31. What a childish response from the PM office
David ,   Israel   (01.04.13)
The fact they make it out that a man not involved in politics would only say such things because he wasn't named head of Mossad says a lot about the way MKs operate and makes what he is saying more credible.
32. From the horse's mouth...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.04.13)
"The prime minister's personal and political interests, he said, always outweigh those of the State. " Remember this on election day!
33. Diskin ? SHUT UP UR BIG LEFTIST MOUTH
(01.04.13)
34. diskin has no respect for the State
(01.04.13)
35. the ego of this man is HUGE !
(01.04.13)
36. REMEMBER THIS WHEN YOU GO TO VOTE
TC   (01.04.13)
Netanyahu is not good for Israel's future, Netanyahu is only good for Netanyahu's future. The same goes for Barak. Give Yachimovich or Livni a chance FOR A CHANGE.
37. #26 - Very very poor reasoning
(01.04.13)
Could be impressive if you were on the Shuk or in the Coffee shop....
38. #31 is 100% right: PM's offfice answer is pathetic
(01.04.13)
39. does he have a better alternative
zionist forever   (01.04.13)
Shelly who is an ammeter in all things except telling us Labor is a centrist party and not a left wing one. Livni, the woman behind 1701 who doesn't even seem the slightest bit interested in Iran or defense in general. The pampered prince Lapid Bennet whose priority is settlements and is another rookie to politics. Eli Yishai who can pray for our safety but thats about it. Liberman might be able to drive the Iranians so mad with his speeches that they will give up the nuke just to lee him quiet. Gal-On - the leader of Meretz, who would probably say its in the interest of region to let Iran have a nuke. Last but not lease we have Tibi with his partner in crime Zouabi He is far from perfect but Bibi is the only experienced politician and he is the only party leader with military experience both in the Yom Kippur War and in special forces. When you don't have a very impressive lineup anyway you have to take the best of what you got even if they are not ideal.
40. new politician
c cohen ,   rehovot israel   (01.04.13)
Diskin obviously feels that he could do better. Will be a "new face" in politics in the near future.
41. Bibi trigger happy or weak?
yoc ,   nyc   (01.04.13)
Choose one! Both is not an answer Diskin. Otherwise doesn't maker sense. Trigger happy is aggressive compulsive or weak is well the opposite.
42. Worse than I imagined... Bibi should be tried for treason..
Rafi ,   US   (01.04.13)
"The prime minister's personal and political interests... always outweigh those of the State...." This always APPEARED to be the case... now we have first-hand verification. How can Israelis NOT consider getting rid of this drek in the upcoming election cycle?
43. PROPAGANDA STUNT JUST FOR THE ELECTION. DID HE RESIGN?
tony ,   nigeria   (01.04.13)
44. Even so - who is realistic better choice?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (01.04.13)
Lets be serious, is there even 1 alternative that would make a better PM leading any of the parties running? Mostly we have -has beens - never had beens - no experience - being investigated - already indited -already convicted and served time Who is a viable candidate (in that both their party will get over 20 seats AND they are good PM material) ?
45. You must be Insane
Elizabeth   (01.04.13)
# 36........ You must be off your Nut. Who, in a thousand years would give either Yachimovitch and Livni a chance to rule Israel. Both of them (my opinion) would sell Israel to the dogs if they got the chance. Israel, I hope you will forget your suggestion. I shudder at the thought that these people are being paid, with the Tax payers money to spout so much shit!
46. Not a pure soul
Zechariah   (01.04.13)
Dichter is not such a pure soul he has a lot of blood on his hands . Netanyahu is supremely crafty but balanced despite his horrible arrogance. Also it's difficult with all those ego megalomaniac tribes in Israel moulded by the helplessness of the Jews and Barbarism of most of Europe in WW2.Even the majority of the Dutch especially the Police Reek of Cowardice and Opportunism.
47. Outsider looking in.
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (01.05.13)
I understand when a top military official shakes their head in disgust at certain situations. Most military men are prejudiced to find answers militarily, instead of politically. The security of Israel has to be Netanyahu's TOP priority, otherwise he would have been thrown out of office years ago. It is obvious Diskin did not approve of how Bibi handled the latest clash with Hamas. From my point of view; I understand it to be ***if*** Hamas has another go at Israel, Gaza will be razed and Hamas will be evacuated once and for all. If that is not the case, then I totally misunderstood what Bibi accomplished through Morsi? Time will tell.
48. if looks could kill
hp ,   usa   (01.05.13)
He looks like ha's got the Cheka in him.
49. they all look alike to me
hp ,   usa   (01.05.13)
Ha! Ha! A face only a mother could love. (and she might be 'jivin him too)
50. You are all missing the point
Sol ,   America   (01.05.13)
They aren't too weak because they aren't war hungry enough. They are too weak because they care more about their own interests than Israel's. If you are for peace make peace. If you are for war, make war. But do not let your own petty motivations get in the way.
51. Diskin
Nimbus ,   Caesarea Israel   (01.05.13)
Diskin's fine for those who lead decirleael that at a time like this that has the responsibility to choose them, where there's smoke is because it brings water
52. nothing new
Zsolt ,   Wanganui,NZ   (01.05.13)
There is nothing new here. Modern day politicians, copying western style "free democracy" are by default more interested in their own agendas, legacies, profits than in the wellbeing of the nation. The election campaign is a good example, as long as people follow individual politicians, parties, the separation, fragmentation will always be stronger than unity. Israel needs to pursue its own path, based on our history, the blueprint left for us from our sages, sources. All our holidays symbolize national unity pulling out the nation of Israel from certain destruction. This unity, this mutual guarantee has to come from below, from the people producing new type of leaders. Therefore, it is a must condition for every nation to be strongly united within, so all the individuals within it are attached to one another through instinctive love. Moreover, each individual should feel that one's own happiness in the happiness of the nation, and one's decadence in the nation's decadence. One should be willing to give one's all for the nation in a time of need. Otherwise, their right to exist as a nation in the world is doomed from the start.” (Rav Yehuda Leib HaLevi Ashlag [Baal HaSulam], The Writings of Baal HaSulam, “The Nation” [Ashlag Research Institute, Israel, 2009], 487.)
