31. is there also a plan to boycott and ban
(02.12.13)
TURKISH PRODUCTS AND EXPORTS FROM NORTH CYPRUS...????? because the turkish occupation of north cyprus is illegal internationally and was never recognized by any un member and body. it is illegal according to international law!!!! HOW COME THERE IS NO BOYCOTT AND BAN ON THESE ILLEGAL TURKISH PRODUCTS FROM NORTH SYPRUS? don't bother, north cyprus IS NOT JEWISH. so, no one will ban turkish products coming out of that occupied land.

orwellian world. BAN ISRAELI PRODUCTS, BUT, NOT HIZBULLAH??????????????

(02.12.13)
OK, UNDERSTOOD. SO, WHO NOT TAX THE PRODUCTS MORE? WHY BAN ALL OF THEM ALL TOGETHER?
34. #1 - Being labeled doesn't mean it won't be purchased
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
Golani wines win many awards. The BDS has won nothing. Even if the products are named "settlement production", the EU will stop short of an outright boycott and the products will continue to flow as usual. At the end of the day, people want high quality products, and that's what Israel gives them.
35. #9 - the same Eurocrats who were appaulled
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
when David Cameron indicated a future vote on EU membership by the UK would be coming.
36. #16 - good point, but not entirely true
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
Many other wine producing nations have a special treaty with the EU including Australia, Chile, and Argentina.
37. EU ban
dr daniel mostrel ,   paris france   (02.12.13)
most of these foods are bought by jews , so we are aware of the origin and proud to buy it , no problem for me to know made in golan heights or jerusalem hills
38. to harold
dr daniel mostrel ,   paris france   (02.12.13)
the borders of 1949 don't include the main jewish quarter in jerusalem or hebron, and the palestinian state doesn t exist not because israel , it never was before , and would be only if palestinians recognize israel as a jewish state and forget to fight or dream to come back with miiion people falsely called palestinians
39. I'll import settlement goods personally if it comes to that
(02.12.13)
I know lots of Jews in Europe would be interested in importing settlement goods themselves to counteract any such hypocrtitical moves.
40. EU boycott Israel - Israel boycott Gaza
Alex   (02.12.13)
I say if it comes to that lock Gaza borders completely, let nothing, no electricity, no food or water or anything whatsoever get in there. If EU starve Jewish settlers, we'll starve Arab settlers. It's nothing but right.
41. Harold #s 15 and 21
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (02.12.13)
The whole world used to recognize the world was flat. Why don't you take your own advise and wake up yourself?
42. #21Harold: Stop lying
Tom W ,   USA   (02.12.13)
The "whole world" did not help Israel "within its recognized borders" when the British Sir John Glubb pasha Arab legion attacked Israel in '48-49. Instead the "Magnificent" USA ordered an arms embargo against Israel to kill the Jews. Never ever the West helped Israel when it was attacked successively by the Arabs, regardless of its borders. The fact is that you radical leftists - Bolshevik Jews included - profess visceral hatred against the concept of a Jewish nation. Independent Muslim nations Yes! Independent Jewish state No! Americans are ignorant about Jewish history but the Communist Jews always hated the idea of a Jewish nation. Google: "Yevsektsiya" (the Jewish section of the USSR communist party, 1919)
43. Ban chinese goods if you dare
Bob ,   Canada   (02.12.13)
China occupies Tibet, india occupies Kashmir, this logic should affect all chinese goods coming to the EU. The other alternative to labeling goods, we can say "made in thenation which is light unto other nation".
44. EU, ban Iran's North Korea's nuclear weapons!
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.12.13)
the craven, hypocritical europeans are obsessed with jews.
45. To my detractors - Chaim & William
Michael ,   Haifa   (02.12.13)
I never mentioned Apartheid in my orginal posting, My point was that sanctions against South Africa were highly effective. Middle-class Boers and Israelis are too soft to withstand economic sanctions that hit them in the pocket. And even worse, if Israelis have to get visas to visit European countries, god forbid (one of the proposed sanctions) , they may change their "commitment" to illegal settlements. Not all Israelis are like Chaim and William, and Chaim and William surely know that.
46. #28 UnAmerican
DavidR ,   USA   (02.12.13)
Then I suggest you throw away your cell phone and computer to begin with. That way we will not hear from you again and you will be exercising your boycott of Israel technology! win win as I see it.
47. EU has food-labelling problems of its own!
Doug ,   UK   (02.12.13)
The EU and the UK have fallen foul of their own hypocrisy when it comes to food-labelling. The mainstream media outcry is increasing on a daily basis as more and more food imported from the EU to the UK is discovered to have been fraudulently labelled, with vast amounts of foodstuffs found to have included horsemeat. Instead of getting their own house in order, they again place a priority upon denigrating the actions of the Jewish state.
48. Israel should ban EU imports.
Jane ,   Wales   (02.12.13)
Israel should ban EU imports. If something is labeled Beef by the EU it is just as likely to contain up to 100% horse-meat. Ask retailers here in the United Kingdom.
49. Any country can boycott ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.12.13)
... any other country. That means that Israel can refuse to sell energy-starved Europe natural gas at deeply discounted prices. It is not as if Israel needs the European Union for exports of natural gas. Countries throughout the world are lining up to buy natural gas from Israel's two massive fields. So, European Union threats of a boycott of Israel are empty, to say the least. And even if they are not -- the EU can also say good-bye to cheap Israeli natural gas.

then immediatelly throw all your computer chips inside your pc asap, throw away instant messaging and your cel phone chip, throw away your crucial medications for cancer and other life threatening diseases and throw away your medical technology invented and made in israel asap so you won't be able to benefit and lengthen your life. then, you can throw away some of the hospitals life saving diagnostic high tech and machines so that you also won't benefit from them. willing to do that? go ahead. make my day.
51. Countless millions will buy Judea/Samaria products.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
The BDS racists try to boycott Israeli products. Israel's countless supporters respond by buying up every Israeli made product in sight. It's called "buycotting" and it's remarkably effective. Countless millions of Jews, Christian Fundamentalists and Conservatives will preferentially buy wonderful Judea and Samaria products.
52. #45. Michael: as per your wishful thinking
Tom W ,   USA   (02.12.13)
No matter how much you are longing for it, it's unlikely that you can stoke up a worldwide "Kristallnacht" (antisemitic pogroms) which was so popular in the 30's. Sure, there are strong antisemitic leftist movement out there but there are decent gentile people as well who will counteract the pernicious leftist designs. You cannot initiate an organized hate campaign in the U.S. against Israel regardless of the Obama's crowd best effort.
53. #45. Trim Israel's waist to 9 miles for easy E.U. visas!!!
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
#45 MIchael. You are TRULY pathetic. You seriously believe Israel will cede our more than 3,500 year old ancestral heartland for easier visas to the E.U.? You seriously believe Israel will trim our waist to 9 miles (15 minute tank ride) for easier visas to the E.U.?? The huge majority of Israelis would never accept this lunatic suicidal leftist idiocy.

Only people like you and your followers say that Jordan is the Palestinian State and the whole world rejects your thinkings. A Palestinian presented his land deed issued by the Ottomans shows Ehud Barack lives in a house built on his land. What is your comment about the man's deed.
57. To: No. 54
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.12.13)
Check out the logistical and extraordinarily expensive nightmare involved in Europe's current natural gas infrastructure.
58. #54. Guess Greece never really needed a bail out.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
#54. I guess you believe Europe is doing just fine economically. Greece never really needed a bailout. Nor did all the rest of the E.U. states supported by German taxpayers. How is the weather in La La Land?
59. #45 -regardless of EU actions, settlements are with us
William ,   Israel   (02.12.13)
and the major blocs are here to stay, and soon to be annexed into Israel, which matches the exactly direction of the Oslo Accords and subsequent agreements bearing PLO signature. That's just one reason why the EU insisted that no sanctions will be taken against Israel on this or any other issue. The labeling loophole is a way to appease the local nitwits in Europe while still adhering to their own promises and agreements. All the EU did was find a labeling issue but never discussed boycotts. And I'm pretty sure - most Israelis - whether they like settlements or not - are not going to sell out their brothers for a few shiny trinkets and little else. ...unless they're Meretz Chairwoman Gal-On.
60. 57 - extraordinarily expensive nightmare
split ,   US   (02.12.13)
Their gas infrastructure provides them an access to few suppliers already and gives them an upper hand in price negotiations they can also say the hell with your sanctions, reconnect with Iran trimming even more today's prices so don't worry about them ,...
