north korea is led by a few people whose sole goal is to retain power at all coast. these people have already slaughtered millions of their own people. people so violent and lacking in all conscience are unpredictable and capable of extremely violent and irrational acts.
the us must make it clear that any attack on south korea or other us interests would lead to very strong retaliation.
the other matter is north korea's nuclear weapons. the leadership would not be so belligerent without possessing nuclear weapons. past and present us appeasement of north korea has only emboldened the leadership. eventually, the us and its remaining allies will have to bite the bullet and solve the north Korean issue once and for all.
china cannot be relied on as a partner in this endeavor. china might cooperate in the very short term, but in the long term, china is an adversary.
