1. It took years for railroad to see
J Public ,   USA   (01.02.13)
its trains are dirty ???? New top management needed. Management needs to ride the trains themselves
2. Sigh....
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (01.03.13)
Another week, another scandal. I watch from the fleshpots and wonder why Jews seem so incapable of running their own country without corruption of just about all sorts. I'm here, not there, so I give no lectures about a situation in which I make no contribution to a solution. And maybe the number of scandals is because Jews are diligent about ferreting out corruption and reporting it. But I sure wish I could believe the second half of that sentence. (Sigh.)
3. long time, no see
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (01.03.13)
Soooo, no one noticed the not to clean trains for a loooooooooooong time. Hmmm, sounds like a group that needs a change from the TOP on down.
4. When I was riding the train it was reasonably clean.
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.03.13)
It was a while back so maybe the corruption started recently? The trains from Tel Aviv to Beer Sheva were clean and pleasant to ride. There was overcrowding at times, but not much dirt to complain about. Which doesn't mean there wasn't corruption, only that the corruption wasn't affecting the high quality of the train ride. When you catch the perpetrator and convict, put him in the cell with Moshe Katzav, please.
5. Time to clean house
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (01.03.13)
take them to the police and recover all the stolen funds and jail the culprits. Why did this take so long to 'discover'.?
6. Neal WE have our own scandals here
bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (01.03.13)
many US politicians ( and business men ) have been tried and judged guilty to similar frauds. Jews are no different, corruption has no 'religion' or exact place, it's universal.
7. reality
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.03.13)
Since they are part of the union, no one really expects them to work. Taxes will be raised on the "rich" (people who work) and the money given to the union workers and not to the real poor. Then, Shelly will cry crocodile tears for the poor people, taxes raised again, and more money to the unions.
8. Here go the Yanks again!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (01.03.13)
At the time of writing there were 7 comments. 1 Israeli, 6 Americans! Yes, Yanks whose country almost fell into the Fiscal Abyss and they have the nerve to criticize us! Actually, the trains are pretty clean and would be cleaner if people didn't put their feet on the seats and that includes a group of rude American kids that I had the misfortune of sharing a carriage with. Of course nothing will happen because the Union is the boss and humiliated Netanyahu and his Minister of Transport Israel Katz. Instead carrying the Government's threat to shut down the Railways, Netanyahu, Katz and the Treasury paid EACH Railway employee NIS50,000! With an election 3 weeks away, I wonder why?

you are an idiot - why criticise America and Americans? how is that relevant?
10. That explains their bad safety record
Haim ,   TA   (01.03.13)
Maybe that money they stole could have been used to safety training and proceedures, bit to late for some
11. embezzlement in Israel Railways
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (01.03.13)
About the embezzlement, fraud or corruption case uncovered in Israel Railways I'm only reading what the papers wrote about it. Every 3 months I take the train 2 times: Be'er Sheva - Tel Aviv and vice versa. Personally, I find the wagons not very clean, but clean enough for me. In Europe it's almost the same. A train on a fixed route A-B (between 300 or 400 km) is during the night thoroughly cleaned (in station A). At 5o'clock he starts and arrived in train station B, the cleaning team has 15 minutes to clean that train very quickly: taking newspapers, empty bottles, … away, cleaning the toilets, etc… After 3O minutes he leaves again towards station A. The same thing happens in station B: good cleaning during the night, at 5 o'clock he leaves for station A, etc…. Both trains do their route 6 or 7 times a day. Shortly: on his first ride the train is very clean, the other times - like in Israel - just clean enough. The travelers themselves must act more disciplined: not leaving food residues on the benches or tables, throwing empty bottles or cups in plastic bags, be careful not to spill coke (cola) on the seats, etc. ..
