1. but why Judaism?
Jacob ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.13.13)
The author likes a ritual system, a set of do's and don'ts. Great. Islam has that. Many Christian churches have some form of that. There are lots of ritualistic packages from which to choose. If the only reason you follow Jewish law, is because the rituals keep you focused, then any other ritualistic religion would be just as acceptable to you. In fact, some of them might be even better than Judaism, for living in the Western World. I follow halacha because G-d commanded me to; and for no other reason.

3. really?

If you are so immature, so irresponsible, so lacking in intellect, then yes you might need a rigid structure to stop you from harming yourself and becoming, lazy, obese, etc. (although if someone wants to live such a life, they have the right). But this does not justify the sexism, the homophobia, the racism, or the intolerance that comes along with rabbinic orthodox Judaism. Lets see if the author is brave enough to write an article about those issues.

I stood at the base of Mount Sinai, and the one and only Creator of everything gave me the Divine Law. This Law is the basis for all of Western Civilization.
