Can you produce a single bit of evidence to confirm your statement that "it didn't happen"?
32. oh please; YNet why do you need to subject us to this always

33. harrasment
Shlomo ,   NYC   (02.17.13)
there are haredim who are respectful and who behave ethically, work and pay taxes, serve in the army or national service, study Torah, and contribute to the larger society in positive ways. Regretfully, these bigots who pretend that they are observant G'd fearing and right, tend to be the ones who "eat for free" in Israel: they do not serve in the army or national service, they do not work and do not pay taxes, receive money from the state, are a burden to the rest of the country, and in general are not Torah scholars -they just attend Yeshivah or Kohelet but this does not make them smart. Yet, these social parasites have been enabled by the state and some political parties to have such sense of entitlement that they dare to tell others what to do, how to think, how to dress and they are the ones who harassed this young woman who actually is a student in a health profession --and paradoxically some day she might provide help to these very same culprits' families. enough is enough! Good for you Noa for calling the police. Next recruit some friends and all of you together board these buses!

Wrong. The torah teaches us to treat others as we'd like to be treated.
35. I find this hard to believe.
David ,   Ashdod israel   (02.17.13)
I am an American(very few live here) living in Ashdod. There are religious buses, and everyone knows which ones they are. If this lady was taking a regular bus; the Haridum would not take the bus,and do this. Very few Ashdod residents speak English as she does. She was a journalistic plant, and needed something to print. I am not Heridi and don't agree with them not serving in the IDF. However, to make up or setup a story like this; these people should be ashamed of themselves and this woman who claims it happened.
36. Bus ride with Haredi passengers
chilli raveh ,   beersheba, israel   (02.17.13)
תושיה נהדרת! כל הכבוד
37. Fed up with Haredi harrassment
Dan S.   (02.17.13)
As someone who tried to show respect to the Haredim only to be harassed myself, I am fed up. Arrest the perpetrators of this and similar incidents. Take them out to the Negev where they can take shovels and dig ditches for use by the army. If they fail to do the work, they can become permanent residents of those ditches. Enough is enough.

Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (02.17.13)
to clarify: are you implying that it is acceptable that the Head of State of Spain MUST be the descendant of one particular man? Sounds like racism to me!

Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (02.17.13)
Kol hakavod Sarah! For once I agree with you 100%. Excellently expressed.

J82 ,   Barcelona   (02.17.13)
1. my question wasn't rethorical. I was interested in the answer 2. As to your reference to the Spanish Monarchy. Last time I checked he was not the head of government. And anyway i'm not Spanish or Catalan so I couldn't care less. 3. Royalty has nothing to do with racism. Though I don't like one or the other.
41. Hate crimes.
Michael ,   Kokhav Ya'ir, Israel   (02.17.13)
This is a hate crime. They should all serve a year in the army for their crimes.
42. Oh, please....get over it already.....
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (02.17.13)
Oooohhhh....people called her a name. So flippin what? Is it nice? Should people act that way? No, of course not. But it's not abuse.
43. Clowns
Gady ,   Mexico City   (02.17.13)
You idiots be careful! You make the mistake of ofending my daughter or my wife, and I will, personally, beat the crap out of you with a base ball bat! on shabat!
44. Respect
Sruly ,   Israel   (02.17.13)
No the Jewish Religion is about respect; Man to Man Man to G-D This is what the Torah teaches. We have a problem in Israel that must be solved by Israeli's. It is obvious that you are not a member of the tribe. Abraham was told by G-D to take care of his guests first and come back to G-D after they were tended. This is respect for one's guests before all else. The bus driver should have stepped in to protect the guest on his bus. Egged is a cowardly company that continues to promote this type a behavior by not stepping up and saying enough. This includes the police.
45. @Larry
L Green ,   NY USA   (02.17.13)
Why cause hardship to this lady who was in the front before anyone else got on? If the Haredi men have a problem with women because they can't control their sexual urges, let THEM go to the back of the bus or get off.
46. abused
david howe ,   dubbo australia   (02.17.13)
the actions of these people against this young women is very wrong and very wrong for Israel its actions like this that make people hate Jewish people i think you have to reeducate every one to be more moderate in attitude
47. harassment by hassidim
franklyn wepner ,   safed, israel   (02.17.13)
i live in safed, a town full of hassidic sects and secular tourists. i look moderately religious. that is not good enough for either the religious fanatics or the secular fanatics. i get abuse from both sides in safed. i find it nauseating. we have enough problems in israel without breeding our own taliban.
48. "driver shouldn't get involved"
Avi   (02.17.13)
This is disgusting and unacceptable. The bus is the property of the company and what goes there, especially harassment over seating is their responsibility. This disgusting behavior makes me remember many decades ago of the prosecution of black people in the US where a black woman was told to go to the back. Except this isn't just towards black but the entire female population. Absolutely disgusting.
50. Litigation
JDE ,   Boston, USA   (02.17.13)
It's time for someone to file a class-action lawsuit against Egged for a huge sum of money.
51. JDE # 50
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (02.17.13)
The bus company isn't the problem.
52. Why don't the men send themselves to the back of the bus?
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.18.13)
53. This is a major problem
Sagi   (02.18.13)
and a solution must be found. These incidents are bad enough, but what is just as bad, if not worse, is the fact that nobody does anything about it. People on the scene do not want to get involved and the authorities do nothing. Prosecution and punishment should be the order of the day.
54. Silly Haredim!
USA   (02.18.13)
55. Police women should randomly
Jay ,   Israel   (02.18.13)
sit in the front of the bus and start arresting people who harass her. That would put an end to this nonsense in short order.
56. Who has made this ruling of gender separation on buses?
Ernest   (02.18.13)
57. woman harassed on bus by haredim
dongszkie ,   philippines   (02.18.13)
the govt is still very much impotent to deal with this haredim that harassed and abused helpless women in a public transport. And why not empower drivers to have authority to throw out passengers that behaves such a way? By not doing something to prevent this kind of abuse the drivers are becoming an accomplish to the crime or misdemeanor.
58. David , 35 . There is ONLY ONE direct bus
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.18.13)
From Safed to Ashdod , Friday . otherways you have to change , takes more time , and is more expensive . See Egged homepage . Secondly , who says that she spoke in English ? This article appears in the Hebrew Ynet too . Three , do you think that only Americans speak English ? You are the one who should be ashamed because of your writing
59. Ynet encorages racism....TATA

How come you couldn't care less about the place you live in? This is a far more interesting question than the one you asked #1.
