1. Joan Rivers is vulgar and should not be
miriam ,   israel   (03.02.13)
taken seriously.
2. Joan Rivers
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (03.02.13)
The packaging is less important than what the message carries - that the Germans forced Jews into the ovens. The laughter only belies the fact that the message was grasped. The laughter soon fades. Not the horror. Humor is Joan Rivers' mode of communication.,, and it's infinitely more potent than anything Foxman ever got across to an audience.
3. Foxman is a pompous potato, this was Rivers at her anti-PC
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.02.13)
best! Great sense of humour plus: she can afford it being Jewish. So she used it, so what?! Go girl!
4. Foxman needs to relax
Aharon   (03.02.13)
This isn't offensive. Not PC -yes, but no offensive. If anyone is being offensive, it's Foxman. How are we supposed to remember the Holocaust if we can't talk about it?
5. She & Don Rickles cut like a razor and spare no one
Cameron ,   USA   (03.02.13)
6. chill people take a joke

Long live Joan the queen of comedy
7. She's a comic for petes sake
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (03.03.13)
the court jester if you will. If she can't poke fun at us who can? Not saying she used the best taste however.
8. Nothing funny about the worst kind of evil
Sarah   (03.03.13)
I read about how Jewish babies and little children were beaten then grabbed from the arms of their parents and while still alive thrown into ovens to suffer the most painful torturous death imaginable. The human race has never seen such demonic cruelty. I used to have nightmares and the worst panic attacks thinking about that, and I am not even Jewish. Anyone who could joke about this has to be a seriously disturbed very cruel person.
9. Joan Rivers
Harold ,   USA   (03.03.13)
Why should she. There is absolutely no reason for her to opologize.
10. its time
avi ,   nyc   (03.03.13)
for theADL to startdefending Jews not liberal goyim
11. There are various ways to remind the Germans
Sagi   (03.03.13)
and remind them we must. Yad Vashem, not owning a Mercedes, not visiting Germany and then there is Joan Rivers. They nust be reminded in every possible way and at every opportunity, it must be shoved down their throats. She was only doing her job the best way she knows how.
12. Burn or Build, It's Ones Perspective
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (03.03.13)
Years ago, a relative who fought in Guam ( army intelligence), was badmouthing "Jewish comedy" an comedians as trite, vulger and appealing to/creating Jew haters. Looking back, he was making a mountain out of a.....as the expression goes. Humor serves many purposes. But River's who is not a Jewish role model, was simply not smart, similar to that other fout mouth Jewish comedian, who convinced Florida oldsters to vote for the Democratic candidate using pressure from their grand children., Jewish "schtick can sometimes back fire, even though innocous meant. We publicize Madoff, Abramof, Milken and Boesky, while forgetting those who contribute huge sums to (others) charities and encourage Tikkun Olam to repair (and save) the world, while the world in part hates us. With over 45,000 NAZI camps now revealed, I am waiting for the next joke. Some say, build, baby build, others say burn baby burn, just kidding. In fact 8m Germans died to burn 240,000 German Jews, now that's serious stuff on both sides.
13. Out-of-touch and irrelevant Foxman is way, way off base
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (03.04.13)
These sort of stupid demands for "apologies" have become a metaphor for just how little Abe Foxman and his ADL represent US Jews. He does not speak for US Jews anymore than Joan Rivers does. The difference is...she doesn't claim to, unlike the pompous and overpaid Foxman. Joan Rivers did not insult Heidi Klum, she was offering a compliment. Nor did she insult the current generation of Germans. She was clearly referring only to the Nazi-era Germans, in her trademark crude brand of humor, and they are clearly owed no apology. None. The same would be true if her "joking" comment, tasteless and amatuerish as it was, had been delivered by a non-Jew. Foxman needs to get his head out of his tuchas and do his job, not pretend to do his job. The ADL is long overdue for younger blood than the bumbling putz Foxman. He is an embarrassment. We don't need thought police. Joan Rivers is not a threat to Jews.
