Don't you have nut houses in Turkey where you keep nuts like Erdogan in straight jackets? Maybe also needs a translator who knows the difference between "apology" and "expression of regret for loss of lives".
3. Netanyahu caved to the murderers of the Armenians
Steven Rosen   (03.26.13)
These Turks got nerve murdering 1.5 million Armenians and denying it, then wanting Israel to apologize for Israel defending itself against Turkish Islamo Fascists. Netanyahu caved to Islamic terrorism by apologizing.
4. Just wait for all the hot air to stop...
Wow ,   Aize Gibor   (03.26.13)
a tough situation for Israel, but Bibi did the right thing. Not for Turkey but for Israel. Of course it is doubtful that relations will be restored as the charade from Erdogan will continue and as a different Ynet article spells out, it was not the Marmara that started the down turn in relations - it had started years before. Israel has more important battles to focus on domestically and internationally than fuelling opportunities for this fool's ego. Pay compensation yes, as for the blockade, get your long nose out of another country's business. Israel must ignore the ranting and get on with what's important. It takes a lot of courage to be the 'bigger' one - well done Bibi! Erdogan and his FM have made fools of themselves.

alsky ,   Toronto   (03.26.13)
I am against ANY aplogy because when you apologize to a Muslim, you are showing weakness. Furthermore, Id like to see the day when Islamists apologize. Israel should not apologize for defending Israelis. Hey why not start apologizing for defeating the Arabs in 1948, 67, 73 etc. Lets see the Turks apologize to the Armenians, Kurds and invasion of Cyprus !

Two of your homies Kaganowich, Yagoda and their hand picked Jewish crew are responsible for artificially created famine in Ukraine and the death around 8-10 million people as a result of starvation during one 1932/33 winter, should the Ukrainians blame you and your generation for it ? ,...

If it had been a few militant Jew aboard a peaceship doing the identical thing to aid the Armenians and Kurds , I seriously don't believe turkey would have been as restrained as the Israelis were and there would never be an apology if there was a los of life .....
14. a metaphor to explain the issue

Your (A) feisty dog breaks out of its pen and wanders near the neighbor's (B) yard. B is worried that that the dog is going to do damage in B's yard if he gets in . So he heroically goes after the dog with a stick instead of calling the humane society. The dog mauls B and then B has to shoot the dog. Now A is mad that he shot the dog instead of calling the humane society. A wants an apology for B's mishandling the situation. B claims he did nothing wrong by shooting the dog, claiming he had to defend himself. Now how do you judge the case?

Reading these talkbacks we can see how delusional you all are here. For sure there must be normal, healthy Israelis.. only not here in this newspaper. Let us be clear with you guys: You are the weak part in the equation. You are a pariah in the international community alongside Iran, North Korea. Because you act unlawfully. You control the fate of another people contrary to the law. For this you deserve being ostracized and humiliated until you learn your lesson. I feel sorry for the normal Israelis who are aware of the degrading status of Israel but you, here, have to be put in your place. And before you start speaking about Armenians and Kurds, let me remind you all that they too fully endorse our positions in relation to Israel. By now, folks, stop talking. Just apologize, pay what you have to the families and remain in silence. Happy Pessach to all decent, human and correct brother Jews. The problem is not you and not even the Zionist Jews, but the crazies here that defend the occupation of another people against all odds.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.26.13)
First of all, they were not responsible for any famine anywhere -- Stalin was responsible for that. But -- since you brought up the issue of responsibility -- the Poles and Ukrainians and assorted European garbage were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of Jews over the centuries. So your accusation, in addition to being completely false, is -- well -- unimpressive.
19. Don't waste apology on Erdogan
Ted   (03.26.13)
and don't bow down to Obama's demand. The IDF acted in the best possible ways. The Flotilla came prepared to attack; and purposely ignored warning to let their ship be checked.

Your forces would not have been as careful as Israels ...and if you were asked for an apology ...It would be like extracting Hens Teeth.... Simply Mr Erdogan you are just as culpable as the Israelis in that you allowed known radical Islamist to sail on the ship ...the Radical Islamist that used bats and pipes to assault the Israeli boarding party ...

Attack-dog will abuse this for a little while. Now the Americans are inspiring him for the cancellation of Gaza visit. Erdoğan's domestic policy is always very harsh n brutal. He likes hitting under-belt. He doesn't recognize any political principle, fundamental and ethics. Saves the day, annihilates his political rivals mercilessly. Do you know how many people have committed suicide because of him? For the murdered Indian fishermen, Italian foreign minister has resigned in protest at a decision to send two marines back to India to face trial for murder. “My reservations about sending the marines back were not listened to,” he told. Let's see how will they solve the int'l water problem. We need Israel's technology and gas. Turkish state policy is abusing the state of Israel and profiting from her political problems. Is it a theatre, a sham fight or a major someone's changing world policy? We have become boring. I'm waiting for the contagion of the systemic crisis from our neigbours.
24. OK, Erdogan, you won
Keren, IL-BR   (03.26.13)

A person is going to cross a border, and as he gets close to the border he is warned that he is about to cross a border. He goes on and crosses the border and is shot - why pay him? Do you have a financial problem - cross the Mexican/USA border and collect money if shot.
