This government has a high tolerance for violence against Jews. It has instructed police and IDF not to arrest Arabs unless someone is seriously injured or killed. Jews who use weapons to even threaten Arabs in self defense are prosecuted. Every single day Jews are attacked by rock throwers and fire bomb throwers on Israeli roads. Arabs have the government informal permission to do this. That is the problem. If Arabs can attack Jewish motorists, including their babies, then it's open season for attacks on the elderly and every other Jew as well, whether by Arabs or by other Jews. Excuse me but when exactly were elderly treated well and with respect in Israel? Israel has always catered to youth and discarded the elderly. Examples include treatment of elderly patients in hospital where there has always been an attitude of "he/she is old, lived a long life so we're not going to kill ourselves trying to keep them alive" to general disrespect by younger people, to advertising jobs for anyone under 35. This is not new at all, it just so happened to happen and be publicized a few times in a short period of time.
