Please stop trying to blame Israel for Sabra and Chatilla when we know not one single Israeli killed any Arab there. We know the person who ordered the massacre was Elie Hobeika who worked for Assad in the 82 war. Tell me why did Assad put Hobeika in the Syrian controlled Lebanese parliament for 10 years. Ofcouse you dont write that in 1985 the Syrian backed Amal group killed hundreds of Arabs in Chatilla. Nor do you write about the hundreds of thousands of Arabs killed by each other in the last 40 years. The PLO was evicted by force by Jordan in 1970 at the cost of thousands of Palestinian lives. Then Arafat tried to do the same thing in Lebanon. Over 100,000 Lebanese were killed in the civil war Arafat started in Lebanon in 1975. I'm not a lawyer, not a general. I'm not versed on such matters but I know the local history of the time and I employ common sense. Why would they accuse Israel of genocide, due to an event that was 2 kilometers at least from any IDF troops, at a time of a civil war between all the ethnic tribes of Lebanon? That civil war killed or expelled 1 in 4 Lebanese. Hundreds of thousands killed and more than a million escaped to the far corners of the world in a war between sunnis, shia, christians, Bedouins and palestinians. So among that years old civil war where hundreds of thousands died, there was an event where christian arabs killed muslim arbas, adding hundreds of deaths to a list of hundreds of thousands, but they decided instead to pin the responsibility on Israel, even though no IDF soldiers were involved and were kilometers away from the event. In such a situation where in a civil war torn country I do not see the logic to blame Israel when arabs kill arabs. Even today we're in the same scenario. Shall we blame Israel too if Syrians die on the Syrian side of the Golan? I'll attempt not to draw parallels to our arab neighbors, neither to Lebanon (that was tearing itself apart)...Or to Syria (that only few years before massacred 30,000 of its own people in a single month), or to Jordan (that killed just as many of its own palestinian citizens in a single month just before that time as well)... but the point I'm passing is that while these dark countries massacred their own citizens and in a single month EACH of them caused more casualties, in a single month, than in nearly all of the Israel-Arab wars combined, no reports were made and no international accusations brought forth. Yet we make a report, and the world condemns when arabs kill hundreds of arabs (In a civil war!) when IDF soldiers were several kilometers away and "could have prevent it". My point is this cynicism is unacceptable, and makes one roll his eyes even when we do cooperate and make that report. Just because we're lawful and hold ourselves to higher standards than our neighbors (as does the world) does not mean this dark cynicism should be ignored and accepted. Not when it comes from the world, and CERTAINLY not when it comes from the arab states (and their supporters), when this was just another case in a long list of arabs killing arabs.

Ariel Sharon is evil person? Why? Because he protected the Jewish solders? You gotta be kidding. Ariel Sharon proved then and later when he became prime minister that he is the true leader of the country. If he was not in his current condition and continued leading the country, we would never had the Second Lebanon War and Iran's issue. I pray for his recovery and wish his family strengh and courage.

Like or dislike Sharon, but at least stay true to the facts. Sharon had nothing to do with Sabra and Shatilla. Sabra and Shatilla massacre was the work of Assad. Mubarak did the same mistake as Sharon-he didn't stop the security-police from killing the protestors even if he didn't give orders to kill them. Your making up history. The Phalangists led by Elie Hobeika told Sharon they would go into Sabra and Chatilla to target only the PLO fighters. So how is it Sharon's fault. Sharon was the one who stopped th Phalangist once he realized what Elie Hobeika did and how Hobeika lied about his intentions. It was then learned by Hobeika's bodyguard, (Roger Hatem), Elie Hobeika was a Syrian agent in the 82 War. Hatem was Hobeika's bodyguard for 10 years including in the 82 Lebanon war.. Roger Hatem wrote a book called, from Israel to Damascus. You can find the book online and read the reviews on Amazon. Hatem documents, how Hobeika ordered the killings at Sabra and Chatilla to make Israel look bad, so Syria could control Lebanon. The only reason why the Christians went along with Hobeika's orders, was to avenge the thousands of Christians, who were killed by the PLO in Damour Lebanon and because the Lebanese Christian President Gamayel was just killed.

Everything you say would be arguable if you do not ignore two salient facts. First, no one denies that Hubeika gave the orders. If Sharon was bad, Hubeika was worse. If Sabra and Shatilla was a crime, why is it that no one in Lebanon ever cared enough to prosecute him or kill him? Why did Assad make him a minister (I think environment) in the Lebanese government? Second, why is it when Hubeika was finally murdered it was by Assad when Hubeika was on his way to testify to the UN? How blind can you be? You must be the only person in the world who still blames Sharon. #22, don't forget Hubeika's personal history that made him agree to work with Assad. The PLO raped and murdered his fiance. By working with Assad he could get his fair revenge.
