First of all, cheers to JNF for the annual planting, it's amazing.
However, there's one thing I don't get: The JNF has planted over 250 million trees since 1948, simple math suggests that this is an average of over 3.8 million trees per year. However, each year when they plant a million trees on Tu Bi Shvat, it's the "biggest planting ever".
Do they plant millions more trees during the year but with less fanfare? Or is there something else amiss?
