1. who is buying
Naftali ,   Modiin Israel   (01.08.13)
I don't understand who is buying these apartments? People on't make very much money and prices keep going up. Intrest rates are low but payments are still very high and you also need to have money for a down payment. I understand there are those that bought years ago and are now selling so they have profits in their homes so they can afford to buy a different apartment at these prices. but how many people are there like that? or is it just a circle the older people are downsizing and the families are upgrading so they are basically trading apartments. Just seems that someone who does not own property and makes even a decent living can never afford to buy anything. Also since many of the mortgages are not fixed what happens when the rates go up which they will eventually.
2. Good news?

I cannot tell whether this is presented as good or bad news. As in my country, rising house are deemed to be a "good thing" whereas any other sort of inflation is not. In my opinion, constantly rising prices is most definitely a bad thing. It misdirects useful investment and creates a bubble which is never politically expedient to burst. If and when the bubble finally bursts there is havoc in financial markets as lenders are left with loans on property which cannot be recovered. Look at Spain!
3. to number 1 - you are wrong

Israelis do earn plenty - there are many high paying jobs and that is the reason buyers can pay the price to buy in ... Rishon West, Shoham, Renanna, TA and many other upscale cities and towns.
4. Look to US for more affordable properties

One of the most profitable investments that I have made has been in a property in Pittsburgh. A company called PGH Investments provides a very professional service which finds an appropriate property and then manages the entire purchase and management process. I’ve seen a good return with almost no hassles along the way.
