Purim is a great story, however, the theft of it by the gay community is an abomination just like their life style is. Purim is a deliverance from HaShem of the Jewish people from yet another Pogram. The gay lifestyle is a direct violation of Torah. There is no comparison.
3. Vashti the First Feminist?
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (02.28.13)
Apropos to this modern "twist" of the Purim tale, a local [reform] temple presented their own diluted and distorted take on Purim with Vashti taking center stage as The First Feminist because she refused to dance for her hubby, the king. Hence, the reasons we celebrate Purim, Haman's hideous plot to destroy us, Esther's courage, and our ultimate redemption, all took a back seat to Vashti's feminist agenda.

Inspiriation can be drawn from anywhere. If some gay people choose to draw inspiration from such an important figure like Esther, that is a good thing. Purim, like Chanukah is a festival that we brought ourselves. It came from our bravery and our devotion and support to each other. There are many things in the torah that we don't focus on anymore or see completely ridiculous, however, you choose to focus on one that has no effect on your life at all. Let people love who they want to love and keep your hateful opinions to yourself.

The sad reality of the french jewish community is that it doesnt exist, there are no jewish community, there are institutions, and individualism and rigidity in the local orthodoxy. Not as in Israel... but still !
