1. Eventually, they'll end up in Israel
Vlad   (01.14.13)
Just look at what is now happening in France. The growing Muslim population is committing antisemitic acts on a massive scale, and many French Jews are coming to Israel. Germany has a large Turkish population, and approximately 1 in 5 Germans hold antisemitic views. Only a matter of time.
2. Israel, only Israel...
nadav ,   tlv   (01.14.13)
my parents chose to move to the US instead of Israe when they left the USSR in 1979. Both my brother and I have chosen to make aliyah to Israel. Only in Israel, where the Jewish language is spoken and where our culture, traditions and holidays are publicly practiced unhindered or diluted, can Jews truly live a full and fulfilling Jewish life. Personally, I think its appalling that Russian-speaking Jews would move to Germany, where still walking the streets are the very people who murdered our families!
3. Russian Jews in Germany
(01.14.13)
Most of the Russian families in Germany are mixed Jewish and non-Jewish. The Jewish members are mostly elderly. A great part of the younger ones are not Jewish and do not care to be, so they will marry Germans and leave the the Jewish People altogether. Only a small number are interested in being Jewish.
4. #3 Doesn't make sense
Mark ,   London, UK   (01.14.13)
if it is true that new synagogues are being built all over Germany.
5. #4, Yes, it makes sense
Jake   (01.14.13)
Because the increase in number of synagogues is due to the activity and initiative of a minority of committed Jews, not the assimilated majority.

9. Germany is doing a great job to help Jews
Tova ,   Canada   (01.14.13)
There will be those of you who disagree with this statement. But Germans have done alot, for us to continually expect Germans to do more will not change the horrific history of the holocuast or their survivors. Many Russian Jews don't care about Israel. The Russian Jews marry non-Jews, but they all want social benefits. Soviet Jewry changed. Germany with a dark history at least has a new generation of youths who support israel. In Israel I met many Israeli who prefer Germany over Russia. That is woth thinking about.
10. 9 - Germany is doing a great job to help Jews
split ,   US   (01.14.13)
Why do the Jews always need a help or favors, can't they make it on their own, relying on themselves?,... How can a Jew look for or accept handouts from Germans is beyond me ,...
11. #10 There's a whole lot more beyond you, split

12. Just like Jews everywhere
AY ,   USA   (01.15.13)
The Jews from the former USSR have been mostly secular. And like Jews everywhere they are making every day choices of how to be Jewish in a non-Jewish society (in the Jewish society, the choice for them is made by Haredi parties on which Knesset coalition depend). As for being freeloaders, German is not an easy language to learn, but most employers demand perfection. For jobs not requiring any language, Germans already are reliant on the Turkish population.
13. German roots of Soviet Jewish...

In 1928 the Soviet Union have set aside a territory of the size of Belgium for Jewish settlement, officially acknowledged as a Jewish national territory a first since ancient times (Birobidzhan) The Jews got a land and after less than a decade of its existence as a Republic have failed dismally just like the settlement in Clarion US (Utah) couple decades earlier that lasted less than five years before disappearing into oblivion. The Jews have failed where others like Amurians, Chinese, Mormons and other nations before them managed to survive and prosper?,...
