Omer   (01.30.13)
NO! just kidding...
35. To Sarah B, USA/Israel, at no. 9.
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn NH, Holland   (01.30.13)
Dear Sarah, thank you for your good, well-meant proposal/advice for mankind. With kind regards, Sjoerd.
36. To Chris at nr. 7.
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn NH, Holland   (01.30.13)
What is your alternative of the present UN? Maybe you have good ideas about it.
37. Go to Belgian Congo and Syria
Zechariah   (01.30.13)
Urgent to concentrate on Belgian Congo and Syria Jewish -Palestinian human rights situation though disturbing far less urgent.
38. #14 - the "light unto nations" wishes fair and equal treatme
William ,   Israel   (01.30.13)
But apparently, it doesn't deserve to be treated like other nations, much to the chagrin of millions of civilians who are tortured and lose their lives while the UNHRC drones on about a Jewish house on a barren hilltop. If the US cuts its aid package to Israel, it would be the American workers who feel the hit. But I'm not worried. If the US govt sees it fit to reward Egypt's oppression and racist tirades against the West with more military equipment, I think they will see fit to continue aid to Israel when the Jewish State says it refuses to be a punching bag anymore. By the way - the US also acknowledged that UNHRC is a corrupt org with a bias against Israel.
39. UN is less effective than the former League of Nations
Essie HaKohane ,   FL. USA   (01.30.13)
It is time for all civiliaed nations to stop investing in this corrupt, ineffective institution and convert their property into condos. Thankfully, in this day and age there are organizations like NATO and the IMF that nations can cooperate more effectively. Though they may not be perfect, they are better than the UN.
40. Israel is not being singled out
Ben David Shlomo   (01.30.13)
Israel does so many bad and wrong things, and this by a state full of white Europeans who only spend part of their year in Israel, but decide to behave like animals once they get off the plane at BG. This "light amongst other nations" rubbish does not help their cause, nor does the BS about contributing so much to the rest of the world, who the jews consider incapable. We can do without your "contributions". Now is your chance to stand up like real men and defend yourself against the convictions, but you just DO NOT HAVE THE GUTS-do you?
41. Mandatory?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.30.13)
It is only mandatory for members of UNHRC and that apartheid organization doesn't allow us to serve on the commission. We are not required to submit to those racists. It is not mandatory according to the UN Charter
42. hmm what are they so afraid of?
Melissa ,   US of Ara   (01.30.13)
I wonder? not! if this isn't. a declaration of guilt, I don't know what is. I am here for it and when Israel had decided not toshow up, you should have heard all of the motions. we're coming for you Israel, there will be no.peace in the world until Israel gives up its military. they are the number one offenders of human rights and war crimes.
43. to 11
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (01.30.13)
Just love the desparate drivel of this anonymous poster...Every day, Israel is enforcing their credibility by actions...You need not "roll" your eyes, silly..Just need to open them wide and take in reality... In Israel now, there is no such thing, as settlements...We have Judea and Samaris, the ancient land of Israel, liberated over defensive wars and now populated for peaceful existense by its rightful owners...This is our strongest and most rightful credibility, mr. anonymous...
44. #28 - you should consider reading the actual article
William ,   Israel   (01.30.13)
I understand you gravitate to The Independent, but go to the source like Haaretz (which also has its own biases) or Forbes which is much more objective. It's still not determined that these injections did indeed take place although one health ministry worker which remains unnamed, stated it did happen UPON entry to Israel. Unlike your cowardly and inaccurate reference to Nazi Germany, the article stated such injections were temporary in nature and not to permanently cull the Ethiopian population. Whether that's a massive human rights issue has yet to be determined, though it shows you and UNHRC are grasping straws at this point. Robert - your wet dreams do not create reality.
45. #11 - settlements destroy Israel's credibility?
William ,   Israel   (01.30.13)
Was that before or after the "Palestinians" signed the Oslo Accords and various negotiations since then which allowed for expansion of existing large settlement blocs? What destroyed the world's credibility is taking land which was promised to the Jewish State back in 1922, and violating their own Charter by negating a League of Nations vote, then attempt to legalize illegal annexation and ethnic cleansing in 1949 by handing such land to local residents - many who arrived with Jordanian citizenship to fill homes vacated by cleansed Jews. Settlements - actually, by intl law, they are Jewish villages on reclaimed land - can be moved as has happened in 2005, for peace. But violation of Intl Laws by the very global nations who penned it, for their own selfish aims, is very low indeed.
46. #28 Robert, yes and there is another one!
Israeli ,   Israel   (01.30.13)
AUSTRALIA! Ask the Aborigines! Oh, and don't forget about the human rights violations in New Zealand against the Maoris! Are you casting the first stone?
47. #28 Sterilisation or conception?
Jorge ,   Argentina/USA/Israel   (01.30.13)
Any thing is good for you to blame on Israel. Your Antisemitism has no limits. The report say contraception, exactly as they do in Ethiopia the Muslim with them. So why they Ethiopian government do go to report that? Because they are not Jewish?
48. 60K syrian dead, congo a disaster, let's spank Israel...!
Sifter   (01.30.13)
49. UNHRC is a corrupt, useless organisation
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (01.30.13)
its member states are tyrannical major human rights abusers. israel should have left this cesspool a long time ago.
50. Yeah baby! It was about time! Go Israel!
Gila   (01.30.13)
Nothing good for Israel has ever come out from that UN gathering of anti Semites
51. #43, 45 Listen folks
(01.30.13)
Israel has several million inhabitants who are denied the right to vote in the Israeli election, on an ethnic basis. I wonder who would want to live under a such an apartheid style regime. Arab countries like Jordan, Egypt and Iraq have fairer elections than Israel, so much for the only "democracy" in Middle East.
52. The World`s Obession.
ENA ,   SPAIN   (01.30.13)
Every country in the world seems to have some kind of ISRAELI OBESSION. What about Syria?? How come the Rich Oil states are all SILENT!!
53. isareal bless by god
thang ,   highpoint usa   (01.30.13)
Isareal never collapse a gain because god protected them
54. The BBC
Alistair ,   Scotland   (01.30.13)
Never used the word Jerusalem! Very misleading .
55. 9 - And several dozen other countries ,...
split ,   US   (01.30.13)
Those several dozens of bantustans you call it ountries don't claim or pretend to be democratic if you happen to miss it ,...
56. 14 - The blight not light I beg your pardon, sir ;) ,...
split ,   US   (01.30.13)
57. To: No. 54
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.31.13)
No, it's simply accurate reporting (very unusual for the BBC). Jerusalem was unified following the Six Day War; it is a part of the sovereign State of Israel. Access to Jerusalem would therefore be denied to the UNHRC.
58. UNHRC - A Worthless Lot, Indeed
ltrail ,   United States   (01.31.13)
To the UN Human Rights Council, and specifically, Rolando Gomez and the other representatives of UNHRC, "Go Shut the Front Door"! Seriously.
59. # 15...You're right...Israel should get out of the UN....
Edithann ,   USA   (01.31.13)
replace it with 'what'...or don't replace it...Show the world how you can go it alonem you're practically there already, so 'go for broke'!... But don't whine when you need help, support and money... TATA...
60. UNHRC- Is a mockery to human rights
Chris Lewis ,   Arizona, USA   (02.04.13)
Good for Israel! Until member nations without such human rights abuses in their own country are corrected they are hypocrites. The nations on this board are all anti Israel with some if the worst commited crimes against human rights. Its absolutely laughable they expect anyone to listen to their report.
