1. Correct Caption: Dome of the Rock.
Ali ,   Washington, DC   (03.12.13)
The blue building with golden dome is Dome of the Rock, not Al Aqsa Mosque. Al Aqsa mosque is the larger structure to the south of the Dome of the Rock.
2. Hmm ,...
split ,   US   (03.12.13)
Is Turkey really the proverbial hell to free speech loving journalists or a victim of hasbara witch-hunt? This author's presence here contradicts everything Sara and her hasbara goons trying to pin on Ankara's regime ,...
3. An Enlightned and beautiful article
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa Israel   (03.12.13)
Full of truith and goodness
4. Get the Palestinians to agree
Wade ,   NYC USA   (03.12.13)
Ms. Sinem Tezyapar convinced me, but I do not expect the Waqf or Palestinian leaders to agree to any Jewish expressions on the Temple Mount. The ultra-orthodox may not want to rebuild the 3rd Temple, but most Jews would welcome the opportunity for organized prayer on the Temple Mount.
5. "Under different circumstances..."
William ,   Israel   (03.12.13)
"Under different circumstances, in an atmosphere of trust, love and brotherhood, Muslims would welcome this (rebuilding of Solomon's Temple) with enthusiasm." But in the history of Islam, has there ever been such an atmosphere? Since its inception, the main component of Islam was spreading it among "infidels", mostly through subjugation and violence. In order for such a trust atmosphere to exist, Islam must take a role of "one of" great monotheistic religions and erase their mindset of "supremacy".
6. Say what? Israel is a sovereign country but JORDAN
Insanity ,   in Israel   (03.12.13)
controls the Temple Mount in Jerusalem? Israel reconquered ALL OF JERUSALEM including the Temple Mount in 1967. It's ours.
7. Refreshing to see G-d placed before politics
William ,   Israel   (03.12.13)
The argument in this article can also be extended to the Cave of Patriarchs in Hebron.
8. Anyone else notice the Op-Ed is from a woman?
William ,   Israel   (03.12.13)
How often do we see such eloquence coming from a woman, religious or otherwise, while much fighting rhetoric comes from the men in society? The change towards female empowerment will have a greater effect on mankind, and such a letter of understanding, that which hasn't been seen among Muslims in centuries, is certainly hopeful.
9. I Seriously Doubt Those Words Will Come To Pass
emanon ,   USA   (03.12.13)
There are all too many arabs that feel the statement is a misquote, that YNET missed the fine print. I've included the fine print in the angle brackets and made it larger so it is easier to read: "Devout Muslim dreams of seeing people of all <> faiths praying together . . ." After all, don't they believe "Convert or die" is what "submission" means?
10. #1. Of course, the Rock
A ,   Belgium   (03.12.13)
the rock that symbolizes the rock thrown by "palestinian" terrorists that will kill Asher Palmer and his infant son.
11. Unbelieveable
Iranian H   (03.12.13)
First of all, that temple is not holy, neither it is old. It is created after Byzantine was conquered. Second, the idea that she wants temple of solomon to be tebuild but that dome of rock also still exist. Is like saying she wants to make cheese without milk. Third, in order to be truthful to reform islam, one must admits the bad parts of it first. Such as Mohammad killing many jews, and that invasion towards Persia, India and many more that are definitely not "self defense jihad" as if Jihad itself is self defense. Only muslims understand what jihad means. Fourth, One can't wants peace and honor to jews while ignoring the suffering kurds, and the genocide of armenians and the colonization of the Greeks. Admit it all. Fifth, This is a love jihad, the purpose is to make Islam looks good and try to convert as many to islam indirectly. Quite smart, since only learned people will know Islam true history and it's teachings.
12. Not equal
Devorah   (03.12.13)
Very tired of Ms. Tezyapar putting Quran on a par with Tanakh when there is so much contradiction between the two. Tired of her putting G-d on a par with Allah.
13. Oh please!
Mira ,   Vienna   (03.12.13)
When will you journalists ever learn that THIS IS NOT THE ALAQSA; BUT THE DOME OF THE ROCKS. Please try to get educated!
14. What a crap!!
Beary White ,   Norway   (03.12.13)
As long as islamic followers reject ANY other religion as valuable as islam, there will be no discussion or equality!! Islam has a violent side against other religion and should be banned as an illegal cult. Their behaviour through religious law-making, sharia, kills their own believers and put people into misery, not prosperity and freedom.
15. Full of heart, lacking in reality
PaulD ,   Jerusalem   (03.12.13)
One very significant fact is not understood by the writer. The Dome of the Rock stands where it is, because this place was chosen by G-d, was and is Holy to Jews, and signifies Islamic domination over the Judaism. Otherwise, it would be just another stable for Mohammad's horses. Unfortunately, there is no substitute for that space of holiness for the 3rd Temple. At the time when the Temple will be rebuilt, Jews will accept their role as Jews, and Muslims will no longer interfere with Jewish destiny. That is not something Jews nor Muslims will do on their own. Unfortunately it will be forced down our throats by the Creator, one way or another.
16. sadly temple mount needs new management
zionist forever   (03.12.13)
In 1967 the Israeli government said that all holy sites would be free access to everybody but thanks to Moshe Dayan the government let the Waqf stay in charge rather than have it governed by the Israeli authorities now we are suffering for it. The Waqf are turning the place into a construction site, Jews are as good as banned from visiting the site and the Israeli governments are to afraid to take on the Waqf so they go along with them. If the Muslims are being oppressive and the Israeli governments are unwilling to stop it then its time for new management. We need to create a specialist UN body made up of a handful of western countries (no Israel or Muslim countries) If the locals can't look after their property somebody else must for everybodies interest. This body should make laws on archeology, construction, access & prayer and this body must have physical observers at the site 24/7 to make sure the rules are enforced. This body should not though be able to take control of other holy sites like the Kotel for the sake of the peace process or anything else, that must remain solely in the hands of Israel.
17. The Third Temple
Abraham ,   Sydney, Australia   (03.12.13)
When the Third Temple is erected, only then can everyone pray there. Both Jew and Gentile will have right to pray. With all due respect, right now there is a building standing for one people only, those of Islam. There is no freedom to everyone. When the Temple stands again, then we will see that everyone will have the chance to stand on the Temple Mount and worship.
18. Practicality of such an idea
Stuart D. ,   Chicago, USA   (03.12.13)
While I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment of allowing multi-denominational prayer on the Temple Mount, neither the Waqf nor the Third Temple proponents want such a practical solution. Why? Because the Dome of the Rock is built over where supposedly Abraham tried to sacrifice Issac, and it's also what observant Jews believe is the Foundation Stone. Islam believes that it "completes" previous Abrahamic religions IIRC, and restoring the Temple implies including the area around the Foundation Stone as part of the Temple because it was an integral part of the Temple ceremonies. That means replacement. Thus, restoring the Temple implies negation of the Dome of the Rock to the Third Temple folks. And in the case of the Waqf, allowing Jewish prayer negates the Palestinian political narrative. The irony is that there's stories about a wooden Jewish synagogue standing on the Mount during the early Islamic period. Not sure how long it lasted, but it may have been a presence up through Hakim (the Druze leader that perscuted Jews and Christians at the end of the 10th century), or possibly up to the Crusader sack of Jerusalem, when there was wholesale disruption of life in Jerusalem from previous times.
19. First post Did Not Succeed
emanon ,   USA   (03.12.13)
Second try with asterisks: There are all too many arabs that feel the statement is a misquote, that YNET missed the fine print. I've included the fine print in the angle brackets and made it larger so it is easier to read: "Devout Muslim dreams of seeing people of all *muslim* faiths praying together . . ." After all, don't they believe "Convert or die" is what "submission" means? Oh, and William (#8): that's the most sexist remark I've heard in a while. Such eloquence is rare from either gender. It is just a shame these great thoughts will be overruled by a body of bearded men. I'd love to see this come to pass, but I have my doubts.
20. It happened, a long time ago in Spain
A ,   Belgium   (03.12.13)
when Jews, Moslems, and Christians prayed together, studied together, and tried to solve the mysteries of the universe together. Unfortunatly, the "Golden Age of Spain" as it was called, ended, and the Inquisition began. Spain has never been the same.
21. #2 Kinda like hearing you say
A ,   Belgium   (03.12.13)
Sure, I'll sit next to the n...black person on the bus. Why hell, some of my best friends are n...black people. Turkey is rapidly become a radical islamic nation, this woman is only trying to express her shame in what her country and religion has become. She is a brave woman, you are but a schmuk.
22. You DON'T Understand
Michael Cecil ,   South Bend USA   (03.12.13)
The first step needed in beginning to eliminate the theological conflicts between Judaism, Christianity and Islam is to understand that Isaiah 26, verse 19 is a figurative description of the revelation of the memories of previous lives; and, thus, that the Doctrine of "resurrection" is a Doctrine of 'Rebirth'. Listen to the explanations on my 4Q529 YouTube channel. Michael
23. Dome of the Rock should be moved to Mecca.
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (03.12.13)
it doesn't NOT belong on an inch of Jerusalem, it is an abomination. Move it and the pals too while you're at it, instant peace.
24. # 5 & 8...You don't make any sense at all...
Edithann ,   USA   (03.12.13)
and that clap trap about historical Islam are lies..Israel was set up so the Palestinians could be Jewish slaves, it just didn't work out as Zionists planned....Come on now William..are you capable ot telling any truths? Has Israel ever come up with a concept that encourages brotherhood with 'others? .. .When you are 'Chosen' the implication of embedded supremecy ..you know it and the world knows it..What you're saying is Jews are supreme (Chosen) and you're 'IT'! What's left are the second bananas, those so called monotheistic religions . When Israel and Jews erase their mindset of supremacy..then there might be peace...but Israeli Talmud laws rules that out! Well it's interesting you're capable of appreciating a women's sensibilities..but we know you can't be sincere and write the crap you write..I don't think you know what you're saying... .Now when we see those same delicate sensibilities voiced by Jewish women...then and only then, will the world change... TATA
25. It certainly might be the Arab Vision..but it most
Edithann ,   USA   (03.12.13)
certainly isn't the Isaeli vision...and never will be... Talmud, remember that Talmud..it's made you what you are today..... TATA
26. Fine, Lets Share the Temple Mount
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.12.13)
I wish more Muslims thought like Sinem.
27. I obviously agree with #6
Keren ,   IL-BR   (03.13.13)
It is sooo absurd what happens! Israel is ours or not? Jerusalem is our capital or not? Magen David is the symbol of our flag or not? So,what the heck the governments of Israel humiliate themselves first and foremost by obligating the people of Israel to pray to a wall? This is so absurd,so umbelievable absurd that one does not even know what to think. After the glorious liberation of Jerusalem in 1967 ,Moshe Dayan gave the keys of the most holy places to Arabs. Was Moshe Dayan mad?? Now,if he was mad,his madess should be corrected and not prolonged. After all,why did they reconquer Jerusalem? Does this whole thing makes any sense?
28. Edithann: Israeli tolerance
jdc ,   New York, US   (03.13.13)
Israeli tolerance of an Islamic shrine on top of the Temple site is unprecedented. There is a movement in Israel called Peace Now. What is the corresponding Arab movement ? Your libelous crap regarding Talmud and the "Chosen" is pure ignorance. Being "Chosen" is a calling, not a status guaranteeing superiority. Jews may rise to it or not. You keep spouting hateful non-sense and seem convinced that you are delivering a "kill". I assure you, you are not. TUTU.
29. Temple Mount
bruce ,   edmonton,canada   (03.13.13)
NO!,NO!,NO! The Temple Mount is for G-d and not for other forms of worship.Do not forget what Moses came down from the Mountain with...The first Commandment speaks very clear!
30. Complete nonsense and the author surely must know it!
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.13.13)
It's like fantasizing in 1942 in Germany, about Jewish kindergardens at Auschwitz. There is no chance that Islam will embark upon a road of self-critique: that would be the biggest sin one can commit according to it's dogma. What is the point of these highly "cooked" articels by this lady??!! I could get it if she was running in a Miss World pageant, there they always want to work for world-peace..... Could we have a photo, please?
