Obama is trying to dismantle capitalism, the economic engine of this country, and deconstruct the last 70 years of foreign policy. He has put US interests second to everything. Mr Benassi, I have read your posts for a while now and can not disagree with your main premise for the majority of your arguements more. Your arhuements ALWAYS net out to the same thing....Israel will be dictated to and better oblige or else. Let me understand how you think that the world is going to pressure Israel to do something that has no legal basis for which the "so-called" world's arguement is based on. The Israelis have no legal obligation to facilitate the birth of a Palestinian state. The territories were taken when attacked by 2 sovereign nations and it is ONLY those 2 nations by which legal precedent MIGHT apply. Reality has proven that Israeli overtures are met with more and more belligerence and therefore the only conclusion I/we can draw from your unrealistic (likely heartfelt) positions is that you want the worst for the state and its inhabitants. Simple analysis really but I welcome a response from you to clarify what your intent really is.

Senator Hagel shows perfect willingness to weaken and squander the free world's greatest Department of Defense. As it's secretary, he leads that uniquely honorable department of the US government. The author's claim that he is "pro-Israel at his core" is pure fantasy, based on his congressional record and his statements. The notion that his appointment is unimportant to Israel is preposterous. US defense and Israel's defense are two of the most important peace inducing factors in the entire world.
