32. It's Crazy this Flotila Breached a Millitary Blockade
Bigizz ,   USA/Israel   (03.27.13)
Acted like no consequences were going to take place. It's crazy that Israel should apologize where they were provoked by breaching the Israeli military blockade. This artical explains it correctly. Israel should of sympathized with the Turks, and nothing more. Israel will always be held responsible and judged guilty.. Wow, how propaganda works so well. The provokers who were formally warned and ignored Israeli military warnings continued and breached the Israeli military blockade, and were able to convince the world the Flotila instigators are the victims. Unbelievable. The Bigizz USA/Israel.
33. #22 blabbing about Coast Guard
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (03.27.13)
its easy to do when there isn't one. And yes, I saw what they did to the soldiers, and I ask. Do those soldiers get accepted to the top special ops force positions to board a boat with a lynch mob. What do you expect. You win you lose, and when you lose you lose too. So ... instead , surround the ship with wire ropes and foul

36. G-d help us with this primate as FM
PaulZion ,   Israel   (03.27.13)
Lieberman has once again proven why he is so unsuitable to be Israel's FM. He is so obsessed with "being right" that he has no sense of the intricacies of today's diplomacy. He is no longer in Russia, where the Machiavellian attitude of "we can do this because we are stronger" applies. He is locked in the brinkmanship diplomacy of the '60's. What an a#$%hole. Besides which, the apology NEVER even hinted at any wrongdoing on the part of our soldiers. It was an apology for operational mistakes - ie. those mistakes made in planning how to deal with the flotilla, made by the IDF Chief of Staff, the Defense Minister and Lieberman himself, who cavarlierly pooh poohed the seriousness of the event. So much so, that neither he nor Barak were even in the country at the time. They were galavanting around the world. This is what I mean about a primate: He is stuck on Israel's righteousness, so much so that he is willing to put Israel's security at risk. The crisis in Syria is escalating and becoming even more dangerous, with Islamists among the rebels on our border in the Golan, and he is willing to continue with this "who blinks first" diplomacy re Turkey, a super power in our region, instead of finding a re-approachment with her. Turkey is also concerned about the instability in Syria, so we have a common national interest, but he prefers putting Israeli lives at risk. He has no long term vision and takes no responsibility for the buffoonish decisions he takes.

Israel is the only country in the world who maintains that Gaza is in no way under siege, yet kills to maintain a blockade! Strange isn't it?

whether the cause is really all that righteous is debatable but let's not go there. What happened was that woefully unprepared soldiers were sent in hot water, were attacked, panicked and mayhem occurred... While some blame does lie with the commmando's those are really to blame are to be found in the highter echolons.....
41. Lieberman is 100% right!

43. #37 Mr.NSB from Amsterdam
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (03.27.13)
I will explain: there is no blockade. All supplies can go through the border with Egypt. If Erdogan wanted, he could have sent supplies there. Otherwise, shipments pass inspection to see that rockets and bombs are not brought to Gaza. When the Mavi Marmara set sail, Netanyahu and Barak begged Erdogan to divert it to Ashdod to ascertain there were no weapons. He refused, because he wanted a confrontation. As for killing the IHH soldiers. They were not killed for the blockade. Their first action was to disembowel a soldier (slitting his belly and pulling out his intestines). If they had been US Marines, the Shayetet soldiers would have been dishonorably dismissed. After such a brutal and inhuman attack on their fellow soldier, US marines would have been rightfully expected to kill every single one of the terrorists.
44. #9 Agreed but next time missiles though, not paint balls.
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (03.27.13)
The IDF should have sunk the damned thing and have been done with it.
45. Gaza is the only 'nation' that declares war on Israel
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (03.27.13)
with rockets, kidnappings and reveling as did the PA at the news of 9-11. If Gaza disappeared tomorrow, the world would heave a great sigh of relief.

47. Concession to USA foreign policy.
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (03.27.13)
There's no doubt that President Obama arranged Bibi's apology, and one should therefore view it as part of American foreign policy and accept it as such. In the coming confrontation with Iran we need Turkey on our side.
48. My future vote goes to Lieberman or Bennet
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.27.13)
And to Netanyahu: you Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu are the lowest scum on earth - a man without a spine and a man without guts, morals and principles. And you are to lead Israel and to bring one national humiliation onto us after the other? A short term political gain at the expense of our national moral, morale and long term survival is really not a gain at all but a loss. It seems "Bibi" embraces kowtowing to Israel's enemies instead of knocking them dead once and for all. Turkey deserves no apology. What Turkey deserves are two powerful bombs wiping out Ankara and Istanbul.
49. Liberman the terrorist
Osman ,   Australia   (03.28.13)
I garee with liberman, Turkeys PM believes in his rightessness, thats why he is a successfull PM. The man wants justice for the palestinians. He is an honest person, believe me, Erdogan will keep his word. You say he is a muslim. A muslim does not break his or her word. Only the so called secular arab dictators bullshit ie Syria's Assad. Isreal damn well knows Erdogan is a smart person, he can not be bribed or bought. The man wants equality to both Isrealis and the Palestinians.

I wonder why the leftist hate this man? He must be a great danger to them since he works hard for the survival of Israel. Avigdor, YOUR WORDS ARE MY WORDS, AND I BELIEVE ALSO THE WORDS OF 80% OF ISRAELIS. Shame on this government, shame shame shame, I am 61 years old and NEVER in my life was I so ashamed to be an Israeli ...thanks to this stupid decision, probably made by Netanyahu under pressure from Obama.

Brod ,   USA   (03.29.13)
Lieberman is absolutely right.
56. #55 Lieberman is at best half-right.
On the Balcony ,   Akko   (04.01.13)
The Israeli report to the Palmer Commission states on one hand that Israel knew terrorist elements were directly involved in the protest and on the other hand, that the IDF did not anticipate serious resistance. If true, then the government wither failed to properly inform the IDF or committed a monumental stupidity in approving the mode of attack. In either case, an apology should have been made immediately to BOTH Turkey and the Israeli people with perhaps a special apology to the IDF. The deaths and injuries on both sides were easily avoidable, a fact which the Israeli government still fails to appreciate or address. The ships could have been deflected or disabled with very little risk. However, using water cannons, tugs and the like would hardly have provided as much potential for photo ops as did commandos rappelling to the deck from hovering helicopters. The IDF, Israeli people and the protesters (no matter how reckless their own behavior) paid a heavy price for this vainglory. You, and Mr. Lieberman, should think again.
