The USA went over the fiscal cliff years ago... I can't help but get the sense that the average American has no idea about the ramifications of all this. The 1.2 Trillion dollars the US added to it's debt last year appears to be meaningless to most folks down there. If you divide that by 365 then 24 then 60 then 60 you get roughly $38,000... The US Government spends $38,000 a second more than it takes in... Anybody from grade 2 on up could tell you that this is not sustainable. Not only does it have to stop, it has to be paid back. The question is do you jump (or get pushed) off the payment cliff now or wait until China, Japan, Australia, or Switzerland, or where ever else you borrowed the money from demands it back? The rest of the world is now only calculating when the USA will go SPLAT... It will surly not be a pretty day....

Elections have consequences.

Obama is not the great guy our media portrays. He is underhanded, highly arrogant, and grossly incompetent. People say he is for the poor because he says the rich are to rich, but his policies only make the poor poorer and the rich invest elsewhere. But when all this fails and he gets the tax increases and military cuts and all that he likes watch him STILL blame the recession that follows on his opposition. I don't know why American Jews vote his party, the Republicans are far more pro-Zionist.

Are why all Americans love Canada. We would kill for Steven Harper about now. Whenever things go badly we all vainly say "I'm moving to Canada" but we never do.

Politicians can all declare victory. The rich see income taxes go up 4%. Everybody else gets their taxes raised too - by 2% if they work for somebody else, by 4% for the self-employed making $110,000 or less. Happy New Year!

In the wake of this last week Obama suspended the freeze on pay so in March Congress and the Senate along with Biden and federal judges will all be getting a raise. How is that for trying to lower spending. If this was a private company Congress will be all over them for taking raises. As of now only Senator Portman and Congress woman Bachmann have expressed displeasure with this.

Just to make all the little children think they were actually going to cut taxes $1.6 Trillion Dollars . So are they saving 60 billion dollars every year for 10 years...to make a 600 billion dollar cut to the deficit?. Last week they couldn't even find 120 billion to tax the so called rich for each year. Now suddenly...they found 600 billion dollars? You have been played successfully by Obama...... AGAIN!!!
