2. Do EU goods flow into Gaza ? If so, block !
Roland Seener ,   London England   (02.12.13)
3. a tit for tat Pandora's box
EJ ,   Fr. occupied Corsica   (02.12.13)
ok fine, if that's the case, then other countries have every right to demand clear labelling when products are manufactured in European occupied territories, such as the Malvinas (so called Falkslands), Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, the Basque lands, Brittany, and Corsica. The same might as well go to other territories of dubious status, such as Russian occupied Ossetia, South Kurile islands, Abkazhia, Western Sahara, Northern Cyprus, Kurdistan, Nagorno -Karabak, Kashmir & Jammu, Tibet, Taiwan, and Kosovo. Is that a pandora's box that the un-elected EU bureaucrats really want to open?
4. EU to ban products from Golan, West Bank
ger ,   raanana, Israel   (02.12.13)
They are not hesitating to ban products made in the Golan or the West Bank, but as far as labeling Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, well, that requires a few more years of debate.

aaron ,   toronto,canada   (02.12.13)
You forgot one more,USA.I would like to see them try this.
6. bravo EU
adam adam ,   earth planet   (02.12.13)
the whole world must ban israeli goods to stop the occupation of palestine and stop building settlements on west bank lands
7. Who cares?
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (02.12.13)
These idiots can't change the fact that Judea, Samaria, and ALL of Jerusalem belongs to the nation and the people of Israel. They are as relevant and useful as a fly on a horses ass. While they fall into oblivion, Israel remains a giant of industry among a sea of savages. FORMALLY ANNEX ALL OF THE 'DISPUTED TERRITORIES', MAKE JERUSALEM OFFICIALLY THE CAPITOL OF ALL OF ISRAEL.
8. We are all a settlement, ban us all too
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (02.12.13)
Why not, didn't the Nazis ban the Jews from every form of government and social institution. We Israelis are all settlers! Ban us all!
9. #3
(02.12.13)
The Eurocrats are fanatic Leftists who viscerally hate all Western nations, especially Jews. They hate Christianity, but love Islam. These same BDS Eurocrats are the ones who helped get horse meat into the British food chain while preventing British citizens from selling home made jam. The same ones who transfer endless sums of money to the corrupt Abbas but ignore starving Christian Europeans.
10. and this will change something???
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (02.12.13)
The international community never recognized the West Bank when it was invaded and occupied by Jordan in 1948. I don't recall any talk before 1967 (at which time Israel replaced Jordan) of boycotting produce grown there or goods manufactured there. Why am I not surprised? At any rate I'll switch from some admittedly great Italian and French wines to exquisite prizewinning Golan wines.
11. are you kidding me?
llan ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (02.12.13)
all we do is remove the made is Israel part! leave the flag as a logo, and done! no what?
12. An Insight
Robert Blum ,   New Albany, USA   (02.12.13)
The European Union and the United Nations must certainly be aware that Israel paid 300 Million U.S. dollars to Assad's father for the Golan Heights! Fact...NOT fiction. Judea and Samaria have always been Israel. These Jewish areas were labeled the west bank when Trans-Jordan (now Jordan), occupied the area, in order for the Jewishness of those areas to be forgotten by succeeding generations, so that Islam's claim to those lands would seem just and valid, which they are not!
13. Remember South Africa
Michael ,   Haifa   (02.12.13)
This is only the beginning, and the idiots here are incapable of seeing the end
14. Jews are no longer at mercy of E.U.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
There are certainly Europeans who miss have Jew boys to kick around but Jews are no longer at the mercy of the E.U. Judea and Samaria have belonged to Jews for more than 3,500 years and will be ours forever. Incidentally, the E.U. is virtually bankrupt while Israel is becoming a major energy power.
15. To All Commentators
Harold ,   USA   (02.12.13)
The sanctions will be much harshar if the leaders of Israel will not listen and stop building more settlements and solve the two states solution.
16. It is also about customs regulations
I ,   Germany   (02.12.13)
Israel has special treaties with the EU and hasn't got to pay customs when exporting goods into the EU. But these agreements only exist with pre-1967 Israel, as e.g. the Golan is not officially part of Israel. Therefore wine from the Golan that is labelled "Made in Israel" has an unfair competitive advantage compared to other wines produced outside the EU/Israel, because non-EU/Israel countries have to pay customs what makes their products more expensive.
17. BDS is proving an epic failure
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.12.13)
Israeli trade and exports continue to expand, especially to the growing markets of Asia. Even Norway, which loves to criticize Israel and threaten boycotts, is experiencing that growing trade. (Norway actually buys more from Israel than it sells to Israel.) EU rules are set by consensus, and Israel still has a few friends who won't approve a formal change in regulations (though they can't influence enforcement of existing regs in other countries). Believe me, Israel needs the Golan more than they need the EU's approval of Israel's sovereignty on the Golan. The current civil war in Syria demonstrates that.
18. EU to use legal loophole to ban settlement goods
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (02.12.13)
The products could be labeled "made in Palestine". this could go around any boycott and would be completely correct (except for the Golan)..
19. #15. Sanctions don't scare Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
#15 Harold. Israel is no about to cede our more than 3,500 year old ancestral Homeland due to fear of the E.U. Israel is emerging as a major energy power. The E.U. is essentially bankrupt. The E.U. has it's own problems to deal with. Sanctions don't scare Israel. Judea and Samaria are ours forever. Moreover, as others posters noted, BDS is an epic failure.
20. #13 Michael. No comparison between Israel & S. Africa.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
#13 Michael. I'm afraid you're the idiot. You advise Israel to commit suicide to avoid trade sanctions. Now that is idiocy! Any child, capable of reading a map, knows Israel can't survive by ceding our ancestral heartland and trimming our waist to 9 miles. Israelis are too smart and courageous to be scared by your pathetic leftist fear mongering.
21. #12
Harold ,   USA   (02.12.13)
The whole world recognizes UN 1949 Israel's borders and nothing else. Wake-up
22. #13 - we do remember South Africa
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
And the situation in Israel bears no resemblance to the Apartheid-era there. That much we all know, yet there are those who still push the inaccurate claim for their personal agenda.
23. #15 - and when Israel did stop building for 10 months?
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
NO Arab talks on 2-State took place. Abbas was always busy with something else. Arafat signed the Oslo Accords allowing for natural expansion of larger blocs and eventual annexation into Israel....yet, 90 homes in Beit El today are a deal breaker. We know sanctions aren't coming. Even the EU stated it wasn't an option AT ALL.
24. #21 - Court of Public Opinion vs. Intl law
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
The whole world at one point saw sickness as caused by demons and the sun revolving around the Earth. Did that make it so? What you've expressed is a public opinion but per Intl law, the 1949 Armistice lines are neither a border nor can be used as negotiations for a border per the very agreement that Arabs themselves signed. Intl Law is created by consensus of stakeholders - that is, the signatories to the Cease-fire agreement - and not outside spectators. It is you who needs to wake up. Your opinion bares no resemblance to fact, nor does it constitute one. You're just one idiot of many, with Internet access and a keyboard.
25. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.12.13)
There already is a two-state solution in place. One is the State of Israel. The other is the Kingdom of Jordan, whose population is well over seventy percent ersatz "Palestinian." And when Israel annexes Judea and Samaria and repatriates its Arab squatters -- all Jordanian citizens -- the ersatz "Palestinian" population of Jordan will increase dramatically. By the way -- where did you learn English? How do you "solve" a "solution?"
26. To: No. 21
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.12.13)
Well, you see, we really don't much care what the international community does and does not recognize. Wake up. Unless you're prepared to move Israel off its legitimately acquired territory by force -- good luck with that one -- you're just mouthing nonsense. Back off. You really don't want us to hurt you -- and we can. The United States got its ass kicked by a handful of barefoot Somali warlords using vintage World War II Garand rifles and some rusty old RPG launchers. The United States fought a losing battle in Iraq twice -- tells you how effective the first time was, doesn't it? -- and has lost the battle in Afghanistan, Waziristan, Libya and Yemen. You won't do well against Israel. Trust me. So stop with the nonsense about 1949 borders, unless you're prepared to address the issue militarily. You're not, and we'll kick your ass if you try. That's just a fact, Jack.
27. The Golan Heights
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.12.13)
... have been annexed. The Golan is a part of Israel. The European Union is several decades behind the times ... no suprise there.
