4. What's with the leftist onslaught?
EGGM ,   Petah Tikva, Israel   (01.01.13)
All of the last 10 op-eds or so on Ynet have been written by extreme leftists—ones talking about how immoral our army is, how the settlers are going to kill us all, and now how crappy life is in Israel. You can really tell it's election season and it's clear whose side Ynet is on. And to the extreme left I say: if you don't like it here, please leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
5. bet she's a lefty-looney
Merhaba   (01.01.13)
sounds like one...
6. Eizeh lazy loserit! Run for office, you whiner!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (01.01.13)
It's better to stop whining and get off your lazy butt. What a loser!!!!! If you don't like society, then change it!!! Join a political party, run for your local council - put your mind to fixing the problems you want fixed and do something about it!!! Writing an op-ed dripping with depression is useless. You like culture? GET OUT AND PROMOTE IT! You want social justice? GET OUT AND WORK FOR IT!!! Cripes.
7. Poor depressed girl. Bad Israel failed you.
Miron ,   USA   (01.01.13)
Everyone she wanted to live on died. Everything she wanted failed succeeded. Even her own health is better than she wants it to be. The party hosts are pfofiteers unworthy of her looks. Even the New Year itself seems to be Anti - Semitic... well... remotely. Only Chinese lighten her moods. I wonder what she had in those bubbles...
8. Yes dear Smadar, when illusions burst it's time to face the
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.01.13)
reality and THEN dance& sing!
9. Let me understand
TruthMonger   (01.01.13)
You don't want taxes, but you want the government to subsidize the tent people et al. You think everything abroad is better, like in Greece? Portugal? Spain? Italy? USA (fiscal cliff, near 10% unemployment) France (Just raised taxes more than Israel and higher unemployment) Iran? Iraq? Afghanistan? Egypt? Syria? Sudan? Yes maybe Canada is better off, but when you look at our general state of affairs you should appreciate more what you have, yes we are not perfect, but rhetoric is not the way to fix it, get engaged in constructive ways to fix what we have, it is easier than going off to Denmark and starting anew.
10. Understand your angst - but one does not have to
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (01.01.13)
celebrate in a social atmosphere for the New Year. Just do something special; for instance, eat pizza, see good movie, buy best ice cream and some chocolate liquer. I don't see reason for more than that.
11. ynet is so predictable
Carl   (01.01.13)
12. Listen and look
Enry ,   Metulla, Israel   (01.01.13)
Listen to "always look on the bright side of life or "what a wonderful world" also look at the young and optimistic couples having a good pleasurable kiss. If this doesnt help ,go see a quack but dont tell us about it.
13. to 12

iam 63 years old i celebrate the new year as a new oppurtunity to do my best .. as iam living to do
14. more none sense doomsday rhetoric
nadav ,   tlv   (01.02.13)
What is it with this new Israeli generation? Where is this defeatism coming from?! Compared to Israel's situation between 1948-1988, Israel was isolated, had economic & political relations with less than HALF of the world's nations, was still waiting for Soviet Jews to repatriate home, and recovering from decades of bad socialist policies- which we are still trying to move past! 1) Israel today has relations with the majority of the World's nations, including India, China, and several Arab and Muslim countries! 2) Israel's economy is not only strong, but growing rapidly and a world leader in many hi-tech fields! 3) over 16,000 Jews immigate to Israel every year, and few Israelis are leaving (many are actually returning!). 4) We have excellent relations with North America, new relations with Central and Eastern European countries, etc 5) Israel is a stable democracy and has a vibrant economic, social, and political system. In short, things are not perfect, but it certainly isn't as bad as the author claims (no doubt she's a Chavista leftist agitator!) She, like the other populists, SHOULD LIVE WITHIN THEIR MEANS!
