1. Peace deal is impossible for now.
Sam ,   Canada   (03.04.13)
Peace deal is impossible now. It may be possible in one year or in 10 years. G-d didn't send the Jews to live in an area where they would never have peace.
2. Something else should be done
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (03.04.13)
instead of empty words. Both sides of the Arava valley belonged to the historical Kanaan. Let us call it Palestine. The nabatees created here a flourishing agricultural territory with Petra, as their capital. Now, 2000 years later why not to do the same again ? The Red Sea-Dead Sea project must be realised, with desalination plants and other industrial objects. A new habitable country is on the horisont for arabs and jews as well. It is simply a queston of money !
3. Barak wants do destroy Israel unilaterally !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.04.13)
This is MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. "Deal with pals impossible, period."
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (03.04.13)
Israel knows there will never be any deal at all that is possible with the pals, how could there be when the pals 'demands' are greater than Israel's basic security needs? This farce must end, there are two factions of pals with one goal, power over Israel. Gaza is but one example of why this must never be repeated. Seems the pals want everything in Israel but the Jews who are the only legal owners and legal heirs. KEEP BUILDING !!!
5. Barak should have limited his comments to Iran
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.04.13)
making public declarations about the palestinian issue at this time was most unhelpful. barak is an excellent military man, but he has always failed as a politician. his remarks, especially given that he has resigned from politics, have only hemmed in israel at a time when obama will put undue pressure on israel to give up her own national security interests.
6. Obama's ' vision' or Obama's delusion?
moshe ,   Tivon, Israel   (03.04.13)
I hope that the Israeli government will be very careful in avoiding the many OBVIOUS "traps" and not-so obvious "holes" in the road. The "road" referred to is the Isreali plan to survive Pres Obama's vision. which may be good for the USA, but DEADLY for Israel. Obama's vision may also be short sighted, a delusion, and disasterous for Israel... while the USA slowly diminishes ...like a sunset. For Israel to choose its own path means that allies in the US Congress are Israel's greatest weapon. Obama's vision is the Israeli
7. Peace with Palestinians NOW - Impossible
Sam Sweiry ,   Eastbourne - UK   (03.04.13)
I agree - this no time to compromise the security of Israel - Open your eyes & look around - Look at Turkey - Look at Egypt now - Listen to the hate on arab TV & Radios - just listen - Is this is the road to peace with partners in peace?
8. Let's be honest why Israel pays.
BUTSeriousy ,   Sydney   (03.04.13)
The numb, dumb acceptance of Britain's corruption of the Balfour and the White Pper was the substantial cause of the Holocaust. Israel could do nothing then in response. But accepting the continuing genocidal premise of a 3-state as a 2-state, and the transfer of the name Palestinian from Jews to Muslims - was Israel's great error.
9. #3 and #5: You seem to forget: Barak is OUT!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
He almost destroyed Labor and destroyed his own party which no longer exits. He is only Defense Minister until a new government is formed within two weeks or after the fall of Bibi in the next election! As for a "good general" well, a good general doesn't leave soldiers hurt and dying and fly off in his helicopter! Barak is gone and hopefully Bibi will follow!
10. Better than Gaza
Daniel ,   Netherlands   (03.04.13)
Unilateral steps is not a bad idea, if is executed in a better way than in Gaza, for example Philadelphi corridor should had never been given back. This can be an interim step pending the final agreement
11. Peace comes through resounding military victory.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
NOTHING would be worse for Israel than a "peace deal with Palestinians". It would cost us: *Jerusalem * Judea *Samaria * Defensible borders * Freedom from constant rocket attacks * Freedom from inundation by hostile Arabs * Israel's survival. The answer is resounding military victory over "Palestinians" and their prompt departure from our land. Just as the WW II Allies created permanent peace in Europe and Asia through resounding mililtary victory.
12. Peace deal is only possible when the jews drive out of Pales
BLT   (03.04.13)
Palestine the majority of non-jews. Keep only enoungh to serve the jews children of G-d
13. With Israel All Things Are Impossible
World Citizen ,   the world   (03.04.13)
Israel has never wanted peace with anyone much less the Palestinian people. Israel needs enemies and if there are none your government will continually invent them. It's part of Jewish identity politics. It's what keeps Jews in their self-imposed ghettos. It's what keeps the tribe together.
