I'm also a Jew, so the Pope does not mean anything to me either, on a personal level - but he means a lot to me, as a citizen ot the world living in 2013, for he is the leader of a Church which is still very influential and important in international affairs. Obama does not mean anything to me, for I'm not American; Bibi does not mean anything to me, for I'm not Israeli - is this the kind of logic you really believe in? Come on, nobody's an island, the Pope is very importanto for us, Jews, not as a religious leader, but as a political and social international figure - who, by the way and given the proper set of circumstances, could be very, very useful in order to mediate the peace process between Israelis and palestinians.
