When the question was first raised most Orthodox Jews opposed Holocaust Remembrance Day, preferring Tish B'Av or Kristallnacht, while Israelis had Yom HaShoah in Nissan. Between Julay and September 1942 Germans with the help of Jewish Judenrat and Jewish Police deported 245-300 thousands of Jews to the death camp without any resistancy. After that in Getto lived 60-65 thousands of Jews. 19 April 1943 Germans were planning to complete deportation, but in this case were ambushed by Jewish insurgents. There was about 1000-1500 insurgents. The uprising ended after 1 month. According to the casualty lists in Stroop's report, German forces suffered 16 killed in action and 85 wounded in action. The Warsaw Uprising was Polish resistance Home Army operation to liberate Warsaw from Nazi Germany. The Poles wanted to welcome the Soviet army in the liberated, free capital of Poland. It began on 1 August 1944. There was 50 thousands Home Army soldiers (10000 KIA). This uprising ended after 63 days. German forces suffered 7000-9000 KIA. About 200,000 Polish civilians were killed and 700,000 expelled from the city.
