1. The tent people are Arabs, well Palest. Arabs
zinovy   (01.13.13)
terminology should be correct
2. The Arabs learned from the Jews
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (01.13.13)
The scariest part for this radical Israeli government is that the Arabs are learning to resist peacefully. They are using politics in the UN and tent building in the disputed territory. If this keeps up, the tides of world opinion will swing even further against Israel. The Likud will wish they tried to negotiate when they had the upper hand.
3. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander
Dodi ,   Hertzaliya   (01.13.13)
As predicted the typical Israeli double standards apply here. If the settlement had been set up by the illega,l jewsih settlers the authorites turn a blind eye to it. However the moment the Palestinians set up a settlement on which is their own land the authorities move in, double standards as usual
4. This land was given to the Jews 3000 years ago, NOT
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.13.13)
stolen from a batch of intruders.
5. My sad prediction
Ed ,   USA   (01.13.13)
The Pals were ejected and did not provide any violent resistance. Tomorrow we will read of hilltop youth setting up camp in the same area, and they will be left alone. The only way Israel could have saved face on this protest would have been to ignore it. Yet again, the Pals being evicted from tents make the current govt look like fools.
6. high court presents a clear and present danger
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (01.13.13)
the high court presents a clear and present danger to the state of israel. the high court regularly abuses its power and tends to side with palestinian law breakers who are financed by foreign governments and ngo's.
7. Yeah, Gandhi was a threat too
(01.13.13)
8. Jews are "evacuated", Arabs are "evicted"
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (01.13.13)
9. #4 Bunnie dear your living on an Indian reseveration
Avi ,   Israel   (01.13.13)
Thanks for the lecture on ownership of land, hate to break it to you but LA is built on land owned by the native American Indians, which is strange coming from you a person who lectures other on how to run their lives on the other side of the world but cant even commit to Israel by making aliah. Hypocracy dosent even begin to sum it up
10. Shame !
Salma ,   State of Palestine   (01.13.13)
Zionists closed one door to the Sun but we will always try to open many doors.
11. actions
rm ,   Amsterdam NL   (01.13.13)
See, Israel can act swift against lawbreakers....just one condition...they need to be Arab.....
12. If all Palestinian protest were non-violent
Snortwood ,   USA   (01.13.13)
The Israelis would welcome that and work with the Palestinians. This is a first from all I've heard and seen. Every "non-violent" protest to date has included rocks and various other dangerous objects. But peaceful protests? No Arabs were harmed in the clearing of this non-violent community, and none will be in any non-violent engagements. Imagine what might happen if that were truly the MO of the Palestinians going forward. TBD. Would be nice to see but, having raised a generation+ in hatred, I wouldn't wager too much on that non-violence holding sway for too many events. But it would be a wonderful change of pace, ay?
13. Double standards
Horatio ,   Haifa, Israel   (01.13.13)
Well if you are OK with these double standards then "progressing" to an apartheid state will be seamless.
14. Be Aware
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.13.13)
Israel's Supreme Court had ruled on Friday that the encampment could remain for six days. The government disobeyed the Supreme Court's ruling. No matter which side is correct in the Israeli- Palestinian disagreement, this eviction was against the law. If our present government will disobey the law in this case, it will in other situations too. Remember this on election day!
15. #10 Keep trying sweetheart, but it ain't going to be in E1
(01.13.13)
16. To #3
Izzman ,   USA   (01.13.13)
Since you live in Israel, you have an opportunity to get history lessons. The Land is not Arab land. It's Jewish land which dates back to Israel over 3,000 years ago. These Arabs never were an organization or a people. The Romans conquered the land from The Jews, and originated the Name Palistine which was the in the Ottoman period. The Arabs are Jordanians. The land the Arabs are calling theirs was lost after they attacket Israel and lost the war. No Refunds of Land after you attack and loose. The land must be used to stratigicly secure the State of Israel. Maybe you should talk to the Arabs and tell them to Recognize the State of Israel. Also you should tell them they should try to loose the idea they want to wipe Israel of the map and let them know until this dosent happen Israel will not make peace or cooperate with the Arab people trying to make themself a State. Until then enjoy your history lessons, and get back to me when you become realistic and educated. The Izzman USA
17. # 14
Judge ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.13.13)
And yet Israel is the only democracy in the middle east. IE its a middle eastern democracy.
18. To# 14
To#14 ,   USA   (01.13.13)
You must be joking! The moment the Arabs bipast and breach thier agreements with Israel. Israel reaction was to build. The Arab Squaters intentionally set up thier post to start an uprising. They have no ties to this land. Just another provocative action that brings nobody closer to peace. Show me one peaceful gesture the Arabs want peace.... The Izzman USA
19. 70 illegal Jewish settlements never touched so kick out Arab
The Only ,   ME Democracy???   (01.13.13)
20. Eviction
Floriane ,   Israel   (01.13.13)
Finally an act of courage and sticking up to decision to build E1!Proud of you!
22. Thousands of Arab buildings in the WB untouched
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (01.13.13)
unlike what your mob did say when they attacked then trashed the Tomb Of Joseph under thye watchful eyes of armed uniformed PA . You missed it? YOUR democracy in action.
23. To: No. 14
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.13.13)
The Supreme Court of Israel does not have jurisdiction over Judea and Samaria. If you would like the Supreme Court of Israel to have jurisdiction over Judea and Samaria, Judea and Samaria will have to be annexed first. Upon annexation, all Arabs illegally resident in Judea and Samaria will be repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship. The present government did not disobey the law, as the law of Israel does not -- yet -- extend to Judea and Samaria. Don't you know anything?
24. Syrian refugees could have used these luxury tents
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (01.13.13)
25. Avi # 9
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (01.13.13)
Perhaps if you were not there aliah would have more appeal.
26. # 23
Alfonso Buzlago ,   Tiberias, Israel   (01.13.13)
But the supreme court did deal with the matter. Had it been none of their business they would not have dealt it.
27. #17 Israel is not a democracy
Raphael ,   Netanya   (01.13.13)
It is a shofetcracy. The Supreme Court disregards systematically the basic principle of separation of powers. A supreme referee is needed to keep MK's in the Parliament, soldiers in the barracks, rabbis in the synagogues, editors in their newspaper, and judges in their court. Otherwise, we are no better than an arab country with jewish religion.
28. The "high court"of Israel
Keren ,   IL-BR   (01.13.13)
The High Court of Israel should consist of scholars, even secular scholars-,versed in Biblical and Western laws. Their current ways of ruling and thinking are too narrow. They are not appropriate to a Jewish Nation. Not at all.
29. To: No. 26
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.13.13)
The left-leaning Supreme Court of Israel consistently imposes their rulings over that which is not in their purview to consider. You should know that Judea and Samaria are under military rule. The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction. Period. Full stop. That, my friend, is the law.
30. #14
Anshel ,   Canada   (01.13.13)
I am going to shed crocodile tears...
