Wait, Spielberg will make a movie on this traitor.
32. #22: WRONG!
Joshua ,   Pittsburgh, PA USA   (02.14.13)
Pollard was sharing information that should have been shared in the first place, but of course Jews are "allergic to gas", per the State Department. Indeed, it may be because of Pollard that Iraq never went nuclear, thus acting to the benefit of both Israel AND the US. Not to mention that Aldrich Ames placed the blame of all of his own crimes on him. On the other hand, Zygier had no reason to divulge names, none whatsoever. That is true treason, whether it's because he's acting at the behest of an antagonistic agency for ideological or pecuniary reasons.

Bright dude wouldn't sign with botchers like Mossad, there're other countries and agencies that do what must be done and unlike Mossad efficiently and traceless - At least they are not on the front pages of newspapers or TV screens every other week ,...

All these stern talkbackers who say Zygier deserved to die - are you the same ones who demand Pollard be freed and downplay his treasonous actions?

Funny, I cannot ever remember Israel dropping a super sophisticated helicopter in Pakistan and neglecting to blow up the tail rotor assembly. But the U.S. did that. Remember all the botched assassination attempts against Castro? How about Aldrich Ames, who ran the CIA's Russia Counter-Espionage Desk? Come to think of it, Robert Hanson had a similar position with the FBI. Then there was the little matter of James Jesus Angleton's best friend being Kim Philby. They used to get together and discuss tradecraft. In the event you are unaware, Kim Philby was the station chief for MI6 and James Jesus Angleton was head of the CIA. Kim Philby was also a Soviet spy. Talk about amateurs and idiots. At least the Mossad disposes of traitors. Please don't get me started.
43. @34, @38
SteveR ,   Dallas USA   (02.14.13)
No - as usual you have things completely wrong. This shows Jews around the world and Israel's enemies that Israel means business and deadly business. That is a very good lesson. It makes me feel warm inside. As for other agencies being so efficient - sure - sure - just keep telling that to yourself as US ambassadors are killed, N. Korea gets a nuclear bomb, the US loses mineral rights in Afghanistan, Britain is literally overrun with islamists who are free to kill, the US is suckered into a war in Iraq by what was probably an Iranian agent, Pakistan sends kill squads into India, Egypt and Syria spin out of control and on and on and on- just keep telling yourself Tom Clancy writes non-fiction and the CIA is on top of it. What a joke.
44. ''Sarah B'' is a joke, right?
(02.14.13)
the woman is a total embarrassment She must be responsible for 50% of the antisemitism in the English-speaking world just from her Ynet posts alone; the effect she has in the real world accounting for the remaining 50%. She is grotesque.... the walking embodiment of every known antisemitic stereotype.. I mean seriously, Ynet. Is she on Israel's side or is she is an agent provocateur?
45. Open your mouth and end up in jail
David ,   Israel   (02.14.13)
This man must have spilled the beans for he obviously wanted recognition to some degree or had been tracked down and manipulated into giving details. Whatever really happened remains a mystery but I do think it's safe to say that he was imprisoned for matters of state security and given full rights from having his own lawyers to even having his body transported for burial in Australia . His sentence must have been something like 25 years which is usually how long it takes before a Mossad operation is declassified and written in a book.

"US is suckered into a war in Iraq by what was probably an Iranian agent" Yeah right, by the stupidity of your former governor - Google "Letter to President Clinton on Iraq' and "Letter to President Bush on the War on Terrorism" read the signatures below to confirm who's homies they are ,... Long list but the crap started on Bush's/neo-con watch as a payback for our unconditional support of little bully ,...

49. To all the "he deserved to die" posters
Nina ,   NYC   (02.15.13)
You say he deserved to die because he betrayed his country and put other agents in danger. Well, then, that means Pollard deserves to die. Agreed?

World Citizen ,   the world   (02.15.13)
If I were Jewish or Israeli I would cringe every time she opened her mouth. Unfortunately many Ynutters feel and express themselves in the same way. If there is any justice in this universe let them be judged as they have judged so many times here on this site.
51. To #18; the "do-gooders" and cheerleaders:
pearl ,   usa   (02.15.13)
While Trevor Borman and Koutsoukis are celebrating their role in the "expose"; the 3 MK' s are patting themselves of the good they have done in checking "excesses" by the Israeli government whilst protecting democracy; and everyone else has had either his 3 minutes of glory speaking to the media, or a go at the punching-bag, may I be so bold as to be a party-pooper. (My politics and philosophy aside.) How about some consideration for the man's family? Perhaps he was kept anonymous also for his own protection and his family's? As reported, he had agreed to the idea of anonymity. With his lawyers conceivably around. And why not? Because there was the possibility at the material time, that his very capable and reputable lawyers may succeed in "clearing his name"; and it would then have been smart to have kept his name secret, if that came to pass. So great, now everyone knows his name, who his parents are, his wife and children, etc. So now, any malevolent person or group can potentially blackmail them or give them grief or worse. Brilliant! Oh, the length one would go to keep the cattle prod on Israel. Don't mind the collateral damage. And by the way, what was his lawyer, Feldman, thinking when he squealed and revealed his client's name (fully aware of the agreement to keep the client anonymous)?
52. To: No. 49
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.15.13)
Before you make a complete fool of yourself, you might want to look up the difference between treason and espionage under United States law. The last person tried for treason in the United States was Aaron Burr. That happened in 1803.
53. How can you "Blow the whistle" on.....
Robert ,   Australia   (02.16.13)
.....something that is already widely known? It must be obvious to all that this guy was killed. Hanging one's self in a supposed suicide proof cell well? How stupid can you be?
54. Iran
Matt   (02.16.13)
Everyone wants to know about what Israel is up to on Iran. Better to be SGT Schultz. You always report any contact for a foreign agency straight away. If you can't return and see your family again or are charged with treason, thats is the business. Unlike military service and duel citizenship intelligence work is a black area an operative for one is a illegal to the other and treason.
