Some restaurants in Israel have top world rankings. Best food in Europe is in Belgium and the worst is probably in Germany. I like Hungarian food but really like Moroccan.

11. Maybe you can all just stop being racist for a few seconds.
Ilan ,   Ramat Gan. Israel   (03.11.13)
What tastes better is subjective, some may like kosher food better, some halal. Making racist comments just for the sake of making racist comments, get a life!!!! The fact that these meals are prepared outside the jail, says a lot. Despite how the prison claims there is no difference in quality. Daash to the TROLLS at #8 and #10
12. nothing new really
rjh ,   tel aviv   (03.11.13)

Only, they use the Muslim line about their diet.
17. Yes, split the food at Guantanimo IS halal.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.12.13)
An earlier talk backer asked mockingly if the prisoners at Gitmo get halal food. Well, they do. And Qurans and arrows pointing to Mecca. Cooperative prisoners also get access to the new soccer field. The proper way to deal with requests for what would be higher cost meals is to have "premium" offerings that carry a supplementary cost. As to those requesting kosher meals in prison, something tells me they're not following other distinctly Jewish practices.
18. @10 Split and #14 Benassi
Ben ,   Chutzlaaretz   (03.12.13)
I normally ignore you trolls, but since others may want to know the answer.. YES, the observant Muslim inmates at Gitmo and in most US prisons get Halal food if they ask for it. And for the record, that food as well as Kosher, Vegan, Hindu etc.. are usually prepped off site, but they all suck compared to home or restaurant food available outside of prison. Don't think for one moment this amounts to gourmet treatment.
19. #18. 14 is not mine. Kosher is about control, power, money,
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.12.13)
...dominance. Food is just one example.
20. to #19 Benassi
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (03.12.13)
no Steve, kashrut is about religious decrees. Same as mandating celibacy for Roman Catholic priests. Same as halal. Glad to see you bellyaching here. It shows you are not busy actually ==doing anything== to stop us from re-building our Hebrew Shilton from River to Sea.
21. #8 Benass - They're frauds
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (03.12.13)

BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (03.12.13)

24. Sadistic jailers lie!
US Jew Prisoner ,   USA Jail   (03.13.13)
No gentile US prisoner will ask for kosher diet! I was in largest US jail in Cook Co. Chicago & other states. Kosher meals are much smaller. Tastes even worse than regular. No meat at all. Better to get vegan diet. It takes 30 days to get on kosher list, but I didn't get in 45 & lost 20 lbs. Jailers use diet as a tool of coersion. Sadistic. Starve prisoners. Inmates saw me starving & shared milk & bread. Shame on Chicago Jews who don't care. Many jailed for no reason, like me, & charges dropped, but we endure tortures in US jails. Shame!
25. #34 U.S. Jew did you expect better
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (03.14.13)
in Chicago of all places. The state is corrupt from top to bottom, the ex-Governor was jailed & Obummer is in charge in the USA Almost all people in jaill claim that they shouldn't be there
26. kosher inmates
abbushuki ,   Los Angeles, CA   (06.12.13)
I don't know why this is news. It's always been the case from the first kosher meal served in any jail. Often, the meals get stolen before they can be served to a Jew. (How do thieves ever get in?) They are a commodity in jail. Solution: extensive interviews and tests by Jewish chaplains to determine authenticity. Questions like: What special food is served on Yom Kippur? or What kind of challah is served at the Passover seder? etc.
