The Jewish enlightment in europe was overrun with nationalism and virulent antisemetism and then after Ww1 nazism and boilshevism. All the hpes for international humanitarianism were cruelly mocked by Racial and Class Genocide.Socioeconomic safety nets and preventing fraudulent wealth is attainable but only Jewish military Power prevents massacres expulsion and atrocities. The Jews needs now to be the cunning clever and ruthless fighter all worst case scenarios planned for with Stringency.
2. reality buddy
marcel   (01.26.13)
This is good evidence why more jews did not survive the gas chambers by fleeing. The author is bloody blind and israelis are not corrupt in general, except a few leaders. Kraus has no idea of what he is talking about in regard to occupation and corruption.
3. Sorry
Carl   (01.26.13)
The fact that internal issues were so important in this election is because there is agreement across the board that the Palestinians have zero interest in having their own state.
4. "Occupation " will end when Arabs accept reality of Israel
Jorge   (01.27.13)
The so called occupation will stop when Arabs stop they call for the destruction of Israel and wake up to its reality, it will help if self hating Jews also wake up to who keeps the conflict going in. The Arabs have to openly say that they want an end to the conflict. See the sad example of Egyptians, that only keep the peace treaty by bribery from money coming from the U.S.. But never have accepted a real peaceful, or what goes on in Gaza. Israel left to get a terrorist heaven.
5. Stopped reading at the word "occupation"
BH ,   Iowa   (01.27.13)
This person has nothing of any value to say.
6. More Spin than a dreidel
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (01.27.13)
The Right wing came out very strong in this election and will get only stronger. Yesh Atid is a right wing party. Yesh Atid supports the same policies that Bibi has publicly supported, but have been unable to implement because of the Religious right. What nonsense this writer spins. Bibi is still in power and he writes as if Israel had a turn around. Israelis do not support a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as it's capital, Israelis do not support right of Return of Arabs to Tel Aviv, Israelis do believe in maintaining the blocs of settlements and do not want to see a militarized PLO firing rockets on it's head from Ramallah, so you see Israel is still on the right and still supports the same things Bibi does. Israelis want to see a stronger middle class (as do I), Haredim in the army (as do I), a lasting peace settlement (as do I) and a secure Israel (as do I). The Left were smart not to promote OSLO which basically admits that OSLO was an absolute failure and tragedy.
7. The left has something to offer?
Zyx ,   USA   (01.27.13)
Dream on, the left is dead. The left actually lost the election. No left party is even close be part of any coalition (Yesh Atid is a right wing party). This election is historic because outdated archaic ideologies are the big losers and have been marginalized. A new Israel is born where the left will slowly but surely disappear.
8. Kraus:it is a futile task trying to explain it to you&yours!
