31. I love Israel, I really do, but there is an ugly side
A ,   Belgium   (01.27.13)
and this is it. Druze are not arabs, Druze do not worship Mohamed, Druze fight and die for Israel, I don't think Druse drink alchohol (they taught me how to eat the belly meat of a porcupine, though), this is unacceptable. Unbelievable. I would demand that each club devote one night a week to "Druze night"...music, culture, food, etc. And that the people responsible for this disgusting example of racism are dismissed from their jobs.
32. bad things happen to good people....
alsky ,   toronto   (01.27.13)
in every country. Israel is no different. I hope this man understands that most of us would gladly accept him.
33. Ethans big mistake - # 30
Alex   (01.27.13)
...is to place a collective guilt on the shoulders of that specific Druze man. Collective guilt is evil and the basis of all sorts of narrowminded bigotry and racism in the history of mankind - including Antisemitism. Once Ethan has come to understand this, he can adjust his mind accordingly
34. How do they fall about Jewish guys sleeping with their siste
hippocrates ,   earth   (01.27.13)
sisters. if they are ok with that, and they are not, than fine. If they arent ok with it, and they arent, than fair is fair.
35. getting turned away from clubs
john ,   london, UK   (01.27.13)
I'm not Israeli but has happened to me many times, not in Israel but all over Europe. Sometimes you go back the next week and you sail through the security. I learned to stop being offended by it. Here is the deal, it's up to the doorman to determine whether you fit the profile of the club, maybe there are too many men inside or they are looking for partners only, you're wearing the wrong clothes, you're too old or too young, you have the wrong attitude, you are too drunk, you are too high or too straight or it's a members only club. This isn't something you should take seriously, it is unfortunately par for the course. If you don't like how you have been treated you can choose never return, but you should have one or two clubs in mind when you go out because this kind of thing happens all the time. If it is because he is druze, well then that is disgusting and there is no excuse for it.
36. Bill #5 - your hatred is disgusting
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (01.27.13)
More proof that blind pro-Palestinians like you are ignorant and have obviously never set foot inside Israel. Yes, we have some jerks who behave like chauvist racist pigs, but that doesn't come close to defining us. I'm guessing you Bill are Amerian - the home of racism and occupation settlers. You should be ashamed of yourself and for the war crimes you committed and continue to commit - you yourself are a settler on occupied stolen land. Go back to Europe where you came from. We Jews are back in our homeland - Palestine. And more proof that you are the racists since even Judge Goldstone said that anybody who claims Israel is apartheid is both ignorant and themselves a racist.
37. Rani, we'll change that brother!
Yossef   (01.28.13)
It'll take time but we'll change that.
38. Some Jews are racists; start in the schools
Laila ,   Geneva, Switzerland   (01.28.13)
Some Jews are racists and homophobic; start in the schools.
39. Wallah, USA, #14
Tommy ,   TA   (01.28.13)
If you live in the USA, then you obviously don't know anything about what really happens in Israel. There is no point debating with you.
40. #38 Laila
Vlad   (01.28.13)
Really? And you Muslims aren't?
41. #39 tommy
Wallah ,   USA   (01.28.13)
Well, yes I live in the US but I speak Arabic and Hebrew. Take a guess about my place of birth and background. I love debating ignorants like you.
42. Racism and Prejuidice
Marcel ,   San Jose, Costa Rica   (01.28.13)
This is a very sad story. Sadly, I have seen these things happen all over the world. The good thing is that this man has friends who stood by him. Another good thing is to make these incidents public knowledge. I hope action is being taken with these establishments.
43. any fairness?
matt ,   south orange usa   (01.28.13)
is this the promised land?
44. 2 different issues
Ethan ,   Eilat   (01.28.13)
Sorry I seem to have connected 2 different issues with my responses #1 and #30. Discrimination is wrong. the Issue of their own discrimination and "honor killing" needs to be addressed separately. Allowing any discrimination only legitimized bigotry.
45. Yet another nightclub making doorstep decisions
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (01.28.13)
Nightclubs everywhere in the world do this. They have people standing in the front and basically making arbitrary decisions about who to let in and who not. It always makes people feel bad. I can remember visiting German friends in Germany and going out to nightclubs. At least two clubs decided they didn't like my "look" and didn't let me in. The friends didn't go in either, but of course I felt terrible. When is someone going to invent a nightclub that is both popular and "nice"?
46. #38
john ,   london, uk   (01.28.13)
Absolutely education and public condemnation of racism are the way forward.
47. Druze In night clubs
Ronnbo ,   Canada   (01.28.13)
Druze whose families serve in our armed forces deserve FREE admission to all nightclubs. Take away the liquor licenses from those establishments which discriminate based on race and/or religion.
48. The 2 clubs should apologize to Rani.
Reuven   (01.28.13)
The Druze are loyal to the State of Israel.
49. why racism? Just normal facecontrol
Daniel ,   St. Petersburg   (01.28.13)
Perhaps, he just have a stupid tshirt, or to much heir gel. I bet, there was dozen of jewish guys, who were "not in the list".
50. Jews should put an end to this
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (01.28.13)
Sadly, racial discrimination against non jews has been the norm in Israel since the country's been established. A true democracy should pass laws making this racial discrimination illegal.
51. Jews should be ashamed
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (01.28.13)
Jews should be ashamed that druze and others are Israeli enough to fight to defend the country and it's jewish population, but not Israeli enough to be let into a night club.
52. Not Acceptable if True
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (01.28.13)
Any and all Israelis and even non-Israelis should be treated with respect in the State of Israel regardless of their religion and race. Those clubs should be reported and fined.
53. Druze refused entry
JUDAH THE LION ,   QUDS HAKA ALYAHUD   (01.28.13)
The two club owner should be punished. BOYCOTT THESE TWO CLUBS>
54. Druze says 2 nightclubs racially discriminated him
Yousif ,   US   (01.28.13)
# 35 : Sir. you need more reading and self change, America belong to the Indians , But 1-they have more rights than any one in US. 2-they still living there and never been Transferred to another land, 3- you claim the land and you probably were born some where else, main while, you deny the Palestinian the right to exist, ( The Land belong to you * you hustle it* Palestinian Belong to the Land ) Do you see the different ? Could you see the different ??? <<
55. To Rani
Sagi   (01.28.13)
I apologize in the name of all decent Israelis. I long for the day when racist acts against ethnic groups and anti sectorial behaviour in Israel will be punishable by a mandatory prison sentence.
56. Racism
robert jackson ,   New Castle Delaware   (01.28.13)
Human nature will never change......humans are what the Bible says they are....wicked in words, thoughts and deeds!
57. not the correct interpretation
charles ,   jerusalem - Israel   (01.29.13)
To my dear Druze co-citizen, It is not because he is a druze that he was segregated at the entrance of a night club, it is because he is poor and was not accompanied by two top-models. It is the same in every country my friend. Because of that, I have been boycotting night clubs since I was a kid. I sawped night clubs for jazz clubs, music concerts and friends' parties, much more convinient, friendly, less costly in every way one can present it.
