism when jews do it
(12.28.12)
Arabs denying jews from living in their cities? completely acceptable. unless those 'settlers' are physically removing them from their homes, i don't see how that whole "want to expel Arabs from Lod" is even a valid argument. enough with the tribalism.
2. arabs are welcome in Europalestine.
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (12.28.12)
all it takes is an airline ticket to Europe. The European's will welcome the pals gladly and make sure they have all their needs met, for free! Line forms on the left, no pushing, no shoving.
3. Settlers? In Lod? Palestinian flag? Fifth column!!
SG ,   Teaneck   (12.28.12)
4. The Jewish State
Ron ,   LA   (12.28.12)
The Jews better get a handle on this one. The only way to deal on Israeli land is to find the offending Arabs, arrest the offending Arabs and deport the offending Arabs.
5. break this arab action now. hit them hard very hard
ralph   (12.28.12)
6. When will the left call Lod a settlement?
Daniel ,   Beer Sheva   (12.28.12)
Thnink twice.. pieces now supports the aggressive amulsims claims to expel jews from al of israel. After all the racist arabs claim something, so the braindead hating left much do their bidding
7. More tolerance, please
Ferdinand ,   France & Israel   (12.28.12)
I disagree 100% with this Arab protest. I think it's misguided and I find it ridiculous to talk about "settlements" in this context. Still, I am saddened by the constant and never-ending racism directed towards all Arabs and all Europeans by almost all talkbacks on almost every ynet-article. Is Israel really becoming so Middle Eastern that people start to lose the ability to disagree with others in a civil way? That would be a terrible shame.

(12.28.12)
You are absolutely right. Many people answer here with irrational anger to what they find as outrageuous towards jews and they feel like acting the way their enemies do. But this is definitely contrary to jewish/israeli principles and this is clearly unwise and lets say it completely stupid. I also agree with you about this demonstration: I think that this also shows that some arab israelis are ideologically oriented to hate jews and I believe Israel must adop policy curbing this violent hatred among those kind of extremists.
9. Islamic Movement acts like KKK if blacks move next to whites
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (12.28.12)
I see no difference between the Islamic Movements vulgar bigotry toward Jews moving into "their" community, and the Ku Klux Klan's violent protests in the US when a black family moved into a white neighborhood. Except that that this kind of "protest" has been illegal in the US for decades, outlawed as a hate crime, and the KKK is extinct, we got rid of it and its cross-burnings. Israel should have the same courage to ban and dismantle the Islamic Movement as the hate group that it is. Use the same tool the US did to eliminate this kind of illegal "free speech" - allow the Jewish group to sue them for millions in damages, and dissolve the Islamic Movement when they don't pay the judgement. It worked in the US, and it will work in Israel. Time to throw this trash and its followers out of Israel. No country puts up with this.
10. WHEN DID THE ARABS NEVER PROTEST ANY JEW AMONG THEM?
stude ham   (12.28.12)
NEVER! and the rest of the world falls for these gimmicky paliprop perversions. let the arabs know this... we thE jewish people are back in our lands to stay in our lands. BUILD ISRAEL BUILD!
11. Also Lod is in occupied territory ?
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (12.28.12)
Then all occupied territory where jews live, in New York, Moscow, Budapest. Antisemites suggest to jews to find new homeland in the Andromeda Galaxy.
12. Jews live ANYWHERE they want in their own land.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.28.12)
That land is ISRAEL.
13. "We are not afraid "
Transparent ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (12.28.12)
Two points. People who are not afraid dont wander around with a sign claiming that they are not afraid. Secondly ,there is no reason to be afraid, rather the opposite for these people will in all probability improve the otherwise deplorable civil administration in Lod.
14. Lod Arabs
AL QUDS ALYAHUDI ,   QUDS HAKA ALYAHUD   (12.28.12)
WHY NOT TO EXPEL THESE UNLOYAL ARABS FROM LOD 7 OTHER PARTS OF ISRAEL.? THE ARABS EXPELLED THE JEWS FROM THEIR COUNTRIES, AND NO ONE SAID A WORD. SO NOW IT IS THE JEWISH TURN TO EXPELL THE ARABS FROM OUR COUNTRY, TIT FOR TAT. ISRAEL WILL COMPENSATE THE ARABS TO OPEN MARKET VALUE OF THEIR PROPERTIES. JEWS NOT YET COMPENSATED SINGLE CENT
15. Today..."Thirty-three percent of the population are "olim""
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.28.12)
Wikipedia... "...captured by Israel, the Arab inhabitants were mainly expelled and the city was settled by Jewish immigrants, most of them refugees from Arab countries. Of the former Arab population, only 1,056 inhabitants remained, and they were not permitted to live in their own homes."

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.28.12)
I guess the Arabs shouldn't have gone to war and lost, then, eh? But lose they did, and there are consequences. But the account is incorrect. The Arabs were NOT expelled, they were NOT forbidden to live in their own homes. That's just Arab hyperbole and aggrandized fiction. But they did lose the war, didn't they? And they are not "refugees," are they? They are Israeli citizens to this day, and they must abide by the laws of the State of Israel. If they don't like those laws, or think that there is some mechanism that should be put into effect to prevent JEWS from living in the JEWISH STATE -- those malcontent Arabs are free to move elsewhere. I'm sure they can find homes more to their liking in, oh, say, Syria ... Lebanon ... Egypt ... Tunisia ... Libya ... Saudi Arabia ... the Sudan .... wherever. If they're that unhappy Israel, no one is forcing them to remain.
17. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.28.12)
Why should Israel adopt any policy other than deportation of malcontents? Let the Arabs spend two weeks in any Arab country of their choice .... they'll be much more respectful and properly docile upon their return. They don't know how good they have it in Israel. Giving them a chance to properly appreciate how lucky they are would be an eye-opener. Of course -- they are free to stay wherever in the Arab world they migrate. The Arabs forcibly expelled one million Jews from their homes; nearly all were forced to leave with little more than the clothes on their backs. Their business, homes, property and bank accounts were all confiscated. Turnabout is fair play. Why should we behave any better toward them than they behave toward us, despite everything we have done for them!
18. #15 seems like a fair trade, doesn't it?
(12.28.12)
"most of them refugees from Arab countries" arabs kicked the jews out of their countries, same jews kicked arabs out of their city.
19. #15 Benassi - That's a nice fable
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (12.28.12)
Keep on telling it, maybe you'll find some sucker that will fall for it Arabs Urged to Flee from Palestine in 1948: Arab and Independent Sources Document That Arab Leaders Urged Palestinians to Leave "The fact that there are these refugees is the direct consequence of the act of the Arab states in opposing partition and the Jewish state. The Arab states agreed upon this policy unanimously and they must share in the solution of the problem." -- Emile Ghoury, secretary of the Palestinian Arab Higher Committee, in an interview with the Beirut Telegraph September 6, 1948. (same appeared in The London Telegraph, August 1948) "The most potent factor [in the flight of Palestinians] was the announcements made over the air by the Arab-Palestinian Higher Executive, urging all Haifa Arabs to quit... It was clearly intimated that Arabs who remained in Haifa and accepted Jewish protection would be regarded as renegades." -- London Economist October 2, 1948 "It must not be forgotten that the Arab Higher Committee encouraged the refugees' flight from their homes in Jaffa, Haifa, and Jerusalem." -- Near East Arabic Broadcasting Station, Cyprus, April 3, 1949 "Every effort is being made by the Jews to persuade the Arab populace to stay and carry on with their normal lives, to get their shops and businesses open and to be assured that their lives and interests will be safe." -- Haifa District HQ of the British Police, April 26, 1948, (quoted in Battleground by Samuel Katz). "The mass evacuation, prompted partly by fear, partly by order of Arab leaders, left the Arab quarter of Haifa a ghost city.... By withdrawing Arab workers their leaders hoped to paralyze Haifa."

21. Lod is a city in the Jewish State of Israel
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Zion, Zion   (12.28.12)
muslim arabs have the arrogance to think that they can tell jews where they can or cannot live. islam is a supremacist and imperialist religion. islam waged imperial wars for 1,400 years. they converted the native populations, destroying synagogues, churches, hindu and budhist temples, and built mosques on top of the ruins. today, musims continue this practice by flooding countries and using oil money to build radical mosques and madrassas. this will continue for as long as the west does not put a stop to it.

Ferdinand ,   France & Israel   (12.28.12)
To Sarah B. You ask why Israel should behave better than Arab dictatorships. With all due respect, the question says a lot about you. Israel should behave better because that is what sets Israel apart. Israel is a democratic country where people's rights are respected. Israel is not the richest country in the Middle East, not the biggest either. It IS the most democratic and civil country in the Middle East. If Israel loses that, it has become like any other country in the region. I know most Israelis would never let that happen. Unfortunately, having read your earlier posts, it doesn't surprise me that you want it to happen. Israel is a democratic state, a state where morals are upheld, a state where people behave responsibly. It is unfortunate that so many people in these talkbacks wants to see Israel as any other Middle Eastern country with no respect for civil rights and the rule of law. I am glad that you are a small minority.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.28.12)
Do you really think that the international community pays attention to your admittedly entirely valid points? Our high moral ground has not won us any respect, but it has seen us massacred in the hundreds of millions. Have you read "Constantine's Sword?" You should. The author posits that had the Jewish population of the world been left to the vagaries of natural increase and decrease, Jews would number 330 million today. Well, we don't. We're roughly at about 13 million. So I'm tired of being a force for moral good that everyone ignores expect to the extent that they tell us that they "expect" us to behave better. I'm more interested in the survival of the Jewish people and of the State of Israel. I don't care what has to be done or how many people may die or be dispossessed to preserve Israel.

25. Once I read "organized by Islamic Movement" I knew the theme
William ,   Israel   (12.28.12)
They are incredibly racist and often work to create division between Arabs and Jews in Israel. They also threatened the honorable Bedouin in Beer Sheva who decried Shalit's kidnapping and demanded his release.
26. Interesting Fact
Mike ,   Jerusalem   (12.28.12)
The Arabs of Lod, and Ramle too for that matter, that live there today are descendants of Bedouin from the south that moved into these cities following the flight of the native Arab inhabitants of these two cities in '48...

Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (12.29.12)
I find it remarkable how the racists come out of the woodwork. According to this article, the 'Arab-Israeli ' citizens were protesting ...'religious Zionists engaged in ...social outreach'. What kind of 'social outreach' is never mentioned. Is it 'outreach' geared toward removing those dastardly citizens of the state who aren't Jews from their property? Seems likely. But to most, such reasoning is irrelevant. By the way, most Arab residents of Lod were expelled, or not allowed to return to their homes after 1948. They were, for the most part, civilians who didn't want to get caught in the crossfire and have suffered the theft of their homes and property by Jewish interlopers. Pity how lies are propagated by Zionists and their supporters. Funny how the 'Jews' want justice over Germany's depredations and theft of Jewish propert in WWII, yet the Jews absolve themselves and justify their thefts of Palestinian property after 1948.

Bertram ,   London, UK   (12.29.12)
There we have it. There is nothing special about the Jewish people, or, indeed, Israel. There is no morality in a war of all against all, merely 'survival of the fittest' - until, of course, the fittest become unfit. The dinosaurs are a case in point.
