Are the Syria's moderates capable of taking out Assad? ..probably not Are the extremists? ..probably yes. Support them to topple Assad, then 'drone' them ...? While I welcome the elimination of any threat to Israel and the US which sometimes entails doing the wrong thing for the right reason... I'd seriously keep seriously 'schtumm' about it

Get Real ,   UK   (03.16.13)
the only true democracy in the ME and that Iran and the Islamic extreme groups and their backers do continue to pose a threat to the US and the West. If proper intelligence gathering was in place at the time then 9/11 might have been avoided. All situations must be monitored to identify those threats and action taken as necessary.
5. AMotley of courage but some Fanatics
Zechariah   (03.16.13)
The Syrian Rebels have shown phenomenal courage but some of their best fighters are also barbaric and extreme Jihadi.
6. How typical of the US.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.16.13)
Some CIA officials "say there is no evidence that Syrian extremists indeed pose a threat to the US". So while they are doing their business in Syria, providing weapons and training to Syrian militants in order to intensify and upgrade the fighting, they won't care about the effects of the aftermath - that the Syrian extremists pose a threat to the surrounding countries including Israel. As long as they don't pose a threat to the US which is so far away, it is OK. They learnt nothing from Benghazi. Will they be able to exercise any control on all the weapons supplied to the rebels?
7.  you know the rest of the play
sam ,   colorado   (03.16.13)
a good plan to weaken Syria to cut off the link between Iran and Hezbollah to strike Syria from the inside by an armed conflict between the army and opposition and bring a large number of Islamists jihadists to support the Syrian opposition when finished dropping President al-Assad they have destroyed most of the Syrian army and destroyed the infrastructure of Syria after which there is a plan in place for U.S. intelligence to create a conflict between the Syrian opposition and Islamist jihadists and then, you know the rest of the play
8. Syria is Full of Terrorist
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.16.13)
Hizbollah, much of FSA, the Syrian Army are all "terrorist". There is a lot to keep your eye on. Currently, The EU wants to arm the terrorist and these weapons will be used against Americans, Europeans, Arab civilians and of course Israelis.
9. CIA created Taliban and Al Qaeda
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.16.13)
Makes sense that the CIA would create some new Islamic terrorist groups as well. CIA also once armed Iraq and Iran.
10. about sixteen months too late
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.16.13)
obama is always dithering. the only time he is not dithering is when he tries to dictate to the jewish state of israel.
11. If they can use drones in the US
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (03.16.13)
I am sure they can use them in Syria. Obama has changed the rules by targeting "home terrorists" in the US with drones. They haven't been used, YET.
