Court cuts Anat Kam's prison sentence     Aviel Magnezi
1. This is an injustice. She is a traitor.
She deserves life in prison.
Reuven   (12.31.12)
2. She's a convicted felon
Now it appears that she is an aging, ugly and overweight felon. Congratulations, Justice Solberg. You're the only one that got it right.
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.31.12)
3. She is lucky that she did not get 25 years in prison
What this soldier did was borderline treason and I felt her initial sentence was too lenient. Now they cut her sentence?
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (12.31.12)
4. Unhappy camper. Time will tell if she learned the hard way.
It will only be after she is released that we will learn if Kam really is remorseful for breaking the law and being severely punished for it. So far the statements indicate that she regrets her actions and was young, ideological and stupid. Let's see when she's outside prison if she's matured, is respectful of the law and has learned that you don't violate your vows to uphold the law.
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.31.12)
5. I wonder why respect for the judicary is diminishing
what a traversy... the court of injustice that loves traitors and other criminals and is cruel to the victims. Today I am disgusted to be Israeli.
Daniel ,   BS - IL   (12.31.12)
6. Comparng to the US traitor J. Pollard she did nothing wrong!
Mary   (12.31.12)
7. Why not reduce her sentence?
After all the Attorney General refused to prosecute Zoabi who raised her hand against the country that feeds her. When is the Judiciary going to realize that it has become the scorn of the people of this country and criminals are laughing at it!
David ,   Israel   (12.31.12)
8. Comparing sentence of recipient and thief is strange
Comparing the sentence of the recipient and the thief is strange. She deliberately stole classified documents with the intention of passing them on, and did. He received them without asking for or helping take them. Somehow his getting off with a lighter sentence makes sense to me.
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (12.31.12)
9. Lieberman should find out from her why she's privileged
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.31.12)
10. entitled
Citizens are entitled to know what an army does . You never now if outside forces will use them contrary to their role as protectors of the people.I don't blame soldiers who protect people , but one must make sure those giving orders are not influenced. Supervision is needed for the higher ranks of the army.
john ,   toronto   (12.31.12)
11. Should be out of prison
to stand in the election after next? Possibly in Ministry of Information?
Get Real ,   UK   (12.31.12)
12. 2 is an empty barrel making no noise.
(12.31.12)
13. Legal System Sham
Who the Hell is running the country the legal system is a sham is anyone over there doing anything about it? Lieberman is indicted but traitors and spies run free.
Bill Stein ,   USA   (12.31.12)
14. No - she did exact same thing as J. Polard !
I cry injustice - she probably knows how to pout prettily.
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.31.12)
15. #14 Pollard traited his own COUNTRY for MONEY to a FOREIGN
countries intelligence and received afterwards the statehood of the foreign country, and many people from this country do all what they can to get him free and to insult people who insisted in justice. The young girl loved her own country and wanted to do the best to her own country without getting money or foreign statehood. And also does not get compassionate support of a foreign country or of members of her religion.
Mary   (12.31.12)
16. What a joke of the leftists court system. we need more right
wing lawyers and judges! 3 years half inside her cushy home for leaking 2000 documents to the press???? if in the us shed get 2000years
hippocrates ,   earth   (12.31.12)
17. Not convicted of Treson
Anat Kam was not convicted of treason. She did ot give information to the enermy and did not plot to overthrough the soverenty of the nation. 3 years is quite sufficient for such an offence. She did not waste police or court time unlike many of our politicians who have found themselves under investigation.
Tippi B ,   TA Israel   (12.31.12)
18. Of course, she's a privileged leftist
Rachel ,   US   (12.31.12)
19. Then one place in the female prison
will be vacant one year earlier. I suggest as new tenant, Zoabi.
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (12.31.12)
20. To: No. 17
Did she or did she not pass along thousands of pages of confidential documents in contravention of Israeli law?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.31.12)
21. Sounds like a great woman
Doing the right thing isn't always easy.
LibertyRising ,   Chicago, USA   (01.01.13)
