31. #5 Stan. Israel is fed up with your leftist lunacy.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.06.13)
#5. Those polls you cite are clearly skewed and ridiculous. If they were even remotely accurate, there would be no right wing in Israel. They are self serving leftist crap, No, no sane Israeli would allow the further division of Israel. Israel has had far more than enough leftist lunacy. Virtually all Israel's worst problems stem directly from retreats and concessions championed by leftists.
32. who is foolish?
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.06.13)
Although he is a skilled writer, Hendel's opinions crash and burn on reality. Note to Hendel: exactly as predicted by the Zionists, when you start with your dismissive "annexation is foolish" we end with rockets on Rishon. This is not a fantasy. Just over a month ago rockets struck Rishon. If Hendel (and the rest of the extreme Left) fulfil their fantasies, we will have uninterceptable rockets and mortars on Netanya, Kfar Saba, Raanana, Shoham, Modiin and the airport. Now tell me, who is foolish?

Now, you know and I know you are deliberately missing the point here. The point is that those proposing annexation are simply out to exploit the spoils of war. That's been the argument of Sarah B, bless her, except that she also confuses it with legalistic baloney. So, let's drop all pretense of the rightful ownership of 'Judea and Samaria'. No nation has the rights to any land, 'ownership' is always the outcome of war, conflict and conquest.

Thank you for the advice to look at the ICJ website. Having thoroughly searched 'Judgments, Advisory opinions and Orders by chronological order' the only references to the territories under discussion was in 2003/4 were to the construction of the barrier. No reference to Jordanian citizenship and inhabitants of the West Bank. The facts are that after 1967 Palestinians living in Jordan retained Jordanian citizenship but inhabitants of the West Bank did not, and while they could be issued with Jordanian passports for travel purposes these did not confer Jordanian citizenship. So, still waiting for your references.
35. Bertram #34
Keren ,   IL-BR   (01.06.13)
I´ve never seen or heard about any country that issues passaports for " travel purposes" without being that recipient a citizen of that country.
36. #19, 4 million arabs? are you counting chickens & goats too?
Yosi ,   Gilo-Jerusalem   (01.06.13)
Where are you getting this 4 million count? From the trustworthy arabs? Get real! It's not a wacky idea to send these arabs back to where they came from. Will these facist Europeans moan & groan? Yes, but who cares. Our land, our rules.
37. Annex Judea/Samaria. Pay Arabs to leave.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.06.13)
This is the real solution. Finally, it has reached mainstream Israeli politics.
38. To No. 35 Keren
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.06.13)
West Bank residents can apply for five-year Jordanian passports but they neither confer citizenship nor give the holders national identity numbers. Similarly, there are different categories of British citizens who may hold British passports but not all are entitled to residence in Britain.
39. #38 Bertram
Keren ,   IL-BR   (01.06.13)
Jordanians are smart,no?They want to leave the burden of "citinzenship" to Israe-you know, social security and everything-and keep only the good part-issuing passports. You know,I know, they know:"palestinians" are jordanian citizens.
40. annex it all, anyone that doesnt like it can leave
jack bauer   (01.06.13)
they dont have to live there. Plus there are over 20 arabs countries to go to if they want to feel like they are at home in islamastan. anyone who riots and becomes violent should simply be arrested and deported to jordan or egypt post haste. do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars
41. #19 but they already do have citizenship
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.06.13)
They got it 1950 and the ICC says that they can't take it away. They are in fact Jordanian citizens RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND. We do have the right to deport foreign nationals and international law states that their country MUST ACCEPT THEM.
42. Annex C
A Yid ,   Jerusalem   (01.06.13)
Area C has all the settlements and 5 percent of the Jews. It is a 100 gain for Israel to take it and a 100 percent loss for the Arabs. Let's negotiate about the remaining 40 percent.
43. Annexing the West Bank
Mark Ayres ,   Los Angeles, USA   (01.06.13)
The future of actual events should be quite clear to both Israelis and Palestinians. The Palestinians are not going anywhere and Israeli settlements are continuing to grow. You two people are destined (or cursed) to live in the same state. Make the best of it.
44. To No. 39 Keren
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.06.13)
Your last sentence is hot air. Unless you know for a fact that West Bank Palestinians are able to exercise their citizenship i.e. are able to enter Jordan freely, take up permanent residence and have the full rights of existing citizens in Jordan.
45. To No. 41 Gee
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.06.13)
Your use of upper case letters does not validate your assertions. First of all, International Criminal Court does not deal with these matters. Secondly, history is littered with cases of countries revoking citizenship. Thirdly, Israel may well have the power, rather than right, to deport all kinds of people as other countries have the power not to accept them. The Jewish people know about this only too well.
46. West Bank with Jordan Passports?
Can   (01.06.13)
Does that means Abbas travelled to UN on Jordanian passport to get Israeli visa to live in Israel? Jordanian passport means they are citizens of that country. So with their Jordanian passports they need Israeli visa.
47. #44 Bertram
Keren ,   IL-BR   (01.06.13)
If they can´t,that´s a problem with them and international laws, and it is in those instances that they must resolve their problems. Israel does not have to ,and must not, take care of other´s problems!
48. The Palestinians are Jordanian
Gershon ,   Canada   (01.07.13)
In 1954 Jordan declared all Palestinians were Jordanian. Law No. 6 of 1954 on Nationality (last amended 1987) Chapter 1 - General Provisions Article 1 This Law may be cited as the Jordanian Nationality Law, 1954, and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Article 2 In this Law, except where the context otherwise requires: "Jordanian" means any person who by virtue of this Law possesses Jordanian nationality;... Article 3 The following shall be deemed to be Jordanian nationals: (1)Any person who has acquired Jordanian nationality or a Jordanian passport under the Jordanian Nationality Law, 1928, as amended, Law No. 6 of 1954 or this Law; (2)Any person who, not being Jewish, possessed Palestinian nationality before 15 May 1948 and was a regular resident in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan between 20 December 1949 and 16 February 1954; Let them go back home.
49. Annex Area C now! And build E1 now!
Steven ,   San Francisco   (01.07.13)
Stop kissing the butts of the "international community and behaving timidly! Countries are not built by first asking foreigners if it's all right with them.
50. To No. 47 Keren
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.07.13)
No, since Israel has control of the West Bank the problem is Israel's. If Israel doesn't want the problem then the answer is simple: leave the West Bank.
51. NO ANNEXATION, NO PALESTINIAN STATE
PAUL ,   NEW YORK USA   (01.08.13)
THOSE WHO THINK THAT A PALEESTINIAN STATE CAN BE "DEMILITARIZED" ARE DREAMINING. IT'S THE FASTEST WAY TO INVITE IRANIAN TROOPS ONTO THE BORDER. ANSWER: LEAVE EVERYTHING ALONE. LEAVE THE STATUS QUO.
52. Annex Annex Annex
David Vincent ,   Paris France   (01.08.13)
#26 What are you doing in Canada ? Where you forced to swear allegiance to the Canadian State ? Why impose it on others ? do your aliyah and shut up !
