1. the red line and chemical weapons
milton ,   raanana   (01.28.13)
quite honestly, weapons are weapons are weapons, they all kill...if Israel needs an excuse to go to war, this shouldn't be it
2. I think it is safe to say ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.13)
.... that even the mere possibility that an organization such as Hezbollah may acquire weapons of mass destruction probably qualifies as "time to pull the trigger." You're talking about sarin, botulin toxin, mustard gas, anthrax, smallpox and worse falling into very irresponsible and unpredictable hands. You're talking about the potential for deaths in the hundreds of millions. Is that a risk worth taking? So if ten million Lebanese or Syrians die in a full-out Israeli onslaught -- it is still well worth the price. What's ten million lives against half a billion lives? Do you know what a teaspoonful of botulin toxin dropped in a country's water carrier can do? You'll turn that country into a ghost town in no time at all. Syria, Lebanon -- all the crazies -- have to be stopped, and they have to be stopped now.
3. Israel's red line,is this a sick Joke ?
CHAIM SCHONBRUN ,   BROOKLYN NY   (01.28.13)
this pathetic cowardly leftist government has no red lines, heck, even when Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv were bombed with missiles, this criminally insane leftist regime did not consider it a red line, I doubt very much, that even if one day we wake up with a mushroom cloud over Tel- Aviv, that this insane government would consider it having crossed a red line.
4. your assertions
gravel ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.28.13)
How do you know any of this?
5. wow
Shai ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (01.28.13)
Tell us something we don't already know and have heard from the beginning. Also, how do you know what Israel's red line is? The only thing that is safe to assume is that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. While Israel is already acting to prevent the worst case scenario in ways you will never know about, you will be writing more ridiculous op-ed's that only Ynet would publish.
6. israel will not attack
alexi   (01.28.13)
barak was against he syrian hit and is leaving and has no interest in furthur war. General yaalon is up to the task, any task. Bibi talks a lot but is weak and on his own cannot do it. Livni of course would run to obama and flail away. Lapiid is a journalistuc olmert, a bs artist who at least indulges in karate which is good. but he is about to be conned by abbas and his stooges in ramle(ancient jewish land) about a new oslo-entire bullcrap. Mofaz is sloppy and not a precise general. He had his chance and he buggered up the idf by appoointing the arrogant wrong headed halutz who had no business being chief of staff, as he had no idea, zero of how to fight hezbollah and still does not. Bibi has to appoint gen yaalon to defense and no one else, and no spin. Bibi is not qualified to be head of defense period. I want to reminid bibi that the one who smashed west bank terror was not bibi, not barak at all, not mofaz. It was yaalon and sharon who grabbed the idf and said here is what you do- house to house asymmetrically and they did it. So don't screw around.
7. #6 except
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.28.13)
Netanyahu has already said he does not want Yaalon as Minister of Defense. Maybe he will appoint Yael German?
8. WMDs in Fanatics' hands
Brod ,   USA   (01.28.13)
Once the Hezbollah Islamist-Jihadist fanatics get their WMDs from Syria, Israel would be endangered. Why wait till Hezbollah gets them?
9. Moshe Feglin for PM!
DavidR ,   USA   (01.28.13)
10. Just itching to kill ...looking for excuses...
Edithann ,   USA   (01.28.13)
Israel is the worst thing to have happened to the Middle East, Europe and the USA... Now run along and think how wonderful you'll all feel once your killing non Jews. TATA
11. the only threat is the libyan chemicals the americans gave
the terrorist rebels   (01.28.13)
12. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.13)
I realize that this disappoints you, but have to understand that the prospect of non-Jews killing Jews is much less pleasant. Hey -- remember September 11? The United States retaliated for that by slaughtering one million Iraqis and who knows how many Afghanis. You are truly aptly named, Idiotann.
13. change
Carla ,   France   (01.29.13)
email of Britam Defence has been hacked: "We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington. We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have. They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record. Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?"

Israel has no red lines. The red lines have long ago been erased by a giant erasure.
16. Israel looks like a blushing Zebra...

...with all the silly red lines.
17. WMD
Thomas Wells ,   Nebraska, USA   (01.29.13)
Chemical weapons stay in a relatively localized area. Infectious germ weapons -smallpox, plague, biotech altered avian influenza etc, spread globally like; well, like the plague.Find um,cork um, clorox um.
