Livni: Obama's comments a wake-up call    Moran Azulay
1. Livni's Sacre Tactics and Empty Impact
Livini has done NOTHING for the sate of Israel. Absolutely ZERO. The fact that she quotes a president who sold his own people down the river with his fiscal policies which SLAMMED the middle and poor economic classes with his 13 new taxes that deprives most families of an extra $1000/yr and offsets any social program benefits, speaks volumes to Livni's ignorance and stupidity about world politics. LET the EU join BDS: you'll notice Livni says nothing about heading East where Jews are respected and there is ZERO anti-semitism. The west is in decline while the east is growing and healthy. Who needs haters like the west? Obama will be gone in 4 years. Livni is a waste of everyone's time: why Ynet even posts her idiotic opinions is beyond me. Sad.
My Planet Israel ,   LA-Jerusalem   (01.15.13)
2. livni is blind and naive
for all its warts, hamas speaks more truth than fatah and abbas who are empty vessels. Livni does not learn from experience. Any w bank withdrawals will find israel rocketed. obama will not come to defend israel so livni does't know what she is talking about. She is dumb!! she is the twin of olmert, though clean and honest, she is like him dumb like hell and while he is yellow to the bone, she is dumb to the bone.
alexi   (01.15.13)
3. Livni keep dreaming
Glad your not PM, most likely Israel would become Obama slave and a US waiter. You can only gain respect if you respect yourself. You just can't please everyone.
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (01.15.13)
4. I am baffled!
If Livni has got such a clear cut solution to all Israel's ills, why did she not apply them when she was in power? Hmmmmmmm
Ram ,   London   (01.15.13)
5. wake up call!
Hey zip pie, get a clue! Obama is not the US. He is a short term lame duck president wannabe. At least 50% of the American people and even more in Congress are and always will be the best friend Israel has. 4 years are only a drop in the bucket. Surely Israel can maintain through this bad president just as she did with Carter and others. Israel must continue to support her PM and reject you and Obama needs to mind his business. He is interfering in the Israel election as a payback to Bibi. The truth is, it is Obama and the world that are isolating Israel because Bibi is a strong leader and will not bow down to the little muslim pharaoh of the west.
DavidR ,   USA   (01.15.13)
6. First Obama now Schumer
With Chuck Schumer's support for Hagel it is clear that Israel's friends in the US are making a clear distinction between support for Israel's safety and security and kowtowing to Bibi's Rightist machinations and bluster. American Jews won't apologize for supporting both Israel AND sensible democratic values and policies.
Avramele   (01.15.13)
7. Livni, a has been, sells out for her fame
She stoops to the gutter and happy to sell out for her Ego. Israel can and should stand ready to defend Its people with no need from transient friends, friends or pseudo friends
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (01.15.13)
8. Livni serves only Israel's enemies.
Livni stands with Israel's enemies (such as Obama and Abbas) against Israel and against the democratically elected government of Israel. Livni is an utter disgrace to Israeli politics and such a person should never make it to any national leadership role in Israel. Livni's own brother didn't vote for her in the last election and he did the right thing.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.15.13)
9. Livni the cry baby
Livni will try her best to bring down one and all,Lapid,Sheli, Bibi etc. She doesn't get it that we the voters do not want her at all. She showed her true colours when she refused to abide by a democraticaly elected leader of Kadima, and sulked and left the party. She showed her leadership qualities with the likes of Olmert and Peretz during the 2nd Lebanon war. She is a personified failure.
abe4u ,   Migdal HaEmek-Israel   (01.15.13)
10. Nut case
I think even Labor will agree with me that Livni is a nutcase agent for Obama tell me what candidate makes concessions to a foreign power a election priority rather than security or economics. At least labor espouses a economic position as the primary policy. Hopefully her statements will drive more support to Bibi or Bennett and makes Livni and Peres her handler irelavent.
Bill Stein ,   USA   (01.15.13)
11. She probably will get my vote
Bibi&Lieberman gov. will lead Israel to vthe status S.Africa was 30 yrs ago, and to a major financial breakdown. Israelis who can't see that only lying to themselves, and thinking that making the middle finger to the world will serve Israel good... They are blind to what heppened to countries who tried to do that before (S.Africa,Serbia and Iran)
Cohen,Israel   (01.15.13)
12. Scheming with Goldberg and Abbas
Livni: rule or ruin
Ilan   (01.15.13)
13. Wake up call, alright
Telling me if a weak, ideologically water-down leftist were to be in power, they would give Obama everything, so he can give it to his dear Muslim brothers. Wake up call, I agree on who not to vote for. Livni-Bibi-Lapid out, TRUE Right-wing in.
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (01.15.13)
14. So finally, it is Obama interfering in the Israeli elections
by making unprecedented, disparaging remarks about Israeli policy a week before the elections. The claims that Netanyahu was interfering in the US elections turned out to be baseless.
Jake   (01.15.13)
15. "Avramele" #6, errrr, friends?
Pardon the trite, but with such friends, who needs enemies?
Jake   (01.15.13)
16. To Livni
Your ideas are far fetched. Remember the Olso Accords Signed on the White House Lawn in 1993'. America and the International Comunity claimed they would support and guarantee the Olso accord. The Arabs BREACHED the Olso Accords as Israel committed to the deal and uprooted Israelis from thier land. Today Livini proposes to have American backing her negotiations of making peace, Livni why to do think another round of negotiations and agreement will be honored? Our history showes this is a risky gamble. Arabs don't honor thier agreements... You will be allowing Arabs a step closed to Israel, with thier interest is Israel's demise. The Islamic world is penetrating foriegn populasions and the EU and UN. Israel is beeing pressured because of the gain of Islamic influence in foreign countries.. The Izzman USA

17. Infiltrator Obama commenting on Bibi? How pathetic is that?
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.15.13)
18. It appears that Obama's comments were orchestrated with Ms.
Livni's in mind, hoping that each other will echo the same message: One out of personal hate of her prime minister, the other out of personal disgust with the liberal democratic and sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people that refuses to give up on its national and security interests only in order to please the emperor...

20. The Divide !.
The Likud-Beiteinu's election headquarters commented saying, "unfortunately, Tzipi Livni and the left continue trying to enlist the world against Israel instead of standing with the prime minister against Iran Compare - Zechariah 14 14 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, - 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; Seems as !. 21. The three phase approach sounds wise, but...
obviously there is Arab behavior & ambition on the flipside of that coin. That festering hole of ding-dong fanaticism known as Gaza halts all movement towards the inevitable 2-state future.
Cameron ,   USA   (01.15.13)
22. livni!!!

27. somebody tell the leftists this is 2013 not 1993
The left still seem to think that the peace process is the top priority for most Israelis when deciding who to vote for the way it was in the 90s when everybody believed oslo was a wonder drug that would bring real peace. Most people do support a two states but they have seen peace plans come and go so nobody gets excited about a new one. Meretz has never cared about anything but the peace process whilst. Shelly has now gone from being all social justice and not much else to all peace process because thats what other parties are talking about and her refusal to join a right wing coalition won't be popular with swing voters. One week before the election Livni has decided to be the new champion of the peace process and wants to start working with Obama straight away and he is not exactly the most loved American in Israel. whose vote does she want Israeli or Democrats? To make it all worse for the left they are bickering with each other over who is most committed to peace. Lapid the snake oil salesman is the only one not taking sides or promoting an specific ideology so he makes no enemies and once the election is over he can prostitute his Knesset seats to the highest bidder.

28. Livni is correct on only one point
That is that Israel should take the initiative. That's where it ends. Europe may be one step away from boycotts, but it is also one step away from being overrun by Muslims. It is also one step away from financial collapse. Israel needs to send a clear message with regards to its position and to make it consistent, not equivocate at every turn. If Livni's political positions were different, I would easily say she should be FM, as she at least has some sort of strategic vision, even if it is flawed. I would also say that Israel needs not to burn bridges needlessly, but it needs to recognize that the US and Europe have some deeper issues and that their governments will eventually look to place the blame externally on someone. It would be good to build deeper ties with China, Russia, India, and other countries to counterbalance this. These countries don't give a damn about "human rights", Palestinians, or all the other humanistic nonsense that comes along with the European and to a lesser extent, American discourses. At the same time, Israel needs to rebuild its ties to American and European Jews, but not like it was before, where it was a one way street where Israel asked for money and gave nothing in return.

29. Obama's lifetime Bodyguards
How easy for Obama to spout off on Israeli policy, in fact, anyone's policy that does not align with His Own, as he recently passed a Bill That Will Guarantee Him Bodyguard Protection For Life. Taking notes, Ms. Livni?
ASTRONAUT ,   ME, USA   (01.15.13)
30. EU stopped upgrade when livni was FM but she blamed bibi
Livni is such a serial liar that during cast lead in january 2009 the eu cancelled the upgrade in relations with israel and livni said nothing. Then the media in april 2009 when bibi took office the eu commissioner in charge of it said the upgrade was still cancelled. Livni turns around and writes the EU saying how bad bibi is and how people like her have all these great visions. She then held a press conference blasting bibi for the cancelled upgrade. It was a complete lie when in fact the upgrade had been cancelled when she was FM during cast lead.
