This article will probably shut up all but the extreme nutcases.
2. A set up.... High expectations for Lew to
turn the US economy around may be an honor... but if he doesn't.... I don't need to spell out who they're going to blame.
3. US economy is recovering.
This is such a resilient, powerful country. And Obama has put very good people to work for him in the past. Unemployment is still a problem because US has too many people for its highly automated work places.
The future will require more subsidies for those who will never need to work because machines (robots) have replaced them irreversibly. Jack Lew's assignment on unemployment will be to redefine the term "work" so that those who are not needed to do any work will not feel despondent. Maybe his familiarity with Haredim who don't work in Israel and don't want to work will be of benefit?
4. Treasury secretary
This is the WORST time to be Treasury secretary in American history. If the economy fails, they will blame it on the Jew.
5. Observant Jew in the whitehouse
Good for us. I wish him success and blessings from HaShem.
6. Lew is an Orthodox Jew.
Did he protest against those parts of the Talmud and Halacha that permit deceiving Gentiles? No, he hasn't.
So why should the Gentiles allow him to handle their treasury?
7. Jack Lew is an extreme leftist
he, like all obama nominees, are a reflection of obama.
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,
8. Orthodox, work and respected
It should be a sign for all that Orthodox can work and be respected both in government circles and with out.
Hear, O Israel, it can be done here too!
9. Anyone associated with Obama is not an observant Jew.
10. Mazel tov, Lew... Make us proud.
You are now our representative on the financial wheel of most powerful nation on Earth.
Do not forget that.
And do not forget the good Torah commands that made us great and powerful:
- Pay your daily wager by nightfall.
- Pay your night wager by dawn.
- Keep your scales clean and tidy, do not measure more or less.
- Thou shall not cut the corners of your field, you shall leave them for the poor
- Thou shall remember the widow, the poor and the orphan
Apply that to ALL nations and you cannot fail.
11. Must be Someone very special
Obama emphasized the success that Lew had in turning deficits into budget surpluses during the Clinton administration,
Nearest we'll get to Jesus turning water to wine.
12. Another Jew to blame
for the economic collapse caused by the increasing debt, and Socialist programs of the Kenyan Obama. It would be very wise, if this man had any Jewish consciousness to stay away from this dangerous regime.
Paul D ,
13. observant, orthodox jews wear kippas
14. lying puffpiece
15. someone send oxygen to
edith ann. A Jew controlling the countries money. quick edie honey get it out of the bank and put it under your cage.
16. negative talk backs miss much
Obama is not anti Jewish. Remember his closest adviser was Rahm Emanuel who helped him before and during the beginning of his presidency. Obama is a liberal, but he is very intelligent. He knows that people can help him and that there are small minded people like those who wrote these stupid negative feedbacks.
Obama knows to ignore stupidity in all people and draw intelligent people near him.
ma nishma ,
17. #16 is Rahm intelligent?
Despite having the strictest anti-gun laws, Chicago's gun-crime rate is something like 6 times New York's, mostly concentrated in poor black neighborhoods.
Rahm's solution: take guns from civilians in safe neighborhoods and do nothing for the poor neighborhoods where young people are dying.
I don't think Rahm is as intelligent as you say.
18. Antisemites are happy again.
A jew as finance minister in US ! Jew haters worldwide think it as a new evidence for secret jewish conspiration a la "Elders of Zion". Obama did not find a gentile person for the position ?
19. Obamas Token Jew
And of course Lew is a coward, or he just likes the paycheck he gets
Regardless all the anti-semites love it when Jews are in high places because they love being degenerates and then blaming the Jews when their life turns to crap
20. Lew the Orthodox Jew
Oh, and exactly where in theTalmud or in Halacha does one find that it is permitted to deceive Gentiles? Maybe it exists only in your typical anti-semitic imagination will you find such distorted drivel, "Avi" .
21. To #20, Ariye
There you are Ariye, check this link. You read Hebrew, so you should be aware of the dark parts of our heritage.
22. To #21 Moron
You get your information from an Australian bible site? From the most anti-semetic country in the english speaking world?
23. Lew the Orthodox Jew Reply to # 21
Poor Avi. Ignorance is bliss. So is prejudice. No doubt the "Blood Libel": is also "Gospel" to you.The following may help you, unless you are beyond help:
24. To #22 and #24
Ariye and Dave,
You are deceiving yourselves only. The link that I have provided is indeed from a non-Jewish source, but ALL the Jewish sources he quotes are accurate. Inconvenient to you?
Try also, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in tractate Sofrim: "Hatov shebagoyim harog". Pretty hateful, isn't it? Did Lew protest this saying?
25. Sorry buddy
I've studied Torah and Talmud and while there are protocols for dealing with gentiles (mostly for our own protection), it is not the hate filled document that your christian fundamentalist preacher tells you it is. You must really hate having the name Avi being such a jew hater.
26. To Dave #25: Words are cheap.
So how do you explain "hatov shebagoyim harog"? How do you explain "Torat Hamelech" that was just published in Israel?
We are deluding ourselves, or simply engaging in apologetics by denying this. The document that I cited before meticulously summarizes hate, i.e.-our hate towards others. It is a mirror to look at our spiritual face, warts and all.
27. #1 Obama hate Jews?
No, it's obviously the other way around if these talkbacks are to be viewed.
It seems hate is Jews' DNA, even to their benefactors.
28. To #21 "Avi"
Rabbi Simon Bar Yochai or Rashbi lived in the Judea in the first century and witnessed the destruction of the second Temple, the killing of the population and removal of many of the survived Jewish population by the Romans which was the beginning of the Diaspora. For him and many others in Judea the goys were the Romans, since they did not know any other goys (foreigners in Hebrew). If he said the best goys are those that are dead, he meant the Romans. Would not anybody said that after the Romans destroyed the country? As for you Avi, as I said in another talkback, you are a bogus Jew, who lies constantly by making false citations from the Talmud and the Scriptures, as was pointed out by others who learned the Talmud. If you are a Jew, which I do not think for a moment, you should shame yourself. If you are a non Jew, you are just a anti-Semite , not worst then the 1st century occupiers of Judea. Where are they now, while the people of Isreal (Judea) lives on.

29. To Steven, #28
While your explanation about the reasons for Rashbi's saying is probably true, and hateful saying as his "hatov shebagoyim harog" is probably reflecting the horrendous treatment given to the Jews by the Romans it brings about another questions: Why didn't the Rabbis of later generations qualify this by saying that it implies only to "Romans"? Because it doesn't! Orthodox Judaism believes that it refers to ALL GENTILES!
Instead of calling me names, you are welcome to find me any proof that Rashbi's words do not refer to all gentiles today! And while you are at that, please find me one halachic authority claiming that one is not allowed to deceive gentiles, even in situations where the intended victim is not aware of the deceit. Please, do not quote to me your own Rabbi from Maryland who says that Rashbi's words do not hold today, as most Rabbis today are adept at whitewashing the ugly reality. Find me a verdict by, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef saying one is not allowed to deceive the Gentiles even in conditions where retribution is unlikely! Please try!
And by the way, you end your talkback saying that the people of Judea, the victims of the Romans, live on. You are right about that. They live on in refugee camps all over the Middle East, while descendents of newcomer converts, with a strange ideology of hate are taking their place. You see, Steven, not only am I a Jew, but I had the pleasure of attending a yeshiva and serving in the IDF, where I saw that Rashbi's words are alive and very effective.
30. #29 - You obviously don't understand Judaism
We are not bound by a what a Rabbi, a man said thousands of years ago. Words are not law, only Torah is law. Rashbi said these things and they were the right things to say for the time, and they held true for thousands of years after his death, from no fault or action of the Jews. It is people like you who spread hate and misinformation that make the words viable today. You are only seeing a reflection of your own hatred. Jews don't turn the other cheek, we hit back 10 times harder.
