The Egypt of the Muslim Brotherhood has come up in rapid succession with two apparent successes in twarting weapon smugling & terror planing. Egypt is dire need of an emergency loan & the IMF has been delaying a decision based on the instability of the political scene in the country. So it is not impossible that the Egyptian government is trying to shore up its image.

Egyptian authorities intercepting this bomb plot in Rafah, served a very important purpose. The perpetrators were planning to place a car bomb in front of a Coptic Church on January 7th -- the Coptic Christmas. Fortunately it was thwarted. Because what we must do is respect all people on their sacred days. All people including Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The Muslim Brotherhood leadership in Egypt did this for the Copts in Rafah. Hosni Mubarak declared January 7th, a national holiday for all of Egypt, and all of Egypt must respect it, regardless who they are.
