1. Prisoners.
john ,   toronto   (02.12.13)
Prisoners committing suicide and no investigation. Any prisoner who is arrested must be given a lawyer and due process. The State cannot practice tyranny.
2. We don't need no Habeas Corpus in the only democracy in ME
miki ,   tampa   (02.12.13)
3. Well done Ynet
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (02.12.13)
Netanyahu cannot be allowed to brush this under the carpet. We are either a democracy that abides by the rule of law with due process, or we give up the pretence. Anyone can be held under the mearest suspicion of something without access to lawyers, family or due legal process. This cannot be right
4. The whole World
Jon ,   UK   (02.12.13)
can read the details on the Internet right now. Giving-in to government pressure only discredits Israeli 'Journalists'.
5. Not the whole World
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.12.13)
... this site is not accessible from Iran, Saudi Arabia, and many Haredi ISPs.
6. dealing with people who commit high treason
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.12.13)
every person who commits high treason, especially when a member of the state's most essential secccurity agency, and therefore privy to its greatest secrets, must know that he will have assumed incredible risks doing so. although due process of law is essential to every democracy, and although even enemy terrorists are given due process within defined legal limits, the rare traitor who has substantially endangered the entire security of the state, might fall outside normal judicial processes. since no one knows what secrets this man revealed, or even whether the state itself was able to ascertain the full extent of his treachery, it is very difficult to comment, except for the usual platitudes.
7. Very sad indeed
Jake B. ,   Cleveland, OH   (02.12.13)
This will certainly add fuel to the anti-Israel fire. The body will undergo an autopsy in Abu-Kabir. Several years ago, I recall a similar case of a UK citizen. The body was returned to the family with missing organs. Very embarrassing.
8. Tibi got excited about something other than
Jrebecca ,   Modiin   (02.12.13)
his Palestinians? And at this stage it's not even a story, just a maybe story.
9. 1, 2, 3
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (02.12.13)
I don't want to comment on the matter of the alleged suicide, but I think your posts are funny. Aren't you aware that Obama has issued orders that allow him to execute anyone he considers a danger to American security, no lawyer, no judges, no due process, just death.
10. @5
Jon ,   UK   (02.12.13)
I do not know if English is your first language but I said the Internet, NOT this site.

Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (02.12.13)
So it makes you proud that Netanyahu has joined those esteemed nations of Saudi Arabia and Iran in his attempt to censor the press.
12. I wonder...
Harry Wright ,   UK   (02.12.13)
what he did that was so serious that he preferred to take his life rather than face the music. After all, he must have known that Israeli prisons are 5-star hotels. He could have gotten a degree in there, gotten conjugal rights and even a few hours pass which he could have used to get himself spirited across the Syrian border to freedom. Then too, he could have gone on a hunger strike and after a few weeks he would have been released. Maybe he knew the world would be better off without him so he exited of his own accord. Next news item, please.
13. a false arrest is not responsible for suicide
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (02.12.13)
most people arrested falsely don't commit suicide. Something doesn't sound right here. Sounds like there is more to learn in regards as to why this person took his own life? Mentally unbalanced? Some unknown terror suspect?
14. 11 Sarah, London
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.12.13)
despite your hypocrisy, it is well known that every government has state secrets which are censored. think of the official secrets act, or any espionage act. that kid manning who downloaded us diplomatic secrets is facing life in prison. you are confusing, purposefully, the right of people to criticise their government, which is the basis for free speech and free press, with the right to divulge state secrets. what distinguishes totalitarian governments from democracies is in large measure the right of individuals to criticise their governments through speech, press and free association. however, the member of any intelligence service, takes an oath of secrecy, and does so freely. selling out one's country is known as high treason.
15. *IF* There Was a Prisoner . . .
emanon ,   USA   (02.12.13)
What was the prisoner allegedly charged with or being interviewed about?
16. Cipora # 14- something is amiss
Arnold ,   Canada   (02.12.13)
Mordechai Vanunu was kept locked up in solitary to keep him away from the press. Everyone knew he was in jail and maybe that is why he is alive today. But in this case everything was hush hush and the prisoner hung himself. In solitary confinement ??? This is not going to go away Cipora. Eventually it is going to come out. Better to get ahead of it and face the music and let it run its course. Those who hate us will have more ammunition but screw them.
17. If it was "suicide"? Prison service taking lessons from idf
World Citizen   (02.12.13)
18. The story stinks to high heven
wow   (02.12.13)
but can anybody imagine the press in the west getting together with the administration and agree on blocking the publication?
19. 14 Arnold
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.13.13)
he must have committed major espionage, at least, if the outline of the story is true. the story will eventually go away since no one has much interest in it. maybe thirty years from now something will be published. spying is a dirty business. in any case, i am infinitely more concerned about iran, syria, hezbollah, north korea and the lack of western leadership. take care, c do you remember the british cryptographer who was obviusly murdered in london by persons unknown? personally i have no doubt that he was murdered for what he did or what he knew. it was in the uk press for some time, but by now no one talks about it despite the very bizarre nature of his death--locked inside some baggage and put in the bathtub in his apartment. his employers supposedly did not even look for him for over a week.
20. Disgrace.
JR   (02.13.13)
Israel expected Gilad Shalit to be properly treated. Yet it turns out the greatest risk members of the security forces face is from their own State's lack of judicial process. Maybe this person saw someone having an affair or uncovered corruption? Who knows.
21. 14 - that kid manning who downloaded us diplomatic ,...
split ,   US   (02.13.13)
So, you know the name of the 'kid' that downloaded US diplomatic secrets, now tell us what was the name of the prisoner that allegedly committed suicide your prison and what was he there for ? ,... An intimidated, submissive and collaborating media, that's another subject ,...
22. it is interesting that this story comes out now
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.13.13)
why would tibi know anything about this story? why is it being publicised just now? if indeed this man killed himself in israel, where he was a citizen, supposedly with a wife and children, why was he burried in australia? why would the hevra kadisha agree to burry him? but the main question is the timing of this story. without doubt, someone is trying to put more pressure on israel. someone is leaking israel's secrets. someone has been leaking israel's secrets for the last four years. that someone will not benefit from his perfidy.
23. To # 6 So what you are saying is that
Stan ,   Israel   (02.13.13)
Israel has the right, for security reasons to do what ever she pleases.? 75 years ago there were people who said, "I support my county above all"
24. His name and family are all over the Australian media.
Art from Australia ,   Melbourne Australia   (02.13.13)
25. Hmm ,...
split ,   US   (02.13.13)
The fact that this dirty secret was exposed only after election that's just coincident ;) ,...
26. Journalists....like those at Ynet
John Robey ,   Austin, Texas   (02.13.13)
"cooperating" with government attempts to censor..... no, not the crack elite corps of truth seeking journalists at Ynet.
27. 23
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.13.13)
obama personally orders the killing of enemy terrorists every tuesday. the lybian war alone has caused tens of thousands of deaths. so stop the hypocrisy game.
28. #21 and #14
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (02.13.13)
