were one of most important thing of zionist political movement. Muslim occupiers destructed all trees during the centuries of the occupation. Zionism created a green land from the barren hills and deserts. Who are better inhabitants of the country then ?

First of all, cheers to JNF for the annual planting, it's amazing. However, there's one thing I don't get: The JNF has planted over 250 million trees since 1948, simple math suggests that this is an average of over 3.8 million trees per year. However, each year when they plant a million trees on Tu Bi Shvat, it's the "biggest planting ever". Do they plant millions more trees during the year but with less fanfare? Or is there something else amiss?

Great work JNF. The first Tu'B'shevat trees my wife and I planted in Israel was at an army base where we were volunteers during the first Gulf war. I also planted trees at a local highschool when we worked on a moshav. And lastly we planted shrubs in Eilat's "peace Park. All the trees etc have bloomed but not so the peace. What are your tree-planting stories?
