This place was overpriced.Nothing to do with big-box stores.There is a few stores on the same street that sell Israeli made products for 30% less and business is brisk.

... then go back there and speak your yiddish. The Bay area is crawling with ethnic Hebrew people who spend their money at Israeli-oriented establishments. Ladino deserved to dissapear and so does yiddishkeit.

Trying to compete with Trader Joe's for kosher meat was a non-starter, and the homemade food had no hechsher, so most strictly kosher consumers would not buy there.
That was her downfall.
